Such heavy aspiration ruins the piece. She heavily aspirates on the runs creating crispness but sacrificing the beauty of the music. Either way, the voice itself is beautiful!

@SkateNater I agree that the R's can be a bit much - especially in this recording. At least her vibrato isn't forced and fake like the way Genaux uses jaw/mouth vibrato. I suggest you take a look at Bartoli's Met performance of this.

In terms of musicality, there is no equivalent to Bartoli. She owns this piece! I just wish she didn't distort her face so much when she sings. It detracts from the sheer beauty of her voice.

it was different not having a conductor! I liked how she basically conducted the orchestra with her movements:-) The orchestra sounded fabulous and very emotive! I liked how she seemed to pull back her tone a bit on areas(5:45-6:00) she might have chosen to sing mezzo forte... I love whenever Bartoli sings piano. its amazing how some singers can still cut through an orchestra while singing piano!

Bartoli's Cenerentola is by far my favorite, it is just too bad that she has such a small voice in comparison to others. I did not expect that last bit of ornamentation at the end because she normally stays so true. Brava Bartoli!
