by the way thats kind of a useless comparison anyway since the comparable form of a state in the UK is really one of the four constituent countries... (US>state>county>township>city­, UK>country>county>borough>city­) everyone thinks of states as being the same kind of division as a county or what have you only at a higher level, but they are technically just as much different countries as england scotland, etc. thats why they have their own capitals... they are under US like wales is under UK
