  • Can you help me? I have been trying to make a doily. I can make the first nine rings with chains beneath, then split ring to the next row. When I make the next row of rings around the first, they aren't letting the doily lay flat. I need to know how to increase that row without messing up the pattern. Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

  • picot is said "ko" like you were saying kokomo or hot coco so it is ko not cot or kot the t is sient.

  • i still don't get it right.... and i've been doing it for seven hours... please, god.... *laugh* i only get a ring but i get it only by pulling a wrong thread....

  • @0502210 I have the same problem!!!! Please let me know if you have figured it out yet! I have been at this for hours!

  • I bought a shuttle 15 or so years ago along with a book. The book was confusing and I decided to wait. Now I can do the stitches but when I pull the shuttle thread to close, all I get is a knotted mess. (so, I'm stupid) I guess I'll just go back to crocheting and knitting.

  • Always pull the shuttle thread taut first, then pull the other thread to a gentle knot. If you do this each time, it shouldn't tangle. Every few stitches, slide the stitches to make sure it is still right.

  • is there a string that you use to do this or can you just use crochet string i just got the tatting shuttle but not to sure what sting to use

  • sassy speaks true, not many know how. u would be hard pressed to begin a tatting club.u would have to teach em first.

  • Finally! I am totally thrilled that you made this video...I bought all that I needed to start tatting, not realizing that very few ppl ALIVE know how to do it...I even asked all the retired women I worked with at "assisted living" but none of them could help they all did crocheting(which I love!) or knitting...even though most of the women are in there 70's or 80's. Sooooo THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!VERY MUCH ...Your going to be saved to my FAVORITES!!
