  • jodeme flaco,,,

  • this is like somethin from family guy.. peter griffin on bass

  • @skintrade id love to see peter griffin rape a bass like this

  • the police sirens where I live play this... redneckvilla

  • siempre hace lo mismo, y segirá así porque no sabe hacer otra cosa más que el mismo solo de siempre...

  • Is he double thumbing in this one?

  • he did not look very happy

  • Quahogs anyone?

  • I agree. I have met him, & he is a douche.

  • @SHlTSACK I met him a few times across a week in professional and casual situations and he was pretty far from a douche.

I guess you guys may have got him on a bad day, or he's changed a lot since I met him.

  • the guy is amazing... really really amazing but that doesn't stop him being an absolute douche

  • @basslaxman I guess he had a bad day. Happens. He's one of the nicest people I've ever known.

  • exellent

  • holy shit, that was amazing.. was that stu or someone else covernig?

  • stu

  • What is he doing in the Peavey stand?

  • Well, first was hartke, then he change to peavey because he was working with them on a new amp, but he now is hartke again because the proyect didn't work.

    Sorry for my bad english.

    Good Luck

  • STUART HAMM!!!! AWESOME BASS PLAYER

  • * HAS A REPLY TO CaiptanStriker.

  • stu is not human!!!!

    jesus christ he's fkn amazing!!!

  • u = douche bag.

Its a little song that he wrote. It has structure, key signature, and a time signature, Like every song ever written. And even if it was any random slapping in random chords, its better that anything that you will ever think about creating. Shut the hell up and think before you speak. Stu Hamm is a beast

  • The song is Foggy Mountain Break Down. A banjo song written and played by the banjo master himself, Earl Scruggs. What the hell is a bass player doing playing a damn banjo song on a bass?

  • playing it well apparently. What's your issue?

  • @bassisbass because hes a beast lol

  • i had to reply and say you are all non technical humans

  • I don't think you understand music at all....

  • you haven't have any idea of what music is man... music is so much more than making people dance or shake there heads. so go on, play this on your bass big mouth, put the camera on and send me the link to your video, thanks boy

  • go listen to the moon glow u fuckin GEEK!!

  • OMFG OMFG OMFG!!! how can someone say this!!!! OMFG OMFG OMFG. JUST FUCKING TRY TO PLAY THIS FUCKING SHIT AND THEN COME FUCKING SAY WHAT THE FUCK IS KID'S FUCKING MUSIC ASSHOLE. STUART HAMM ROKS MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ohh man! you really suck! try play this and then talk fuckin' pouser!!

  • ....and you are a massive clart that has nothing better to do with their time but slag off incredible musicians...

  • Music doesn't have to have lyrics but it does have to have RHYTHM.. learn to spell and this has loads of RHYTHM going on... if you can't hear it then you aren't a musician. Sick of morons who think that because they can stick a few loops together in garage band that they are musicians. Really cheapens what the rest of us real musicians are trying to do especially with all that Drum and Bass and garage nonsense.

  • I've always been a fan of Stu Hamm, but this sounds like ass. Maybe because it was recorded with a cell phone? He's a better bass player than I'll ever be, but this was not what I expected of him.

  • what's wrong with this performance?

  • It's such a wierd mystery (or is it?) that Stu switched from his amazing Kubicki basses to the new Fenders. The Fenders are allrigfht, but nothing CLOSe to the Kubkickis... Would a world-class bassist shoot himself in the foot over a silly financial arrangement? What a damn shame...

  • He's awesome.

  • Drosophilamelanogas get real!!!!

  • You really are stupid. Probably don't even play bass.

  • I play alot better then a stupid fruit fly!!!

  • That kicked ass

  • dude, that sounds just like foggy mountain breakdown lol.

  • it is! stu does it the funky way!

  • Seen many concerts in my day and Stu's bass solos are always entertaining. But if you want a real bass slapping good time check out Les Claypool or Primus!!!!

  • or mark king... playıng for level 42

  • A real bass slapping lesson?? You've got to be kidding me. You ever heard of Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten???? You are stupid if you think Claypool is even close to their caliber.....

  • Oh you are quite the vacuous one for sure!

  • yeah... I never really liked claypool either

  • not country music

  • DUH!

  • can talk...DUH DUMBASS, bit SLOW

  • its what this piece is called.

    its swoit.

  • Yeah we heard it a thousand times, but time and time again, those who appreciates bass solo still find it inspiring.

  • frankfurt musikmesse !!!

  • heard this solo a few times before, and the other half as well... awesome, but he needs to make more material, solos and differentiate. I know I can't play that, but he needs to come up with something new

  • @joechucas He has lots of new stuff. This is just one of his more requested pieces.

  • Geez guys it's 1.37 out of his entire 20+ year career give the man a break. I'd like to see all of his doubters get a spot at a bass expo like that. He plays with joe satriani for christ sake. I'm sure the crowd that watched him was thoroughly enteertained.

  • how can u people call this boring

  • awesome !

  • sounds like he's playin a washboard

  • same crap but the bass looks cool

  • as a bass player i have followed stu's playing and i will admitt i have learnt from him,but he is repetetive and he doesnt get better sorry to say it!

  • Indeed..mr. Hamm come up with something new and start playing with some feeling....it just doesnt feel alive if u know what i mean. technique isnt everything u know.

  • He plays it for 20 yrs......

  • if you think it's constantly the same you should have your ears examined

  • it's always the same thing.boring

  • Ok, so being a banjo player, i dont like this rendition one bit.

    It doesnt sound right

and all you others are right, his tone is horrible,

sounds he needs a tone ring, hahaha

    for those who play banjo

  • Stu's been doing this SAME schtick since the early '90s.

  • yeah. not good. tone crap.

  • Good playing. Great player. Sometimes I wish he'd just play bass lines.

Not to mention his tone is absolutely horrible (to me).

    Good player though.

  • When i met this guy In Indianapolis he was the nicest guy in the world and took the out of his autographing sessions to come out of the bar to talk to me by my far for about 30 minutes.. hes a really good bass player, and really nice guy

  • Technically, this isn't "country" music, per se. It's actually an adaptation of the legendary bluegrass tune, Foggy Mountain Breakdown by Flatt and Scruggs. Hamm has taken elements of bass, guitar and banjo with tapping and slap/pop to perform it. I can play about a quarter of the song, but I have a long-ass way to go before I can even hope to play it like Stu.

  • It's good, though

  • Jesus christ, I love that guy....

  • Stu has done some amazing work in the past.. i just wish the guy would incorporate some new ideas for events like these...This looks pretty recent, yet he's been playing this country tune solo FOREVER..

  • yeah

  • lol you guys are fn morons this guy is amazing on bass. why is it when someone is good at playing others say they suck? i guess sucky bass players tour with satch but i guess ppl think he sucks too oh well....

  • this guy is god!!! bastards!!!

  • He played this song at Joe satriani's concert in san francisco

  • Hell yeah, Stu. One of my favorite bass players back in high school, for the reason shown above. Back in the day he had this ridiculous speed-tapping break in the middle...

  • that's a good point...yeah i didn't think about that..i stand corrected but still i think his stuff would sound sooo much nicer if he used a MM

  • they dont have enough frets to play his music

  • if he use'd a MM that song'd sound amazing

  • How do you know that didn't sound amazing live and the camera picked up crap sound. I'd be willing to bet it sound exactly how he wanted.

  • yea but hed look like a fag

  • god stu hams got really fat

  • not great sound, but stu is da man. wot a legend

  • Horrific....
