Its not a real antivirus,but a Behaviour blocker,but it catches almost anything.If you have MBAM as an on demand scanner (and maybe SAS) you should be able to get by ;)

I use it with Online Armor firewall,and until now nothing has gone thru that combo.

i use prevx to detect the virus then i go and delete them manually. works for me

Well done! We have to be open and admit that malware writers are a way ahead of antmalware programs, however, Prevx does well so does MBAM.

What I would like you to do is to test new upcomming VIPRE 4 beta as well as combination of malwarebytes and microsoft antivirus.

I think its the best investment to buy MBAM and use it with either Avira free, Avast free or Microsoft AV.

"Downloading disinfection files" means Prevx is getting the latest instructions from the cloud as to how best to clean a piece of malware. Other apps already have that as part of their program.

This AV looks like it's analyze viruses not uses the database because it's the only AV on virustotal that doesn't detect eicar test file!!!!!!!!!!

It isn't a full AV. So, it won't detect EICAR. It is meant more as a backup for other AVs but has a full detection rate. I think it uses cloud technology.

Well immunet protect uses cloud too but it may detect eicar!!!

EICAR is not a virus, it is merely a test string.  Considering PrevX is not trying to be a conventional antivirus product there is no need for PrevX to detect EICAR.

It tends to be the Netsky worm. Although malware in general can cause the problem.

Nice review! PrevX is not good on rogue detection. It seems Malwarebytes is the best software nowadays to detect rogue softwares.

What's your opinion?

MBAM might be the king of rogue detection, but 3 or 4 rogues isnt hardly enuff to say it sucks against rogues cuz ther are many more rogues than those 3 or 4... and even MBAM wont detect them all.

MBAM is very on top of rogues and gets close to a one hundred percent detection rate.

lol so ur saying they have access to everything the second its released? that wuld imply that MBAM personally knew EVERY SINGLE malware author personally and got samples ahead of time. and that does not make any sense... it simple that even MBAM cant keep up with EVERY SINGLE one because in between signature updates even a new trojan or rogue or anything culd be released, and ther u go, right then it wont be detected.

They actually can with two families of rogues. It isn't because they know the guys either. If I tell you here MBAM would kill me.

It should be, but I would use either this or MBAM pro. It is a tough decision, they are both nice. I wouldn't buy it though considering you have MBAM pro.
