• Oh this brings me right back to my college days -he was so huge then-he was SO sweet when he played a concert down here-just precious-I hate to think this beautiful talent and precious personality were so disappointed in life that he has gone over

• after all these years i still get the chills when i listen to the genius of cat

• wow such ignorance about islam here... great song though ^^

• One of the best songs of all time! Love it.

• John Frusciante's version is the best!

• I have always wondered, what more he might have brought into the world, had he not been turned off by the corporatacracy of this world..love the music...

• Just his voice and two guitars, and everything is SO filled with music and harmony...you haters really need to learn to listen to music. Or see a doctor. Serious.

• His political views and his music should be separate.I'm not saying and no one can say he 's innocent or he's the purest of souls but does it really matter when you're listening to his songs. It doesn't.

• Love this song! :)

• The best yes yes yes

• use to love this music but why go where the woman have to hide behind a scarf

• John Frusciante Sent Me Here!

• @MrMutron John also sent me here :)

From great concert at Rock am Ring. John rocks.

• Cat Stevens got his wish about wanting a hard headed woman- He met Islam...

• Great artist then, great artist now. Don't *ever* allow prejudice & political propaganda to influence your ability to fully appreciate any creative human's unique expression(s) of thoughts & emotions.

Consider the work of Picasso. If you knew nothing about him, you'd simply appreciate (or fail to appreciate) the art he's made tangible within our world. Yet if you learned some facts about the man, you might perceive his work differently. Don't confuse apples for oranges. : )

• Time is greatest test for a song and this one has withstood it for me. I can still listen to it after more that 30 years.

• meow

• What a great song! Cat has a beautiful voice!

• Beautiful. . .

• 10 people were hard headed women

• Gr8 song, absolutely perfect..

• great tune.

• @ketoras Prettymuch everyone has been at war with everyone bro. Unless someone has personally done something to you, I don't think you can really hold a grudge; otherwise you'd just end up hating the whole world.

• @itsashpadoinkleday kinda like america holding a grudge on the middle east for absolutely nothing,

• I LOVE THIS SONG! anytime throughout the last couple of decades I've used my Cat Steven's Greatest Hits music to get me thru stressful times. It has always calmed me down. ALWAYS Fook a Valium lol~~

• I just love his music...Fuck his views though..!!

• just love this song :)

• Arnt we all ? Love this song. Cat is great to chill to. :) @worseforwere:

• 3/3 . [2:228] "... And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; But men have a degree over them...] . [4:3] ..."Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four..." . [4:24] Basically states, 'Married women are off limits except those who fall into your hands, captives' . {If the US fell into the hands of the Muslims, married and unmarried Jewish and Christian women would be considered "captives} . You want rights, roll Christian.
• @Mummificationify Dude, chill. I just wanna listen to the song. I don't want Christianity or Islam in politics or any religion for that matter.

• 2/3

[ 2:282] "O you who believe, when you transact a loan for any period, you shall write it down. An impartial scribe shall do the writing. ........ Two men shall serve as witnesses; if not two men, then a man and two women whose testimony is acceptable to all. Thus, if one woman becomes biased, the other will remind her. It is the obligation of the witnesses to testify when called upon to do so. ......"

Watch “Obsession – Radical Islam’s War against the West”

• 1/3 Here's some passages in the Qu'ran that pertain to lack of women's rights.

.

[4.11] "Allah (thus) directs you As regards your children's (inheritance): to the male a portion equal to that of two females"

.

[2. 223] "Your wives are as a tilth [cultivated land] unto you. So approach your tilth when or how ye will."

.

[4:34] Men are the protectors... As to those women On whose part ye fear Disloyalty and ill-conduct, Admonish them, refuse to share their beds, beat them...

• My favorite one! He's is a gorgeous man! Thanks for posting.

• thats me hard headed

• I has forgotten how gorgeous he was.

All little girls loved Cat Stevens in the 70's and grew up to be Cat Lovers for life.

