When Frank Sinatra died, one of the magazines asked who was his heir...they said Bobby Darin would have been if he was still alive. Well, I think Bobby Caldwell can sing Darin and Sinatra both fabulously...and he has "Ol Blue Eyes" cool. I vote for Bobby!
I was once lucky enough to work with Bobby doing a background vocal session in LA in the early 90's and his voice was so powerful that he had to stand 4-5 feet back from the rest of the vocalists and the mic. ! Ha! Most don't realize that the timbre of his voice is so thick and smooth that he could project it so well. He is a true american musical treasure and is a singer's singer and musician's musician. By the way, he's also a great pianist and an outstanding guitarist as well.

Loved seeing Bobby Caldwell in Anchorage a couple years ago. Performed with Jeff Golub and Rick Braun. Great voice!
