  • I am surprised that you didn't get a Reciever Block that would have made it easier on you as you put it together. Great Video Bro Keep up the great work and keep the muzzle down range and keep on rockin

  • Great video That was a good Idea using a wooden malet. The music ROCKED Im going to get my 2nd AR in parts so that I may put one together.Any ideas on a good manufactor for getting parts kits?

    Thank You

    Clayton

  • If this is for instruction why not talk people through it instead of the "music"?

  • Your information on the direction of the detent pin for the selector assembly is correct. The other guide was wrong. I'll pester them instead. Nice vid.

  • Another guide said that the detent pin for the fire selector should go into the whole with the point facing out of the whole. I'm not sure which is correct but it seems to me the purpose of the point is to align the spring with the detent pin to prevent binding.. I'm going to find out which is correct. Just a heads up.

  • i rather use mil spec trigger kit . No need to buy fancy trigger kit.

  • It's a cop-out to install the bolt catch before the video. That's the hardest part!

  • @uraijit Also, installing the front takedown and detent, another HUGE copout. That's the second hardest part...

  • i love how nearly all of his tools consist of a wooden hammer a drill bit and a pencil....

  • hey nice vid... how much did it cost you to put everything together? what brand did u buy? and where did u order your stuff? i live in california and is planning to built my own AR15... and is trying to get advice.. thanks

  • @hmglor

For those asking about cost, from my experience building one of these, it is cheaper to just buy one, unless you already own the tools. In order to assemble the entire rifle precisely, you need the proper tools, and they can be damn expensive. When you start throwing in the cost of the parts, for instance the trigger assembly can cost hundreds if you get a high-quality one (match barrels are even more expensive), the cost is every bit as much as an assembled rilfe and then some.

  • hey aerodynamicband, I say its better as you know what your putting into your rifle as in quality parts and no the standard stuff.

  • Sleepsnoors, This rifle was lost of fun to put together. I still am searching for an M4 upper that I want. Cost wise everything turned out smooth for my current setup. (see my completed vid.) Other M4 rifles can be found priced just right in the store if you shop around but yes this is a special rifle because I know what is in it. This was my first run at building it without any knowledge and the vid show my first attempt with success! Wish every one well and ask questions if needed.

  • is buying a stripped lower and upper and assembling them cheaper than buying an assembled ar?

  • To aerodynamicband and sleepsnoors, both are right. I had lots of fun and pleasure putting the rifle together. Although the upper was purchased pre-assembled due to the circumstances but had lots of fun putting the lower together. I was also happy that the lower was so easy to assemble. True, I know my rifle better because i put it together myself. Cost wise, for similar types I'm saving about $400 but some factors vary. The M4's have a good choice in the store, ready to take off the self.

  • Just in case you haven't read the news, the rifle is complete!! Search my other videos for news and the latest videos! Thanks for watching!

Details and special information about the new setup in my new video.

  • I'm happy to hear you all got yours. I was just left sour with my experience with D.T. Seems like most received theirs sooner than my long wait. :-) Post your vids, I can't wait to see!

  • I placed my order on January 10th, 2009.

  • just got my order from del-ton on 9/3/09 after ordering back on 3/3/09. well worth the wait. awesome rifle. good communication when i emailed about the wait halfway through. no complaints here.

  • After waiting for WELL OVER SIX MONTHS I have decided to cancel my order with Del-Ton. I continued to try and get results with their sales support and manager but to no avail. Their manager just seem to be even worst and just did not care. Their site posts a message that there is a 12-16 week wait. THIS BS, I waited WELL OVER this time frame. When I first ordered, it was just six weeks! ENOUGH BS DEL-TON, I'VE HAD IT WITH YOUR MONKEY BUSINESS! BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can you just go to gun expo

  • I could but what I have seen there, it was not pretty. So far, about four different events with no luck finding what I like. Most of the tables just have your average barrel.

  • what song is this i like it alot =)

  • whats size trigger/hammer pins dpms used is 154 or 176

  • Thanks for the post...very helpful

  • Here is just a quick update. I'm still waiting for my upper receiver. :-(

  • order it from Del-Ton?

  • Thanks for posting. I might have to re-think the video and try to find a way to get Accept Balls to the Wall back on it without Youtube having a problem. The music was added in by Youtube as an option. I'm still waiting for my upper parts kit and will post updated videos when they arrive.

  • could have made better music but video was good

  • jabendan, I did but added background music to it and it got removed when I uploaded to youtube due to a copyright issue. Instead of sitting down and repackaging everything over two hours, I just decided to let youtube pick the tunes. Other than that it should be a straight shot of putting it all together with the instructions given in text. You can always ask too. :) Thanks for you comments.

  • why don't you narrate this damn video so everyone can follow what you're doing instead of the stupid soundtrack?

  • What kind of lower was that ???

  • DPMS .223 lower.

  • Thank you for posting this. It is very helpful information.
