I read somewhere that Peter Collins had a certain animosity against Tony Brooks because Tony was offered a seat in the Aston team thanks to Peter. Tony did so well in such a short time, without the years of practice that Peter had, that this created a rivalry towards Brooks. Maybe this could be the reason why Peter overcooked it at the Nurburgring racing against Tony Brooks...

I think it is more likely that these two, so different out of the cockpit, were simply racers to their fingertips. Moss had been in the lead but retired so there were three cars dicing for the lead on the most formidable circuit in the world. Collins was very unlucky in that he went slightly wide at a right hander. Unfortunately the car clipped the grass verge and overturned - throwing him out. It was a fearful price to pay for a small mistake.

Lucetta Musso, daughter of Luigi Musso died this morning 28th October 2007. She was a dear friend to many, many people & a truly beautiful person. It is a sad loss & she will be greatly missed. She spoke often of her father with love & admiration, I know his death was a huge loss to her as a child & throughout her life. She would be so pleased that racing fans remember him in this touching video.

May their spirits be reunited. Our love to Lucetta, where ever you are.

Ferrari drivers to a man and all (with the obvious exception of Hawthorn) died at the wheel of one of Enzo's cars. Featuring Castellotti's needless tragedy and alluding to Ferrari's non-committal reaction to it. Collins had been married to the lovely Louise King for only a few months. Hawthorn is shown supporting her - with only four months left to live himself. A very moving video indeed.
