  • @ZZZeroGold HTML and CSS are important to learn and be able to write website in notepad or similar text editor, BUT why do it in slower, harder and more boring way, when you can use 960 gs or other framework programs

  • @ZZZeroGold It's a misconception that Dreamweaver is a WYGIWYS editor. You have the option to view your code live. It also suggests code that you need to know anyways before using it. Both features are for convenience, not WYSIWYG functionality. Dreamweaver has a lot of great features for expert programmers.

  • @ZZZeroGold The video is for a Dreamweaver class, so I would be remiss to not teach the given subject. In other courses I teach, I teach with other text editors. Even in Dreamweaver, I teach a lot of the HTML in code view, as you will notice from the video, because it is important to know the strengths and weaknesses of any tool you use.

  • @kerron68 - for this example, yes - but you don't have to use Dreamweaver. It happens to be what I teach, so I keep it similar for my students.

  • dreamweaver?....

  • Thanks is is a cool system i never tried

  • Where do I find the 960 Grid System CSS files?

  • @archedmandible You can go to the website 960.gs to download the files. They also have templates for different applications.

  • @waltdesignanddevelop

    Thanks, I found it.

  • great tutorial. Really helped me.

  • Totally agree with @kaptinook need to make this louder!

    Great tutorial mate, thanks :)

  • @loc72 @electrofemme1 The new things I've done are louder. I'll see about re-recoding these, or see if I can bump up the volume at least.

  • so i need netbeans to get my php to work? cuz aptana no longer supports it :( even with the plugin.

  • @shakaama Just found out that they are putting PHP back in aptana for the next version :) This would work with any text editor - I've even used Notepad++ for some projects.

  • Yes - I'm using Dreamweaver in the videos - covering it for a class I teach. I also use Aptana and NetBeans at my work. Aptana for client side scripting and CSS, NetBeans for PHP editing.

  • hey,

first of all. I just want to say thank you for taking time to try to educate the web community on 960. What editor are you using? Dreamweaver?

  • great video! i don't mean to be rude, but are you sick? or do you have allergies? because sometimes i have difficulty hearing what you are saying, not due to volume, but to enunciation...

  • @electrofemme1 Do me a favour - re do the video and turn up the volume please, its way to low for a good quality video
