  • The Azden short setting made it sound like he was a bank teller. The Azden long setting was the best, although the built in also worked well. But that doesn't work outside cause sound gets carried off/no windscreen...

  • I think the Azden sounded better then the senheiser on the long mode .

  • god the azden sucks. I has like literally no bass response at all.

  • @BenHughesStudios

yea your right, or at least from that position it does, there are tricks you can do to get better sound, all the mics had the same placement, and in this situation it was not the best placement but because they were the same you can tell the different, I say different tools for different jobs but if you using a shotgun on an hv chances are your working with no budget anyway

hope this vid was able to help you

  • @BenHughesStudios the mke was much worse...I think the azden did good in tele or "long" or w.e. but the other setting sucked.

  • the azden has cleaner sound

  • i thought the onboard camera was the best actually

  • @FINADDICT82

I think it had the most echo and can hear the fan in the backroom, its not bad for home video, but if you need a cleaner sound or something with more of a filter on it, then an external mic is advisable

  • Man I learned alot ..which is great..I love your info vlogs..yeah I think I would also agree saying the sennheier sounded the best to me all around..but I'm not huge yet into mics..one day when i get some more money I hope!!

  • @scorpioizzle1511 yea I want to get my hands on a Rode VideoMic and see how that does against the sennheiser mke 400,

i may (well I was but its raining today right now) going to do the same mic comparison but out side by a street / and in a park, (I have an outdoor shoot on Sunday but I don't want to use more than 2 mics during this job, (one hand held one shotgun) I'll prob end up using the sennheiser shotgun)

  • Hey man, I think the Sennheiser won that one and the built-in mic would be a close second. There was just something about the Azden that didn't hit it off right with me. Although, each mic probably performs better in different conditions so further testing would need to be done before we had one Ultimate Mic lol

  • @obviouslylamay notice the built in has the most echo, so in an open space it is alot more omni directional it would pick up everything

the azden seemes too have a higher pitch, i sound more through my noise

the Sennheiser I sound deaper, but you can also hear more background noise, like in this you can here a fan in the back room

there is another shotgun mic that I want but its pretty expensive, the sennheiser isn't mine

  • @toadenk Cool, I'm just going with my stock equipment for now.
