is happening to a much smaller extent in Canada.Democracy is just a word and governments that call themself that are moveing closer to communist type governments. The power needs to be with the citizens of the world not the rich and corrupt governments that could care less about there country or people. It would be a mistake followed by a blood bath civil war in both countrys witch is going to eventually happen in America if corruption continues.
I'm Canadian and like Americans but now person I know in Canada wants the NAU.If any Canadian priminister sighns that without Canadians agreeing whitch will never happen would cause civil war in America also. Many countyrs hate America and we don't need that put on use and need to stay out of the illegal wars.It would give countrys the perfect oppertunity to attack America. This must never happen and the governments would regret selling out there people whitch I belive is ramped in America and-
back in the day canadian areospace design was mint. we stopped because the united states government..... that now has ufos on cnn.... asked our government to stop.
Unless we are all granted US citizenships, if our Govt gives our rights away anything to any "foreign nation" (term mostly used by US homeland security) being stronger or weaker gives us right to remove our Govt, US must understand this is our homeland only 40 million citizens plus before you get a chance to plant seeds, Canadian plants already grown in US will safe guard this land from you your attempts as a Govt/control, to safe guard this land from US Defense related Govt,-> Eye/Fingers scan
I'm thoroughly disgusted by our constant integration with the US. I support being friendly, but the constant whoring off of Canadian Sovereignty is just too much.
We need to reclaim what we've lost, starting with constantly being shoved toward the American goals.
@TheLastCanadian You are right. Americans have more than 9 million privately owned firearms. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. If it does I'll stand by Canadians fighting for freedom.
I really wish the US and Canada would become one country - with respected jurisdictions - but merging with Mexico, NEVER. Mexico should be part of a Central American Union which we can trade with, possibly as a protectorate which uses our currency but NEVER part of our Union. If birthrate is 1.9 we must also recognize there are not enough jobs for a 2.5 birthrate, we need a 1.9 birthrate to stabilize then we can work on re-building the economy to accommodate a 2.11 - 2.5 birth rate.
@XXXREDROOMXXX I don't know if your American but as a Canadian for us it is a disaster as we would all loose our equity in our homes when the prices dropped on them big time. As American homes are a lot less money than ours.
these points are moot as America has always acted independently on her own. Her Nuke subs have maped and transitted our North West passage since day one. Canada's next evolutionary step should involve the imoposition of sovereignty as it is only NOT recognised by the USA & not the other Artic states.
We will be the ones handing hats out not the USA.
Brilliantly put! I am pretty far left as a matter of pattern, but I agree that we need a bold military presence in our Arctic. Not that a military presence is the best or only solution - I would prefer to see non-military activity, such as more Canadian settlement, but that has more environmental implications than a military presence might. Does anyone else have alternate solutions?

These points are just another rung on the ladder that lead us to a North American Union or in the very least deeper integration and harmonization.
