  • They were the background singers in WHAM! I always loved them ... Their album and music was high qualified in 1987.

  • @khanpreston1

One is married to martin kemp the actor from eastenders and pop group spandau ballet.

check them on google and wiki. Tons of info :)

  • pepsi is a brown colour not hard 2 work owt? :)

  • Hehe, so true. Some people are quite shallow.....:-)

  • pepsi is the dark one and shilie is the white one its that simpel

  • The other one is 7-UP :)

  • I remember this from Middle School. Great song.

  • And Gary Kemp was in the last Christmas video as well......

  • Was he? *checks out me Last Christmas vid*

  • Running through the postings I can say that indeed Pepsi & Shirley were the backing vocals of Wham and they were in the video of Last Christmas!

  • Please, forgive for sounding abit ignorant but ... weren't,'Pepssi & Shirlie,' the back-up singers for the duo "WHAM!?" aka.'The Whammetes!'

  • "aka.'The Whammetes!' " WTF, they were never called that.

Original back up singers for Wham! were Dee and Shirley. Dee went to sing with Paul Weller (swoon) and she was replaced with Pepsi.

  • In regards to the "The Whammetes," I could've swore that I read in an Un-official Biography of 'GM' that th 2 Wham back up singers were un-officially referred to-by fans- as the 'Wham-metes,' out of affection. Not as a spin-off duet or nothing.

  • I remember this from when I was in primary school. It came on cassette with my Rubik's Magic. Awesome song.

  • Oh my God, I still have that - Kid Jenson's Chart Breakers........!!!!

  • OMG that was it!! I need to find that. I remember it also had some classics like "shattered dreams".

  • Living In A Box....

    Johnny Hates Jazz...

    The Blow Monkeys....

I need to find that tape....

  • That guy is not Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet. They may have married but that is not him

  • OMG! I typed it in but didn't actually think it would be on here. LOOOL. I remember this from primary school

  • EVERYTHING is on YouTube....GUARANTEED!!

  • pepsi is my auntie (lawrie) but yeh shes fine last christmas is still a bad ass song !

  • brilliant song ! loved the 80s :-)

  • Oh my god I used to dance like this in the clubs I must have been about 17 - I can still remember the moves and words now - you work out the math?!

  • Ur 57??

  • No, 39 and coming up for the big '40' in 2009! Are you single judging on your maths and ladies ages?!!!?

  • Hi, nah I was only kidding with you! I'm 35 myself!! Where is the time going?? But I remember this as well. Me ladies? Only men for me ;-)

  • Watched Martin Kemp last night and remembered this song, bought it on single, listening now, i still love!!

  • i can hear it now!the Boomer Joe Servantes on Power 106 in LosAngeles.72,000 watts of music power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cracking song.wat happened to these two?

  • Shirley married Martin Kemp (former Spandau Ballet bass player) and they live in/near London. Pepsi vanished for awhile but has recently resurfaced in the London theater scene and has come back full circle, working with George Michael on some of his projects as backup singer.

  • Great 80's.

  • I thought Shirlie was so hot, but I was 17 at the time.... Wait a minute Shirlie is still hot!!

  • married to i mean

  • one of these is martin kemp,

  • i know that was a misprint but that really made me laugh!

  • The main guy in the video is Martin Kemp...as it turns out, Shirley's future husband...interesting twist.

  • Yeah, he was in Spandau Ballet, and he was also on Eastenders. I also saw him on Family with Simone Lahbib. He's a great actor!!

  • are you sure? i still remember Martin, he was different, had a very clear and beautyful eyes, and he was not so young in 1987

  • love this song

  • This was and still is a fantastic song and video

  • it´s my favorite video so when I was in the Army

  • pepsi i still love you

  • I loved this album. I still have the tape around here in a box somewhere. I had the cassette maxi-single of this song too.

  • Quand on pense qu'il suffisait que les gens arrêtent d'acheter pour que ça ne se vende plus.

  • What a brilliant soul pop song! If George Michael has written this song, then he should be ashamed that he has not blessed more acts with his songwriting skills. I see him as talented as Prince. While Prince is the funky one, GM is the romantic and melancholic one. "Talented to a fault!"

  • Yes yes yes bring this back

  • they need to reunite, awesome dance music!

  • written and produced by George Michael. this was their only no.1 hit... says it all doesnt it. gm is a genius.

  • Is it true that Brad Pitt used to go out with one of them?

  • I don't think so. Maybe you're thinking of Sinitta.

  • i loved this song... and now you're giving me a heartache ha ha ha ha ha ha...

  • A pleasant remnant of too many days listening to WQHT/Hot 103 (now Hot 97) in New York City 20-plus years ago.

  • And I still have the 12" single! It's awesome.

  • @loelpolo

You bought this song/album on CD in the 80's ?

I think it was only vinyl back then.

  • CDs were just starting to come out at the time. I remember seeing it in the record/tapes stores on CD. But CD players were so expensive. Not too many people had large CD collections at the time.

  • thats correct, very expensive, I think the first CD's came out in the early 80's.

The real change came around 91.

  • Hi, Tom - its Loelpolo yes the cd is dated 1987 i had one of the first Sony cd players it was the size of a shoe box unlike the ones now, i have alot of 80s music - thanks for the reply - Loel

  • The good old eighties, één van mijn favoriete nummers !!

  • All Right Now is a cover of Free.

  • OMG!!! I remember my mom blasting this song when I was little. Playing it on the record player. It really takes me back. LOL I love the song though

  • Shirlie Holliman looked at her best in the video for Wham's Club Tropicana, where she's with her ex-partner Dee C Lee, who later worked for and married Paul Weller. Shirlie went on to marry Martin Kemp of Spandau Ballet, The Krays and Eastenders fame.

  • id fuckem both..even the dead one

  • A pretty sick comment, especially as both of them are very much still alive.

  • Are u confusing them with Mel&Kim?

  • He IS confusing them with Mel and Kim. Even so, he is still an ass for saying that. So lets not give him the attention that he is craving then, eh? Poor child...

  • The comment was indeed ment for him. But your right, it was a very lame argument.

  • OMG I absolutely loved this song way back when, this song got very little airplay in the US but I remember the teen club I went to played it all the time. Thanks for posting this.

  • they were back up singers for Wham!
