the question is.. would you listen to this in ur car with the windows down? no, but i would listen it to on youtube in my crib where no one else can see me. shhh it's a secret
aesop rock is very creative, good production, decent flow, etc. but i've never been able to tell what he's rapping about. sounds like rhyming gibberish.
i heard of this asap rocky dude, he copies his name off Aesop Rock and fucking sucks at rappin. since when can a bitch rapper take the name of an underground legend and make shit music? i fucking hate this new wave of rap/hip-hop music. We gotta bring it back, waaaaaaay back.
@TheEpidemik669 I'll admit that the modern mainstream hiphop (a la Drake, Wiz, Lil Wayne) is pretty whack, but I think ASAP Rocky is part of the ASAP crew or whatever (thus that portion of his name) and his name is Rocky. I don't think he was intending to jack the name. But yeah, Aesop Rock... YYYYYYAAAAAAA
@aahxzen Aesopica was a bunch of story written by Aesop he was a Greek slave who wrote story's. he was famous for his use animals being depicted as humans, ie. None shall pass art. "why are the people dressed like animals?" remember think about the over all metaphors with Aesop rock.
@secrets0stolen "Lost lamb returning to the fold" is also a Biblical reference which Darneille does a lot (so does Aesop Rock). So he might have used it in a song I'm not aware of, or it's just a cool reference. I have a feeling that string of lyrics has a collective meaning as well as being references, and comment if you see any references I missed.

@DEATHBYSOCIALIST how could you say Aesop is to good for tech? Obviously you don't know shit about either of them? They have said multiple times they are about making music and wanting others to her their form or art? So neither is conceded enough to be "to good" for each other! Do be uneducated next time you try to speak (:
I like both tech and Aesop but they are two totally different styles that could mix beautiful! And tech is not a juggalo you ignorant fool! He is the number one independent rapper in the world meaning he has his own record label!
I love Aesop Rock, so dope with his complete own style. I love how he does things his own way and still keeps it honest. I am actually trying to do the same. I am a new rapper who just put out my first ep. I'd love it if you went to my page to check it out and told me your thoughts. Thanks for the time! Take Care!

@ThisAccountIsFknHxC None the less yes he is a Juggalo which completely destroys his credit im not saying hs bad hes got a good flow and sick delivery speed all im saying is i dont think you should mix alright artist with great artist granted tech will always be better then yo gotti, gucci, lil wayne etc etc he just dosent even come close to touch anyone on Rhymesayers there styles are just too different dude now maybe some tech nine with some MF DOOM or Talib Kwali

@Danicus513 eminem is hands down the best mainstream rapper, when it comes to underground, hes not even close though, for white rappers there is aesop rock, ra the rugged man, ill bill, apathy, diabolic, vinnie paz, sage francis, slug, it seems like the white bpys are dominating the rap game now lol
did anyone notice that guy "blockhead" is sitting at the table in the beggining of the video? between 0:24 and 0:26. the guy who makes aesops beats. or did, i dont know if he still does.
im gettting tired of the people who keeps posting that they read a book about how the rappers wrote the lyrics... if you have read it then just tell us even if its a lil bit just tell us im no going to buy the book cause of you i just want to know. and by posting about how you read it i dont believe you and believe you are just copying and pasting
that's rad when her hand gets slit off and all the blood starts spurting out in the bathroom mirror!!!! reminds me of an old SNL skit that made me bust a gut hard.

he has some cool ways of coming up with the lyrics and notating them as well, its really interesting book, they interviewed all the underground& classic hiphop groups for it
@MrNocturnal123 this is indie rap, it's really not that far of a jump from indie rock, specially from a production standpoint, it's amazingly easy to blend vocals from all genres using pro tools and now with 9 it's that much easier, once you lay down a beat with a set tempo and bpm it's just a matter of the talent on the other end to get in the booth and do their thing, then you just synch em up

Lil wayne isnt even the same genre. This is hip hop, its art. Lil wayne is comercial, its unorigional flashy and obnoxious noise with poor, lazy, and meaningless lyrics. Oh, and lil wayne sounds like hes eating a rusty cock twenty four seven too.
@cjaychoy waynes one of those swagger club rappers. the biggest poser ever in my opinion. but tons of people love that crap.iit pisses me off that hes even successful and taking the stealing away the spotlight from true artists. personally im into total underground lyricists and indie labels. you can actually hear how intelligent they all are. and they dont do it for money or recognition. they do it for the love. and its fucking incredible. but its not everyones style. to each their own.
i have a question for hip hop fans... i found this through John Darnielle and i was wondering, does Aesop Rock memorize these lyrics for live shows? cuz thats a fucking lot to remember lol
@TedEdFred21 from what i understand, all underground emcees like eyedea and aesop memorize all their lyrics, i saw eyedea live and talked to him before his show and he said they just kinda wing everything up on stage they dont plan on which songs they will do so he had to have memorized all his stuff
Attention to all the Hip-Hop Heads!!!! on Sunday October 24 everyone must view and Click on the 'Like" button on the Now & One Twenty video in honor of MC Eyedea of Rhymesayers and his legacy. copy and paste this on every REAL Hip-Hop video you watch. - R.I.P. Eyedea AKA The Great White Hype

Tech isn't emo.
HE'S A MENTAL GIANT and a fucking genius dumass.
He collabs with anyone he worked with the Deftones, Hopsin, Chino XL, not just ICP.
Don't talk shit about an artist you don't know shit about, Tech is a lyrical genius.

So thanks for proving you don't know anything about Tech N9ne, idiot.

Let me attempt an Aesop Rock rhyme.... I love lounging a burger at a person's face who has disgraced my name in shame and...eh? FUCK!!! I failed!
Aesop Rock. ::LAUGHS:: Eric you have a lot to learn young Padowan, seems to me like you choked on that burger way down your throat.

Almost everything on the None Shall Pass cd has one hell of a bassline. Simple, but really, really sick.

i have a question for hip hop fans... i found this through John Darnielle and i was wondering, does Aesop Rock memorize these lyrics for live shows? cuz thats a fucking lot to remember lol
TedEdFred21 1 year ago
@TedEdFred21 Yes, Aesop Rock memorize's all his lyrics, just like (I'm hoping) most rappers.

@TedEdFred21 from what i understand, all underground emcees like eyedea and aesop memorize all their lyrics, i saw eyedea live and talked to him before his show and he said they just kinda wing everything up on stage they dont plan on which songs they will do so he had to have memorized all his stuff
