  • Those american bumpers...

  • i have one just like this. mine just needs a lot of fixing up.

  • I see a Mitsubishi Montero near the 300d: it's a great 4x4: a large number of Paris-Dakar won.

    ... better then your 300D ;-)))) ;-PPPP

  • @ImperoRomano I would have to disagree, neither is better than the other. I loved driving the 300D before I sold it and I still enjoy driving the Mitsubishi. It is our "Road Trip" vehicle. I think the 300D will last longer because it's diesel and isn't made of thin Japanese steel, but Japanese drivetrains are well proven to last long too. The Mitsubishi also gets exceptional fuel mileage for a vehicle its size (23 MPG highway)

  • @ImperoRomano

How, in the name of God, can a piece of Japanese rubbish even be compared to the finest EVER automobile to grace this planet!

  • DUDE STOP BRAGGING ITS JUST A FUCKING CAR

  • @gunsrule223 any car is just a car, really. This particular car was actually the most annoying one I owned. If you don't care about my opinions, just don't watch the video :]

  • i have seen better

  • so a tach came standard in a 300D? b/c I have a 240d 1982 and I wanted to get a stock looking tach, but I cant find any directly for a 240D. I find that odd b/c the 300D's were auto only and a 240D offered Manuals but no tach.

  • @adamslurch71 I think they were standard with the Turbo models. We looked at an '82 240D with a good ol' stick shift a while back and the only way to know when to shift is to listen to that engine...i kno, the tach didn't make sense to me either but it is what it is.

  • @glokc19 well actually they have "shift point markers" just on the inside of the speed, right around 24mph, 38mph and 60mph. at least that's what I have found as the max of the stock gears.

  • @adamslurch71 yeah, even the automatic 300d turbo and my current 300SDL turbo has those (videos of that coming eventually :])

  • Nice I just got a 79 300SD that's the same color or should be anyway. I'm going to get it painted fairly soon.

  • awesome! have the same car back in India, picked it up in the US in 95 n brought it back, same colour too!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this video, thought it was lost for ever.

  • This car is in perfect condition. It looks great, you own the best mercedes ever, never let you down . Maybe i say that because i own the same... Im from france and its cool to see those cars in the us . Peace

  • love the euro headlights!

  • Nice car! The polished alloys look great with that color.

  • Epic? Really?

  • That`s a CAR! Peaceful times... nice mercedes

  • It is good that you keep it original because the 14'' are getting scarce. Very nice car; I like the euro spec headlights !

  • coolies!

selling my sl 500 this week, hopefully. will be getting a 300d. question is, which one?

can't wait. have always wanted one of these. classic car!

and i agree with you. keep it original. hate it when people put wheels on a car where they don't belong.

  • the american bumpers look so weird.. :P

  • I love the music. I've always loved Queen. I don't know who the other music is from, but I like it.

  • I love the headlights. Why they were never sold like that here in the USA is beyond me. Awesome!

  • i'm drooling, you have one epic car!

    the classic look is great

  • dude get some 15s off of SD or E model...they look alot better

  • I prefer the older look.

  • do you know aboout how much miles per gallon does a 1985 300D Turbo Diesel gives you thanks

  • You get about 33 miles per gallon highway and 28 city.

  • Hey its me again, where did you get the chrome fenders for your wheel wells? Im looking into those too!

  • Again, EBay. You'll find anything for these cars there. That and the reliability of these cars makes me a loyal fan of them.

  • Great looking car

  • Great car. I'm looking for one myself.

  • ok dude. You really are being a douchebag right now. I'm afraid i have no choice but to end this annoyance.

  • I just got a 1985 MB 300 turbo diesel its a great car I love it and it saves me cash XD.

O yeah can you give me any advice or tricks of diesel cars thanks

  • Yeah i've got some.

As long as your car was well maintained, then you shouldn't worry about much if you change your oil every 4000 miles (change the cleaning element every 8000), clean/change the air filter every 25000-35000 miles, and change any leaky gaskets or hoses. Also, if the car feels underpowered, try adjusting the valves and/or changing the fuel injectors. Finally, if it's hard to start your car, you should change the glow-plugs if it's not a battery or alternator problem.

  • nice car

  • i got a mercedes 1983 200d the car is over 20 years old now, still works perfectly ,merc's are wonderfully engineered cars noting quite beter then them. and i fell in love with your 300d

  • Great car man. I have a 1985 300CD turbo, two door, sunroof and diesel. Does yours shift kinda hard? or is it normal?

  • It shifted hard the first two months I had it, until i changed the vacuum pump.

Now it shifts flawlessly, and the vacuum-powered door locks work properly.

  • Love it! Mines a 1975 Mercedes Benz 300D. Yours looks mint! :-D

  • I love that car!!! Im thinkin of gettin one. Is it reliable? Does it require alot of maintanance?

  • if you do it all right, then you can easily service it yourself. however, since it is an old car, you may run into some minor problems now and then.

nothing too bad though. the worst problem i got was brake failure, but that was only because some idiot left some packaging foam in the master cylinder, so that wasn't mercedes' fault.

i've had this car for 2 years and have only driven it about 1200 miles since i got it.

  • I have a 1982 300 CDT 330,432. miles and will still squak the tires from 1st. to 2nd. with an automatic. love the w123 MERC'S. Arlington Tx.

  • I just bought my dream car also...and I am in love with it! 1983 300D turbo, same color shown here. I also have a 1986 190D. they are lovely machines.

  • I just bought my dream car....woooot...loving my 300D....

  • @pittapitta : I saw your car; it is beautiful ! I saw that you are in Alberta, I own a near mint 1985 300D and I am in Petawawa, Ont.

  • I have a 1981 300D, a 1985 300D (Federal), and a 1985 300D (California). There is NOTHING like a W123 Mercedes. Great video with Queen. It is my theme for my 1985 300D (Federal).

  • thanks!

mine is a california, but i wanna put a cold air intake kit one day :D
