ok i dont know why, but i always get killed when spawning and i cant find anything about this..i did everything just like you did..

If you in fact did hear what I said you would know that you are dying when respawning by one of this 2 reasons

1- You didnt use the Build All option

2- You just inserted 1 spawn point and all the bots and you are getting telegrafed by the others respawn.

Hello Lopeirada, first thank you for this good tutorial.

I understood pretty well how to build a basic room structure, but I still don't understand how work path nodes, I mean ok, I know it is for the AI, so it can find the way easily, but you didn't mention how many path node we need to make in each room and where exactly we need to position them.

@softreaver The path nodes work has a road, bots will only move if there are path nodes, theres no exact number of path nodes per room, just dont fill them up,, hope you understood it

i got about three problems:

1. when i spawn the bots telefrag me over and over

2. when i add light and go to dynamic light thing but when i press build all the lights go dark and all the light is gone like its delete all instead of build all

3. last is sometimes when i right click the menu does not pop on and when i wanna delete stuff they sometimes stay

1- If you only inserted 1 player start, then you need to make more or it will be full of bots wanting to respawn there. -If you have more than 1 player start, make sure you made build all before testing the map, every time you place a new player start you need to use the build all option.

2- "when i add light and go to dynamic light thing but when i press build all the lights" didnt understand it really well, but i think that you mean when you add lights and then go to dynamic lights and build all, you cant see the room, in that case you just need to change the view type, like 3D or something else, belive me, it happend to me once when i was starting mapping XD I lost a map doing that, I tough it was lost :P

3- The menu pop up thing never happend to me, maybe your mouse isnt responding well... - Deleting stuff sometimes is hard and when the delete button doesnt work there are 2 things you can do: 3.1- Right click on the object and on the pop up menu select delete; 3.2- Change the view into 3D view, where you just see geometric lines (no textures just a black screen with lines) and select the object that you want to delete and press the delete button or follow the 3.1 step.

@starter656 .Might be bug or lights are in the wall(solid)-when you move lights they shine through walls lits basicly up everything to their lightradious.Last one is bug- need to recall memory( i suggest this it might work anyway with textures)

I'm sorry but this isn't a really good tutorial on how to make a map. You should explaine more on what "subtract" really does because saying that subtract is what you use to make rooms is accurate but very vague it seems to me that you don't really know exactly what each tool on the toolbar actually does.

save your map with "dm" at the beggining of the name, like: dm_map

Domination map: dom_map

Capture the flag map: ctf_map

assault map: as_map

TeamDeathmatch is the same has Deathmatch, so save the map has dm_map, it will work.

open the music browser near the pawn browser, and a new window will pop up, open the music folder of UT, and then click once on the music that you want on the map, after that close that window and right click on one off the working windows outside the map, and then go to level proprieties and a new window with tabs will appear, then go to the audio tab and then click on "None" of the song list and then 3 buttons on the same line will appear and you click on "use" and there you go.

you probably forgotten to place player starts on the map or you forgot to go to the option BUILD ALL. Try both of these options and contact me again if it works

you have to press ctrl AND leftclick, then hold them both and move the mosue, then ur dragging it.

if that doest work you obviously have the bugged 451 patch, which corrupts unrealed 2.0

OK TO EVERYONE WHO HAS WHITE SCREEN!!!!

Go to the tab VIEW then go to VIEWPORTS then CONFIGURE and just click OK

If it didnt remove the white screens just exit and reopen ut editor.

An ion cannon? Sounds like you used the UT 2003/2004 editor. This tutorial is for the editor which comes with the original UT.

Anyway, what do you mean with locked?