• love this record, i hope im a hard headed woman to my fiance x allie

• I love his new stuff. But this is the best song he's ever done.

• LOVE him

• It is matter of who is capable to activate your feelings with his unique and outstanding style. So special that moved and touch so many and still does, it is a fact,. We love you Cat Stevens or Yusuf Islam, you're part of history.

• Isn't he beautiful ... sigh... (or, maybe because my boyfriend at the time won a Cat Stevens look-a-like contest)... but either way - if Cat only knew THEN that I was really his hard-headed woman... well.. .... he'd be a Christian today!!! lol! .... maybe that's not so funny... oh well.. look at that hair... those eyes.. the feelings he expressed - oh my.. I still love him.. :)

• This is such a great song.I appreciate it so much.Thank you sir:)

• at 9 they do not like have a hard head

• Religion is a form of control( not necessarliy bad ), manipulated over centuries to create order and appease the beliefs of the populace. Imo the first homo sapiens had it right. God is the Sun in the sky, the everlasting, the light of the world, the giver of life and without it nothin would exist. It all evolved from there.

Cat Stevens is a Legend among'st songwriter's...

• @leeroy75

Well I certainly don't want to engage in any religious debates. However,I personally feel there is a God. Religion is not perfect cause we don't live in a perfect world. Your always gonna have people that abuse a system, look at politics. Nevertheless, I think we all live under rules and control and the entire universe operates under set of rules and control systems . Where ever you have a cause you will have an effect and vice-versa. Anyway, I'm waxing philosophical, but I love Cat.

• @HarlanLovestone most people have a sense of good and evil/ right and wrong with or without God.

• Incredibly great in his day, but the minute he started blowing Mohammed, it all went away. They sucked his creative soul completely dry. He hasn't done squat since. Too bad. Seriously, too bad. They'll be coming for your 9-year-old daughters next.

• This man can do no wrong in my eyes.....and I dont need my eyes to see

• i wish he made acapella version....... i really like it..

• Beautiful lyrics.

• He was very gifted, and clearly felt life and music to his very core of his soul. We all have to find our own way back to our eternal home. I do not agree with the path he finally choose, but then again many people have not agreed with mine either. I honor him for his music and this part of his life. The rest if between him and God.

• things worth doing are worth doing well

sometimes one can't help but mess everything up untill they realize

the mess this time

is one much bigger than the last

• Greag Musician and wonderfull messager of LOVE!!!

Thanke You Sir Yusuf Islam!

Love You.

F.

• I was privileged to see Cat Stevens live in 1972 in Los Angeles. His music was very relevant to my life, as I was young and seeking the truth just like he was. I felt that we lost him when he converted to Islam.

• @jradamo I agree. So promising - and so disappointing that he wastes his life and energy to pray to and spread a narrow-minded idol phlosophy.

• @Gabal113 As christian I don't agree with his religion, and I could be accuse of a narrow-minded view too, but I think as a person he has not wasted his life. Things happen. He made the choices to make himself happy which were to have a family and try to help others with his wealth. He's not a terrorist and doesn't support that. I think he's a man of peace. I respect the guy.

• @HarlanLovestone If someone needs to become religious just to realize that it's good to have a family and try to help others, then this is nothing which I think deserves respect. I also haven't heard yet, that he was criticizing Islamic traditions like polygamy and less rights for women and non-Muslims.

• @Gabal113 Well some people do change after a religious experience and some don't. From what I read he was always on a spiritual journey. He also was growing dissatisfied with the music industry and I think felt used and burned out. He put out his music for several years and then he just decided to take time out and live a normal life. So I can respect that choice.

• @HarlanLovestone I can understand that he was dissatisfied and felt used and burned out. But why should I respect someones choice to join a religion which doesn't grant equal rights to non-Muslims and women?

• beautiful man absolutely!!! His music is just as stunning, even today.

