I was confused, I thought the little girl with the blonde mum was gonna grow up to be Michelle William's character, she looked so much like her. Strange how they did that.

The little girls reminds me of me and my best friend when we were that age, we made a secret language and put it in a jar except we put it in the pool instead haha. And another time with my other friend put a pact and our favourite trinkets and buried it in the yard. It's funny how universal these little things girls do are.

She's just there sucking out all the hope and optimism in front of her own kid just because her life didn't turn out the way she wanted. Huh! Holly's Mom probably just didn't try hard enough but oh well!

That little game Marina plays on Holly and her brother at the start is so telling of her character even then--such a manipulative bitch! Her mother was probably the reason she became that way, though. Trudie Styler as the mother reminds me so much of Jennifer Saunders' character from "Absolutely Fabulous".
