Not as impressive as your 700 gall. but 30 years ago Aquarium magazine had a how to on a 250 gall. It was cheap to build because it used 2 sheets of plywood that yielded a tank 8' long by 30" wide by 16" deep. The inside was painted with 3 coats of blue marine epoxy. Mine sat on a stand 30" high so you didn't have to get down on the floor to view. Installed 8' flourscent lamps in black rain gutter over a glass top. A lot of marine animals don't require high light and did well.
@bencae i used a video capturing program. i tried a few free programs not sure of any names. i just searched cnet.com and many choices pop up... hope this helps...
hey nice design plan, although i just want to point one thing out to you, if you want a saltwater reef aquarium then theres two things your either gonna have to do, make it a bit shorter so that the light can get through or buy a really powerful light and keep you same plan, Good luck!
@MrNinjaNuker wasn't thinking salt water, but would one day love to try it. thanks for the info... btw this is only going to be 3' deep not the 4' dimentions of the tank, would the light still need to be much poweful?
@apauln sorry if i didnt respond, i might of but i forgot haha. anyway, i think that should be ok for freshwater, but with saltwater some corals like more light than others but all you would have to do is put them near the top, i hope i helped :)
@MrNinjaNuker or maybe you are not sure what you're speaking of, the ocean is pretty deep you know, just admire and stop being so critical, where's your build?
@119Halo Yeah... I wish i could do it but it needs to have exact step by step guide. Otherwise i would be finding the nearest tree and chop it down and find the nearest glass and cut it. LOL
this is incredible. If you have pulled this off, I would love to see it. The thought of having a fishtank taller than me in my own home has always intrigued me. Great video on planning as well....
This is a sick video ive been wanting to build a new aquarium for my pacu and arrowana rather than purchasing one and this video is a good jump start for what i want to do. What program did you use to generate that model?
i been watching his vids for a while, and he seems to be one of the only ones on the internet that have what is basicly a how to build on large, large tanks. i love his tanks.
i could swim in that lol