• I agree with you kfloria88. When Cat was a baby, people would stop and comment on what a beautiful baby he was. I read that somewhere.

• I totally agree with you, Miklay 9. There are people in every nation, religion, etc. that are filled with love. Cat Stevens is one who I love.

• I love this wonderful song. I miss him.

• maravilloso, all my memories round here

• he was quite cute.!!!

• Guys, stop arguing about Cat Steven's conversion to the Islam, and write about the song!

I for myself like this song a lot because it greatly and passionately expresses the deep will for unconditional love.

• therec was a day when he was the best. butb i cant ignore the fact that in the 60's and early 70's i followed him.. i fought on two different continents and i can tell youn that people are people no matter where you are. bad is bad and its everywhere. good is good and i believe that cat or yusef is good

• I am an american indian. I love this man, beauty and peace reflect within his eyes. The word "muslim" means nothing to me, but I respect his choice of worshiping the great spirit. He is pure of soul and walks in peace, thank you Yusuf for all the good you have done and all the happiness you have given the world.

Catdancing

• @peace2422 Complete agree with you,

• Hear his comments about Salmon Rushdie in the 80's where he doesn't some across as such a loving and gentle man. He actually exhibits a lot of religeous bigotry and hatred. I'm not religeious at all yet i consider myself tolerant of what other people believe as long as they don't impede on anyone elses freedom.

• we r all still lookin?

• it doesnt matter what religion you are, this guy has a gift.christian, muslum, baptist, atheist, this guy has americana 60's all over him.

• Cat Stevens always possesed a clam, loving nature about him. A peacefulness consumed his beautiful, fragile heart. I am glad he chose to answer his calling and fulfill his life regardless of what his fans, family and friends thought

• what a beautiful man

• Well said providencelady!

• oh my...oh my...treasure unknown to many

• Mosque.......

• He's got everything,my fav singer ever! REBORN.....to the right way of live... no doubt!

• you will find her one day bobx

• Absolutely his best song and one of the best rock /pop/whatever songs ever. Fucking stunning.

• A genious x

• This is my favorite song, i love Cat!!!

• I keep listening to his songs and I love this one so much!! this is my Cat period...he's inspired (and inspiring?) and sings so soulfully that it's almost painful to listen..

• my radar is still on the search mode...but all hard headed women are really gooeeeyy when you really look hard enuff :-)

• love this songs and thanks to my very dear friend for sending me this video. YES... indeed, I am a hard headed woman!!:<3

• Lol its a song about a woman....not religion....lol

• i love this soooooooooo much.

• Islam Rocks!

• Imagine there`s no religion it isnt hard to do.

JL

• @boots2bagpipes Um... okay. How big of an idiot do you have to be to post a comment like that? are you really so low as to mock the assasination of one of the world's greatest people and expect us to laugh at it? leave your stupid and unnecessary comments off of the videos you watch, and start thinking about the things you say.

• @providencelady can't we all j-just g-g-git along long get- along

• @providencelady . . I don't know what this has to do with cat stevens and religions getting along . . but if you're making the case that people are bagging on Cat because he went "Muslim" . . May i remind you that the US President states unequivocally that we aren't at war with Islam . . . But in my words . . . lesser in volume and value than our most illustrious president: . . . We are not at war with Isam . . however . . Islam is in fact at war with us . . and that is a sad sad fact.

• i dont have to look for hard headed women.....they seem to find me.....

• Lol, good one edward. I have similar luck lol

• Oh hell yeah! lol!

• Can we stop this crap. Tea for the Tillerman was released in 1970 when I was in H.S. It seemed to me Buddist in nature. The Vietnam war was killing hundreds a week and this was a welcome change from the hard rock of the time, which I also loved. To bring you back to then I would quote some bumper stickers of the time. "War is good business - Invest your son", "I'm not Fonda Hanoi Jane", and "Don't switch Dicks in the middle of a screw, vote for Nixon in '72"

• WONDERFULL MANN, SINGER, PLAYER and THAK YOU YUSUF ISLAM for wath you are doing for POOR PEUPLE!

