@Midchrome Photoshop's pen tool with a tablet (*Usually* -- we do have a few Gimp users, and one CorelDraw if I recall. So long as the style/lineweight can be matched we don't really care. )
So I saw that you guys are looking for animators and people to do inking, and I'm considering helping out. However I want to know what your definition of inking is compared to mine (to be sure we're on the same page). Is that when you take the animation sketch and make a cleaner outline and then color it? And if so, how does one go about doing this, each individual frame with Photoshop or GIMP?
@AnakateH8 You got it in one :) We generally prefer people to use Photoshop, though GIMP (or various other programs) is fine, too (assuming you're well familiar with it, and can match our line settings.) Final files are all turned in as PSDs, so that we don't lose any information in the transfer.
I don't know why anyone would try and steal this, I mean, alot of people already know Silver Sky is making this, so why try and take it? And if I was better at animating I would have that contract signed in no time, but sadly I don't have time for animating...
@Spartarockz3000 Early on (VERY early on) there were no contracts and we had major problems -- things were leaked and certain things had to be completely redone due to disagreement on who owned copyright to them. The current contracts are fairly lax; they're an NDA, they secure rights to art made for "Wolf" to Silver Sky, and they tell you what you can and can't do with anything you make for us. They don't have a requirement for how much work you have to do for us, or anything like that.
@silverskystudio well would it be possible for me to help without the contract, I won't even say anything about it or let anything get leaked, i'll pretend like its nothing cept for the parts I would have to do, but I might have them in an animation dump from some random time in the future....how is copyright confused, who ever made it, thats theirs cept the characters right?
@silverskystudio nope my parents don't care what I do they would be like o.o ok yeah you go and do what ever it is that you do. I just don't want to go through the mess of reading and all that contract stuff. Prob take 4ever to get my mom to do it just because she forgets so easily or she gets distracted XD besides I don't think im good enough.
@Spartarockz3000 I think it's just to protect both parties. It's nothing against you or saying that you're not trusted. For example let's say a person was on the team and made up a character design and SilverSky used it, and a year later the designer was like hey man you can't use this, you stole my art and this is copyright to me and you have to remove it. Then this puts both parties in a bad situation.
hope that clears up a little more on the copyright reason of the contract!
oh man, I wish I could help finish the movie, but I'm still learning how to animate and don't go to art school, I'm teaching myself, so I got to wait and watch :3
@DarkeWolfie Nope. Can't imagine where she'd have gotten that idea. No money goes either direction on this project (unless you *want* to donate, but that's totally optional). Now, we don't provide equipment either, so maybe that's what she was thinking of. But basically, no, you don't have to pay to be on the team.
@Neopets112 Just check out the website and look for the "Contribute" section. Wish I could give you a direct link, but YouTube won't let me do so in comments. The site link is on our channel.
NOW we're talking! This is wayyy better than ur first finished scene that have been added on youtube. The raws have always been beautiul, but now the ink and colouring are improoving too.
@wq47Dyami Marji4x (who animated this shot) is formally trained, and, in fact, works with a professional animation studio (if you've heard of Word Girl, she's on that team).
@simplyscar well... it's not *easy* necessarily, but not difficult, either, if you're already experienced as a figure artist. It is time consuming. It takes a good sense of anatomy and a long study of motion and timing
That looks very professional and smooth. Great work! Tell that to all of your animators, too! I just can't wait to see the move. Once again, great work! :D
I......Can't......WAIT!

do we really have to have a contract? Why can't we just help instead of going through all that madness?

@Spartarockz3000 Unfortunately, no, you'd have to sign a contract. You've heard the saying "Once bitten, twice shy?" That's us!
Are you concerned about parental approval?

My mum won't let me sign up to help (as cleanup/colour artist) because she said she'd have to pay - is this true?
