  • Bravo Bravo no qoment

  • wow....er spielt unglaublich!!!

  • PENA QUE E' SO 1 MINUTINHO.....

  • PENA QUE E' SO' 1 MINUTINHO......

  • he may be holding the bow 'wrong' but if he's getting that type of tone then all power to him. i think technique is viewed much less analytically when you are at that level-- like if you sound good then that's all people should really care about-- music is not meant to be visually aesthetic. haha but that's my opinion.

  • dear 'joegrace22' why you are so stupid..that is his nature way of holding bow that is not wrong...jzpatelut.....

  • I wish I could hear him better.

  • I would love to hear it all. Does anyone know where I can find the full concert?

  • It is hard to tell from this angle, but if I'm not mistaken it looks like a Russian-influenced bow hold where the second knuckle of the index finger rests on the stick of the bow. Haha, sorry to wax so nerdy :-P Beautiful playing!

  • Ben Chan, you are so nerdy I can't believe it. I have been reading your thoughtful comments and you've said everything I wanted to say and more-I love it! In this video perhaps Khachaturian would have liked his bow hold anyway--since it's so close to a Russian influence, perhaps there is some relation to the Armenian style in the music as well. What do you think? Have a good day, and thanks for making violin music so much more interesting on youtube!

  • You're welcome, and yes, I'm a serious nerd (but not afraid to admit it... uh, yeah) I actually think you're onto something here- I bet people back then played in the style of the region where the piece was composed. Kinda like Saint-Saens (French) writing Intro and Rondo Capriccioso (Spanish). Anyways, guess that's enough nerd-icizing for the day :-)

  • i hear the people saying if it aint broke dont fix it but if his incorrect bow hold is going to cause him to get tendonitis in later life, perhaps he should.

  • He plays beautifully. Where's the first part of this concerto?

  • He's not actually holding the bow right. His hand adjusts suddenly, not gradually.

  • I think we can't see the right angle to critize that, but he holds the bow perfectly, just listen to the sound that he's able to produce

  • no one way to play violin......If it ain't broke don't fix it.

  • weeee

  • great concerto
