I'm thinking of actually getting this gun, and I'm very new to airsoft. I like the ump45 in actual video games and reviews of this airsoft gun have been more than reassuring that I won't be disappointing in getting this gun. Is there anyone who's has a bad experience with this gun and if so what? Also any tips on what to get seeing as I am completely new to airsoft, though I have played paintball quite a few times.
he guys look at red dragons airsoft firing test he has hop up adjusted and he has a fully charged battery:) to see the true potential of the gun check out the vid
you guys have to remember what the role of this 'smg' is, close quarters....its not intended to run around the woods sniping ppl, or support fire over some river valley. Its intended as an easily wielded, confined spaces assault weapon. It wasn't intended to be hitting ppl 100 ft away. CLOSE, tight spaces, room to room, not all the way across the parking lot. You want more out of it, buy a G36c for $40(33%) MORE, and you get more. Remember, its not an assault rifle, its a sub-machine gun!!!.
and the inner barrel is only 205mm, compared to the G36C at 257mm, that's 2 inches less, and in airsoft, that's a lot of lost power. So at 340 fps, for that short barrel....the TSD G36C only rates UP to 370 fps and 800 rpm. (all comparisons were TSD numbers)
thats because most of the guns that TSD makes all have high tourqe gears, and motors. My TSD G36k, has a 9.6 nunchuck battery and only shoots 19-19 rounds a minute
What I meant by that was, most guns that have a FPS in the 300-350 range have a much higher ROF than that gun. (since the spring isn't to strong the motor can pull it back faster)
But 340 isn't that strong. My gun is 400-430ish and it will pierce the bottom of a can and shatter glass. I cannot play in any arenas with it, but I use it for woodland play (great range)
I'm a noob when it comes to airsoft and looking to buy this gun as a first. Can you put a silencer on it? What is the best battery it can handle or should i just buy a second of the same kind???
9.6s dont fit without mods, (like no door cover) and that means you should not have the stock folded, otherwise i have heard of custom 9.6s for these umps, but have heard mixed reviews of them
The reason why the BB's go off course is because it's a UMG. UMG's are mostly meant for CQB missions. Also its a fairly weak gun compared to other guns like my G&G SCAR. That can fire at a target about 100 feet away and it was windy and still the BB's hit the target 9 out of 10.
Your reports are pretty good and so are the reviews, but just saying you have to remember that these accuracy test actualy arnt that accurate cause a human is alot bigger than that target so you actualy might be hitting them at 150 feet but otherwise good reviews guys i like them alot and was wondering if you could send me a message on a goood run and gun rifle for around 100-150 please and thanks
If you read this; can you do another part of the firing test that includes HOP-UP switched on please? Im trying to get the hang of adjusting to it and would like a more.. professional? opinion
This gun is something like the M£ grease Gun, which could use both Thommy .45 ACP magazines and MP-40 9mm magazines, just making a little modify in the bolt.
However I'm gonna buy this gun, i love it. It's smaller than a G36 but it has the same range. The only one problem is the magazine, a bit long. Hope there is also a low cap version smaller
You can be indoors and still be realistic. CQB is just a type of combat, that doesn't mean it's any less realistic. I've been to dozens of games where there is a SWAT or MOUT theme to them. The players are the SWAT/Military/whatever and the opposing forces are made up of actors who are not playing like the other team, but rather acting as hostage takers/terrorists/similar. Airsoft Pacific does bi-yearly competitions that are set up like this, with the field being a building they rent for a day.
Yeah you get the guys that paintball that get into airsofting, but they don't change the style of play, they only change the guns they shoot. That's a "paintsofter" :)
SMGs are not made for long outside distances. They excell in close quarters firing. So, it would be real to shoot them inside like special forces and tactical law enforcement.
It's a pretty decent gun. Get a new battery though, the stock one gives the gun a dreadful ROF.
Personally, I would look into a different gun. If you are looking for a UMP and can't afford the G&G, it's fairly nice. (just get a new battery) My friend, who has this gun, hates the high caps though, so you might want to find some others.
actually almsot everything uses a magazine. a clip is for an m1 garand, or bolt action rifles that use stripper clips. sks's also use stripper clips and there are others too.
Well, i just bought one on Airsplat for $100. thats probably the cheapest you'll find it. And it is almost identical to the TSD, but its made by DE (Double Eagle)
Thats why I would gear up the mech box a bit, tighten up the barrel to around 603 and replace the spring with 190. And then... drive it with a systema turbo motor backed by 9.6 volts of NO FEAR!
I gurantee that target at 150 feet will make a little more noise then shown!
actually the double eagle is a version 2 of the tsd. However the only difference is that the magazine doesn't jam as much, and may/may not be important
i have the jg g36c and my brother has the JG Aug... it really depends on how you want to play because the g36c has a higher rof and a little more fps but the aug is more accurate over longer distances and is a lot quieter.

true, but it's better to aim small,
and then miss small.
every time I aim, I always look for a small stand out on the other person's uniform and aim for that.
such as the patch on the shoulder, or a shotgun pouch flap on the front of the vest.

It shoots kind of slow for a smg airsoft gun on full-auto.
JROD9496 3 years ago 2
sounded like the battery needed to be charged. I just got one and its fires much faster then that.
jackel410 3 years ago
Thats because the real ump has a low rate of fire
Dircshnaider 3 years ago
Then why is a UMP a smg when it shoots really slow. I know smg's shoot pistol rounds, but most of them have really high rates of fire.
JROD9496 3 years ago
Because it fires .45 acp and if the rate of fire was higher the recoil would be annoying.
There is also another version which fires 9mm but the mag on that is curve
Dircshnaider 3 years ago
This gun is something like the M£ grease Gun, which could use both Thommy .45 ACP magazines and MP-40 9mm magazines, just making a little modify in the bolt.

b/c airsoft is for realism where ur OUTSIDE but in cqb u r inside some
OSU5312 3 years ago

Also, this gun NEEDS a reshim/regrease out of the box. (My friend's works fine, but it really should be reshimmed/relubed)
I really suggest you look into another gun unless you are set on a UMP. (G&G sportlines are the best guns under 200)