LOVE YOU!

Fab.

• how you have managed to relate a hippie album to dead cartoonists and thugs is beyond me. you seem to have a confused sense of time, events and characters.

and just who are "we"?

• I wasnt commentating on stevens, I was merely pointing out that the religion he has chose is a backward 6th century ideology.

• can you tell me which religion isnt so backward, so last millenium? i have never come across one.

• well, 1 preaches love and tolerance (christianity) even though it has had followers who were murderes. 1 preaches inner self truth (budism) and 1 preaches intolerance to Jews, christians, and Kuffers (none believers) and that is ISLAM.

• Religions are sets of rules open to interpretation and humans being stupid animals will of course interpret them as they please. Besides even the most "peaceful" religion" you mention ironically managed to kill millions of humans, so what does that tell you about religions?

• There are religions that teach peace but are used as war and ones that teach war.

Islam teaches intolerance. None of the others do.

• that is not true. they believe killing a human is the biggest "sin" one can commit. but do they practice what they preach? is another matter but hey i am not gonna argue over some religion.

• I have seen a colelction of quotes from the Koran, and they were horrible. Do some research

• do you think it is worth wasting my precious time. i have better things to do in life

• So why are you replying and sticking your uninformed face in for?

Get lost.

• hateful feelings are so energy draining, just ignore it and it will go away :-D

• man, you are sooo informed, i am really impressed by the depth of analysis and the scientific arguments you have provided...

not to mention the yoblike rudeness

• @narkiz muslim does nto peach intolerance , your probably jsut a fanatic eiht nothing better to do

the only religion hat allows all tolerance is buddhism

dumbass

• hey you retarded canuck ,,,

i am not defending any religion here

all religions are manmade and everyone of them are open to interpretation. Buddhism is all about self denial . If you do not tolerate yourself with all your faults, how could you tolerate others? religions are clubs run by half wit fanatics ...just ike you. being religous and having high moral standards are mutually exclusive

• yeah, first off buddhism is not in denial, its whole point is that life is suffering, and we have to live through it, plus it preaches good karma, and being intolerant is deffinitely not a good deed that brings good karma but im sorry, i meant to reply to the other guy you were agruing wiht, lol i was tryin to agrree with you but i fucked it up

ps, im not a retarded canuck, thats not cool

• You called me names in the first place and you got what you deserved mate. That is your "Karma" for you.

man, why do you have to assume life is about suffering,,,you suffer on a "need to" basis, not by default! why cant you make up your OWN mind instead of taking some philosphy literally and making your life hell on earth. wtf...

• okay fiar enough

i am not buddhist, i just wanted to clear up any false beliefs

i dont beleive in religion for me personally, but i do realize it is sometihng that some ppl need

people believe in religions when they are desperate and need hope, and who are we to tell them that there is no pleasant after life after their depressing life on earth?

• ha youtube didn't let me write a longer comment.. so instead Hhhahahah. By the way I'm not Muslim.

• You accuse someone of being uninformed, then claim only Islam teaches intolerance, lol, please go learn the history of every religion ever made by man, and then tell me which ones are all about tolerating different viewpoints.....If you can honestly without bullshitting yourself find one I'll be Impressed. Oh and reading quotes in English from a book written in Islamic....yeah that's gonna translate well.

• lmao, all religions are man made controllers, but you cant use jesus to teach intolerance. You can use muhammads war campaign book though, and the fact he slept with 9 year olds!

It is you who needs to go read up. Dick.

• Your just dense. seriously grow up and enter reality, you can and they do use Jesus to teach intolerance. Oh and i have read about 80% of both the old and new testament, So, I think i'm well read enough k thnx.

P.s There's more in the bible than just Jesus, the bible is where the kkk got there ideas from.

• christanity is not based on the none jesus parts. learn. Stop giving me shitty answers.

