  • If only MORE liberal constituents and commentators had the balls to hold GOPers accountable like this.

  • She totally pwned that Republican.

  • TYT

  • Well, he's not a very good politician. A real congresscritter would've never said "you will" in response to who's going to pay taxes. He's real crappy at spinning. It's funny and all, but I'd like to see her take on a real politician in a real situation where there's no script. Most pols don't give up that easy or else they don't get elected.

  • Crazy that this aired almost 10 years ago. Sigh.

  • @moorese07 Try 20 years ago... :)

  • the last accurate portrayal of working class life on TV.

  • BREAK IT DOWN Rosanne!

It's Sad that the SAME Republicant talking points and Corporate Ass Kissing techniques are STILL being used today...

LOL @ "Oh Great, I'll go with you!"

    ^_~

  • Sounds like a politician...Republican or Democrat...and companies pay nowhere NEAR enough in taxes. They have incentives and loopholes they exploit and if they are threatened with having taxes raised they either threaten to jump ship and move operations or they just hike up their prices to offset the decrease in their profits. We, the working man, take up their slack...insanity...tax the poor, preserve the rich.

  • This is an actor being paid to be "owned" by Roseanne. Without a tax incentive the businesses might not open in a town. How does that then benefit the town? And as far as "who will pay the taxes?"... the companies already pay plenty of taxes! Please do your research. The community will benefit from more jobs. The company will be able to hire more people with less of a tax burden, invest more in the company and the community, etc. I hope none of you that have commented below vote.

  • @clairedunaway Please do your own research, two thirds of American corporations pay zero dollars in taxes due to offshore tax havens and tax loopholes. But, oh God yes, let us praise the almighty un-unionized corporation, which buy the politicians that write laws in their favor, for hiring people at slave wages which keeps them from ever being able to...

  • @clairedunaway … claw their way out of the pit of poverty. We should all be on our knees sucking the corporation’s cock of righteousness for moving to the town which they will most likely pollute due to environmental deregulation. Thank Christ there is a new amoral machine, who’s only concern is money, here to give out menial paying jobs and cancer.

  • Except today the Rep would answer the tax question by telling her no one would pay taxes---since the state shouldn't be providing any services anyway, plus lower tax rates equal more revenue. Sigh.

  • Wow when was that aired? probably at least 10 years ago? Some things never change!!!

  • @jkpotesta 20 years ago, actually

  • BRILLIANT. It has only gotten worse too.

  • This is like PROOF that the Republican Party has been taken over by oligarchs who think the American public has no memory, no self-interest, and too much money and time. We hear the SAME lame claims today that the Old Party was making back then. And we witnessed the consequences of their program in the decade of 2000.

  • @keylawk

I just want to point out that the democrats controlled congress back then, much as they have for the past 4 years.

  • Amazing that this originally aired May 12, 1992... and how sad that the pundits are still making the exact same errors.

  • That guy sounds just like a Republican!
