How to speed up windows 7 boot time

don't set the number of processors. First off all the processor doens't affect the boot time as much as the harddrive and second windows already starts with as many cores as there are available.

FYI, the main culprit for slow boot is a multi platter hdd with a bad performing disk cache.

AdarkContract, I changed the number of processes on my computer when I had a ssd to get a faster boot time because I have a 990x cpu. I selected the highest in the menu and during the windows load screen it went blue and blue screened on me. What the hell does that mean?

@MegaPoopFish Do what? I use 2 hard drives on all my desktops. 1 for data and 1 for operating sys. AKA Boot drive. Use a SSD 60gb or bigger. message me for more info.
