FINALLY beat this after acquiring it in 1991. Not that the game was hard, it's just it kept freezing on me all the time so it would never stay on long enough for me to beat it, haha. Final boss was somewhat irritating, because the fire ring would sometimes circle around the boss and hit the kid instead, haha.
Do you know how many effing times I've tried to beat that last boss? On a lark I thought I'd look up how someone beat the game only to find that it was that friggen simple. I'm so pissed off...I can't help but laugh at this. Really?!

Now THIS is a game I would like to see remade in 3D on a current-gen console. Even better, have Manta grab a villain and throw them at the camera if they don't show him where the cocaine's at.
I'm guessing the double-move allotment is because anything following The Spider counts as one move, and the game counts it as The Spider rather than whatever the follow-up attack is?

Finally looked up the phone number to the NES Tip Line and got the right combo to beat that fucker. I remember that I found that phone number in Thrasher Magazine. Man, those were the days. @yikesatiger crazy thing is the same thing happened to me....except it took me almost 16 years to beat the game because i gave up lol i never beat it on nes i beat it on computer......downloaded a rom and used a backward rewind cheat n it still took me like an hour to beat el toro!

Somehow at the end, I saw when he was losing hair whenever he would get shot, I knew that I was doing something right and he was coming close to getting killed.

It's a good game, I like it and it was one of my childhood favorites. The game was kinda difficult at times, but the last boss was a bit too easy in my opinion.
I agree. The game was a lot of fun to play. However, after the last boss gets killed, I thought that the ending was a very strange ending with the Black Manta's master only telling him how well he did on finding and saving his lost student, and telling him to use the skills he was taught to help others. Since this game was about saving children on levels, I thought it would've been nice if the ending had to do with all the kids the Manta saved helped him to go in the newspaper as a hero.
