the amount of automation is insane, it amazes me that they invest so much in automation and that they can still make a profit, is aything done by hand?
a) I wasn't intending on giving an exhaustive list of all engines ever designed by man.
b) You didn't prove me wrong.
c) Your definitions of "explosion" and "combustion" are really vague. The explosions that happen in a car engine are "controlled" in order to harvest the energy they produce. "Control" is a subjective concept.
@TheDogdiggidy lol if they have an "explosion" in the engine that means they have a detonation and most likely will have a hole in the piston in a short matter of time.
Explosion engines are a sub-category of internal combustion engines, car engines are explosion engines but still belong in the "internal combustion engine" category. The combustion of gasoline leads to the formation of expanding gases, also called an explosion.
@tifran9494 there are four kinds of engines combustion, hydraulic, gravity, and pneumatic. motors are electronically driven through magnetism and seeing that an explosion is a uncontrolled release of energy what happens in an engine is called combustion a controlled release of energy
"The pistons come next, six per engine, because this is a six cylinder engine." Whew! Glad he said that. I was thinking "how are they going to get six pistons in a four cylinder engine?" Him smart. We dumb. My head hurts when I think.
If people were still making engines, you'd still be getting your valve jobs every 30,000 miles and new rings at 60,000. The precision with which modern engines are made, the tight tolerances, the better metals, all, are needed to give motors the long-lasting capabilities which keep us out of the service bays for hundreds of thousands of miles instead of every few thousand.
@4ivIV realy the best most powerful engines are hand built and assembled. the Bugatti veyron's engine, the Ferrari, Lamborghini, corvette ZR1 engines are all hand assembled. that's why they cost so much. i would take a hand built engine any day over a computer built one.
@cbr900rr919 the most powerful engines are all computer designed and manufactured, those engine u listed are the classic examples, they didnt hand build it, they simply hand assembled it to justify the price tag those race car got and the mere production quantity. in reality a toyato camery v6 engine whould cost as much as any lamborghini top end engine if only 100 unit was produced yearly and hand assembled, where the cost of a computired production line arent jusfied as it cost hudread million
Why is it such a hard thing for companies to hurry up and make super car assembly lines so everyone can drive a nice piece of machine??......... Damn selfish.
I wounder how those machines are going to drive the cars those engines go into. I mean after loosing their jobs to machines how can people afford them?
Dear god. It's unbelievable what automation can do today. Imagine if all those machines only had to produce electric engines... Internal Combustion Engines have so many fricking moving parts!
For those who wonder what engine it is, it's a Toyota 3.5 L 2GR-FE V6 at the TMMAL plant.

@ gafransico. It's actually called a power stroke. Intake, combustion, POWER, exhaust.

@Tecnogas69 dumb ass ... explosion is one of the four steps in the combustion cycle (Otto cycle).
-> intake ..compression ..explosion .. exaust
gafrancisco 5 months ago
@gafrancisco Read my comment again... and think about it you fool... its called COMBUSTION ENGINE not explosion engine...
And you don't have to explain how a four stroke engine works, i've already made one
