I got a fake pair for $15 in Bali and they work really well and there is like no difference between the real and the fakes, i mean, why would you want to pay $200-$300 on a pair of Sun glasses that are eventually gonna break anyway when you can get exactly the same for $10-$30?

I ordered my Ray-Ban sunglasses off macy's a few years ago. I've seen in various places that the case's inside will never be red on real ones. I never knew this but the case for my glasses are red on the inside with the stitching on top. The Gold logo is shimmery and the button doesn't have the logo on it either. I know the glasses themselves are real. Will real sun glass cases come with the red inside? I have the RB4086. If you can help me out that'd be great! thanks!

@4fingers100 Mine says what yours says and mine are vintage, totally original because B&L used to be the brand´s owner-manufacturer and it was located in USA. When they sold to Luxotica they started manufacturing in Italy. So B&L comes with USA and Luxotica comes with Italy. If its torn, its fake!

I think replicas have improved so much that it is really hard to distinguish the real from fake. We need better descriptions for the REAL nosepads. You must show it on the video which one is real. I have bought some Raybans from Ebay and they have all the characteristics of the REAL's but what do you mean above/under the hinge? It must be centered? Also the nosepads should look upwards or downwards? You confused me with the description... Please show us on video!
@marafetigr i mean that the RB logo should line up with the hinge instead of being too high or too low from it...it should be all at the same level. dont worry about the nose pads...the other things are more important to tell the difference between real & fake.

@littlebird1969 Those are real aswell. I have a RB3025 dark silver, which says LARGE on the side arm. I also got a brown case with it, which is flatter than the black one shown in most videos.
nice video, another point to note is that the nose pieces on the real ones have a more flexible, smooth quality rubber feel to them. The fakes are generally quite hard and often injection moulded. Also the real Ray-ban aviators have a sprigyness in the arms when put down, they sit slightly raised off the surface, fakes often just collapes under their own weight, or do not have any springyness about them.

@akwardsauce Don't take them to a store, they will just say they are real. Check the lens without Ray Ban written on it. on the edge half way down there should be a little "RB" etched into the Inside of the lens. If it's on the outside of the lens it's definitely fake and if it's on the inside i'm 99% sure it's real. Hope this helped ;)

Ridiculous. One, over the years, things have changed. All of these tiny minuscule details have most definitely changed over time. Also, depending on the region* in which you purchase these from, they'll be different.
If you're really concerned about authenticity, purchase them at a reputable dealer. Trying to compare them is really pointless.

I bought an extremely well-made 'replica' aviator that had the embossed "Ray Ban 58[]14" (or whatever size) under the bridge and engraved "RB" on the lens. It has now come to a point where it is impossible to tell the fake (or replica) from the real deal, so always buy from a physical outlet. Just my 2c!
As for my pair; I returned it and got a refund. I still don't have a pair because I couldn't find a genuine Ray Ban aviator!

These are the original Ray Bans introduced in the late '30s by Bausch & Lomb. The chances of ending up with a well made 'fake' are less and you get an outstanding pair of sunglasses that will last you a lifetime. I bought a lightly used pair from the 'bay & it screams quality. (and I paid less than $80 with post to Sri Lanka)

Interesting - I have another anomoly to add - I have a couple of pairs of genuine Ray Bans and the cases are quite different to each other. One has the stitching along the top and the other one doesn't!

I bought an extremely well-made 'replica' aviator that had the embossed "Ray Ban 58[]14" (or whatever size) under the bridge and engraved "RB" on the lens. It has now come to a point where it is impossible to tell the fake (or replica) from the real deal, so always buy from a physical outlet. Just my 2c!
As for my pair; I returned it and got a refund. I still don't have a pair because I couldn't find a genuine Ray Ban aviator!

@akwardsauce because when compared with the 'real' deal, the fake sticks out like a sore thumb! Anyways, try and get a pair of American B&L Ray Ban aviators. These are the original Ray Bans introduced in the late '30s by Bausch & Lomb. The chances of ending up with a well made 'fake' are less and you get an outstanding pair of sunglasses that will last you a lifetime. I bought a lightly used pair from the 'bay & it screams quality. (and I paid less than $80 with post to Sri Lanka)

The B&L on the top of the glasses is an immediate sign that they aren't real. Bausch and Lomb doesn't even make Ray-bans anymore, Luxotica does.

@akwardsauce Hi i would like to ask if the quality of the fake one is really that bad...Im thinking of getting a fake one coz the real one is just too expensive for me. The importent part for me is the glass itself. I mean i know they use cheap material but are they really worse then maybe a pair of none high end brand glasses? Coz i can get a fake ray ban or a pair of normal ones at my local clothing store for just about the same price.

Nice! I was able to weed through the fakes, and it seems that RB3025 was replaced by RB3026, and the most notable difference was the price - knock-offs sold for $30-$40, and used real ones sold for around $75. Good review, I learned a lot!

Oh, and the funny part? Type in "RB3025 style" on ebay and you'll find the same exact glasses trying to be passed off as authentic for $6.00!

@zchris87v i actually looked it up cuz i got ebay open already...the guy is really tricky with his wording but he never said authentic raybans...he says "rayban style sunglasses", "professional designer sunglasses", "rayban tags", & "quality guaranteed". i can see how people would think its real cuz its misleading as fuck, but he did a good job of never really saying theyre authentic raybans but still making u think so...tricky...

@moradierman hahaha thx...i dont listen particularly to dubstep, although i do like how some of it sounds...i didnt even know what dubstep was until people started commenting on my vids. but it just caught my ear & i liked it...i think kanye even remixed it...but look up "pro nails rusko remix" or something like that.

@scvs2 the big ones are called aviators & the smaller, plastic framed ones are wayfarers. they are 2 of the most popular styles EVER made by rayban.
the aviators are black wire & the wayfarers are black plastic frames.
the lens colors are actually a grayish-green color. its the darkest lenses i could get my hands on...
none of these ones are polarized...the ones on the left are fakes & the one on the right is authentic.

Interesting - I have another anomoly to add - I have a couple of pairs of genuine Ray Bans and the cases are quite different to each other. One has the stitching along the top and the other one doesn't!
One case is black inside and the other one red and one has the belt thing and not the other one. To sum up, as you say, the case is not really a good way to tell fake or real.
