  • This is AMAZING for a High School production. O.o

  • How come the lyrics of the song is different form the written script? I am in GODSPELL right now and that's not what the book says.

  • again, these are the updated lyrics found on the 2000 off-broadway album. mti, who licenses the show says you can do either the original lyrics, or the new ones. i chose the new ones. did you at least enjoy the performance?

  • Yes I enjoyed the performance. I am glad it was licensed by mti. There is huge penalties for changing a script around under the schools contract. I thought you changed the words. I know that there are 2 versions of the script. Idk that you used the other one.

  • well you ARE allowed to change the script for godspell, as long as the parables and the songs are still in tact. you're allowed to write in your own jokes and what not though, stephen schwartz even encourages it!

  • I love their voices. :]

  • Really good voices. I'm personally partial to the original words because I think they fit with the rhythms better, but I'm probably just biased because I heard the original version first.

  • woww that was really impressive!! nice work guys

  • You guys are great!!

  • Great Job HERE!

Jman! Were u in this number? I am playing the role of Jesus for the second time. I did it once in 8th grade, but i feel that i'll be better now cuz now im almost a Senior! I wasnt in this number when I was in 8th grade, but hopefully this year I will.

  • hey there! thanks so much! i was not in this number, i just directed it! it was my senior year and i thought it was time to direct something and have something run by ALL students! I'm glad you liked it and good luck with your show! i'm sure you'll be fantastic :)

  • i'm gonna be the girl who sings real fast...

    thomas...

you got any thing toi help me?

  • yes, i would just start by saying everything very slowly, until you've got the rhythm down, and gradually speed it up until you get to where your director wants it. that part is the motor of the song when everyone sings together. good luck :)

  • What song does she sing?

    X's

  • who? the girl who sang fast? she was Robin, who sings "Day by Day". Or did you mean someone different?

  • No that's great thanks.

It's because I'm doing this production withmyCollege and I want to know who sings what.

    Thank you.

    X's

  • this was amazing, best tower of babbel ive seen :)

  • this was really good. i loved the harmonies towards the end

  • Our school production used the non-musical opening sequence. I like it better with music.

  • all the words are really different than any version i've ever heard?

  • theyre the updated lyrics. you can hear them on the 2000 revival cast with shoshana bean, leslie kritzer, capathia jenkins, and barret foa as jesus :) did you like it though?

  • All-student run? That's amazing! Everybody in this was really talented. Good job!

I love how you have Shoshana Bean in the tags.

  • Yes it was, thanks! I directed it actually, as a senior in high school, so that means a lot! :)

As for Shoshana, haha, yeah, I figured it's get more views that way lol.

  • this is really good, awsome job!

  • Amazing job!

My school is working on Godspell now, and you did a great job! I'm playing socrates and I have some great inspiration now!

  • Thanks so much! I directed this last year as a senior in high school and we worked really hard! :)

  • Wow! Great job on what has to be one of the hardest songs to perform in the history of musical theatre. Great voices and enthusiasm. Awesome!

  • this is an overall AMAZING PREFORMANCE OF GODSPELL IVE SEEN ON YOUTUBE...GREAT JOB...I WAS IN IT MYSELF AND I HAVE TO SAY IT BRINGS ME BACK...IM JUST SUPRISED HOW THERE IS NO COMMENTS ON THESE VIDEOS...

  • well thanks! it was an ALL student-run production. i directed it (i was a senior in high school) and we worked SOO hard. everything from the costumes, set, pit band, music directing, producing, choreography and everything was by high school students. I'm glad you liked it :)
