  • He remembers those vanished years.

As though looking throusth a dusty window pane, the past is something he could see, but not touch.

And everything he sees is blurred and indistinct.

  • OMG SO BEAUTIFUL !!!

  • <3 diamanda

  • Diamanda!!!

  • beautifull!! I love she..

  • una delle più belle vci.....

  • Oh I love her voice! She's just wonderful.. so insane...

  • Diamanda the best, greeting from greece

  • DEAD RINGER

  • MMMM...beautiful

  • Ah love Diamanda's covers.

  • uh...wow!!!!!!!!!!

  • best version, great album..love Diamanda!

  • Nice idea to combine these two fine works and I too prefer Diamanda's cover over many others.

I must remark though, that the cuts in the visual are way too fast for this song. As I remember, there so many slow and long camera moves in the movie, maybe you should try another version with a more adapted visual.

But all the above doesn't mean I didn't favourite this clip:)

  • He's timed the cuts to the downbeats of the bassline, imho

Mind you,I aint got any preconceptions cos I don't watch any of that fluffy stuff,as you know

    Great video,I'd say

  • You should watch "In the mood for love". It's an incredible study in elegance and beauty. The fact that the protagonists of that movie are also quite beautiful people is as unimportant as the storyline, just watch it in Chinese.

I'm not sure he timed them to the downbeats, but even if so, I still think their too fast, especially as the movie itself has long takes, that would correspond more to the song.

Whatever, I too like the video.

  • Not my bag,sorry

I only like the "SAW" movies and Tarkovsky :)

  • Oh,btw do you want the Amy gigs?

  • Btw, wouldn't you say, that poor little Amy should maybe consider Diamanda as a role model, rather than Charles Bukowsky?

  • I had no idea Any Winehouse was into Bukowsky

I don't really follow her career or the progress of her life thesedays

She prolly needs to get rid of the men and the drugs...it's a vicious circle she's in

  • where can i get a mp3 of this version. is it available on cd?

  • Diamanda Galas, from the album "The Sporting Life"..which I think is brilliant

  • @archiea66 It's in the "The Sporting Life" album, you can download it from internet or buy it from amazon I guess, second option is always better.

  • @archiea66 Download Atube Catcher (It's free) and paste the URL direction in the program, then download the video as a video or a sound archive. Works on Youtube, Dailymotion and other pages.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • the only thing that i respect in my life is she

  • what a great voice!

  • A heartbreaking soulful version. Wonderful. I love Diamanda, she can sing the guts out of anything.

  • She does it HER way and it's great.

  • I like this, her voice is unique. Why would anyone want to listen to a bunch of carbon copies? Long live originality!

  • Talk about oversinging....check out the Ry Cooder version or James Carr version. Much more soulful and much less contrived.

  • I've listen to different versions, including Ry Codder and James Carr. But I prefer Diamanda, I can really imagine the situation, the story that the song is about. I don't say that other versions are bad, is just that I like de intensity of Diamanda's voice.

    Regards :)

  • I feel the same. The way she sings "If we should meet just walk on by" makes me feel totally involved in the story she is telling with this song. I think her version is extremely intense - so much emotion.

  • @woodsheddin You're serious? You obviously lack both soul and a sense of humor. This chick's got both. Whereas Ry Cooder is just some white geek with a guitar thinks he's actually passing for cool. He's fooled how many people? One?

  • @woodsheddin I don't think you understand what oversinging is.

  • the voice - pure art

  • Was kann diese Frau eigentlich nicht? Ich liebe nicht nur ihre Stimme..Es ist ihre Gnadenlosigkeit in allen Bereichen ihrer Muse...

    Und ihre Schönheit...

    MUTTI666

  • terrible version of the song. my god.

  • i know is not cut and past... you are so right...

  • whats this movie?

  • @gimgim It's "In the mood for love" directed by Wong Kar-Wai (2000)

  • I love the song.

  • excellent song!!! WOW!