• Dear little brainless one, For one i grew up in a roman catholic family, went to a catholic school, then went on to become a christian like the rest of my family afterward before I realized it's all a bunch of crap. But please tell me all about Christianity and what it's based on, cause I'm pretty sure we read the whole bible, as did all my christian mates from different churches, as well as the mate that did theology at university. You have no clue, stop typing now please.

• man, so the Crusades were an act of "tolerance"?

get real.

• Comment removed

• @narkiz anyway what are we doing discussing this on Cat Stevens thread? If he wants to play Muslim let him do it, and leave the music out of it.

• Thirty years ago Playboy magizine rated "Tea for the Tillerman"one of the top twenty-five albums of all time. Why hasn't it remained there,or even climbed?Instead it's disappeared.WTF...

• maybe because a conservative religous muslim does not go down well with the redneck media

• no, maybe we just don't like cartoonists being killed or seeing our countries play nice with a bunch of thugs.

• SUBLIME!

Thak's very much.

GOD BLESS You Yusuf Islam.

Fab.

• love him!!

• I want to be someone's hard headed woman. Too bad I never bumped into Cat Stevens lol

Love him to bits!

• im a hard headed man ...... Q_Q

• I just love him...

• Me too.

• I liked him better before the hijad!!!

• whats hijad?

• and the rest of my life i may be without a partner,

i don't know the answer 2 that yet

no more rescue missions of grown men that drag me down/well that is probably wrong/because i have learned my lessons

the hard way

• i came hear for this flash of a second in time

i came hear for a reason

this job is hard

yes

but...

a small light, i believe i can see a small light

at the end of this tunnel

• love this man, if i find me a hard headed woman i wont need no one else, wonderful!!!

• I don't know why, but whenever I try to picture Taliesin, it's Cat Stevens face that pops up.

But then when I try to picture Alexander the Great it's Jim Morrison that pops up.

• lovely vid showing "Cat" at his very best.

• I hope you'll understand this was for BrickhouseB2...

• I've never laid my eyes on a more beautiful man in my life...

• @floria88

i agree floria

• @floria88 i feel the same ♥

• for a simple vocal/guitar piece, there is a truly great dynamic here, I'd say almost dramatic, and it's always been one of the most inspirational things I've heard in music. I think the way it is underlined by those knocks on the guitar just adds a dimension to it that is truly a work of art. Cat is a true artist.

• Yousef Islam

• BEST SONG EVER!!!! wonderful Cat Stevens

• it is truly a wonderful song .. It brings back many memories for me during my wilder days .. All Cat's music was calming in one way or another....Hard Headed Woman- Sad Lisa- Father and Son - Wild World - Where Do the Children Play -Miles from Nowhere ... As a matter of fact these are all on one album... Man was brilliant!!!!

• Yes Please my Dear!!!

• His music is timeless......!

• fantastic song.

negged every single person on this page not talking about the music/video btw.

• Guys you have seriously lost the plot (Religion is a personal thing), and I am sorry but I have always have gone for a hard headed women, doormats are two a penny. I want a woman to Inspire me, to challenge me, to be my friend, partner and lover, or for you guys is it asking too much, maybe you are afraid

• I am a muslim, i acknowledge the fact many Muslims are ignorant of even their own religion and pointing fingers to the other religions, but is it fair to blame all muslims becouse of the act of few, cat stevens is an example and so many other muslims are too who practice islam for the betterment of the world....

• thank you for posting this. People really needed to hear it.

• @hammad313 I hate to say it, but the acts of a few reflect on all. I renounce Christianity due to it's bad aspects, and I would have hoped someone with those songs in him would do the same when Islam became a cruel aggressor. I know it isn't ALL Muslims, but The Bad Guys do count you when they speak of the numbers of people who agree with their approach. Good Song anyway. Luck to all.

• Listen to the music

• COMO YO MUJER DE CABEZA DURA
