  • she so so so nice girl

  • Mumtaz is already beautiful, but her face at 4:05-4:06 is just sexy!!!

  • yup agree wd u

  • @mynameendsina05 Wow, that's interesting. Cuz if I am not wrong, Filmfare (or was it Stardust, not sure) brought her to limelight as a leading actress, and then she was lost forever.

  • how come Mumtaz went on to become a hit actress whereas FJ was limited to side roles.. didnt quite get this!!

  • Both were leagues apart in all the attributes!

  • @arungolas Like? What do you mean exactly?

  • Beauty, looks, talent, acting, dance, ....

  • My favorite Actress and Song

  • nice song with Punjabi touch

  • she can dance,,love da way she moves her body wev the song

  • muito bom...

  • wow nice song

  • this video contains more appeal than that of its remix where three half nude bitch dance.

  • You are very right. All the video remixes simply ruined the old classics. Thankfully the soft-porn wave is over. It is other matter that the trashy and raunchy songs have taken over the movies.

  • Old is always Gold

  • Flawless vocals of Asha Ji doing full justice to Laxmikant Pyare Lal's composition.

  • Mumtaz;s dance steps are excellent. Perfect dancing to the beats of a beutiful pUNJABI song by Asha.

  • A product of wholesome eclectic genius.....None can ever match the Panache and Chutzpah of those years gone by...

  • creepy D:

  • i want the dress mumtaz is wearing...love her shes soo bful man

  • nice song sheri babu,,,,

  • Chorus:

A city boy, a romantic boy, oh my

He tied an anklet to my foot

    I danced around, jingling

  • i just noticed ke is song ki cheography kitni kamal hai...just look at the way mumtaz moves :) she looks so beautiful n fareeda ...mannnn she is BEAUTIFUL

  • In all her songs, Mumtaz dances so well... All her moves are just beautiful... beyond compare...

  • OMG FAREEDA JALAL!!!!!! LOOKED SO YOUNG MASHALLAH WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

i love her she ismy fav. mom actor these days!!!

  • TOP VIDEO.....WOOOP.....WOOOOP

  • Beautiful song.

  • Wah! Kya gaana hai!!! I've always loved this song, but never knew that it was sung by Ashaji and lip synced by Mumtaz. I always thought it was a punjabi folk song.

  • Maybe your feeling is somewhat correct. Maybe it is based on some Punjabi folk song. But this one is from movie Loafer.

  • I just watched the Single Ladies video of Beyonce. It is so refreshing to watch this video after watching those whores

  • @takkari10 I don't think one needs to put someone else down to appreciate one's own.

  • @takkari10 But I don't understand why western women are all whores and Indian women are all chaste? Is such stereotyping justified? I am really curious to know if a western mother also worries about her child when he falls sick or whether she eats up a cake when the child looks on hungry? Women are the same everywhere. So are men. Such labelling is -forgive me- a bit too simplistic .

  • @chitta64 you are so right !!! Pakis all thinkathat their women who are in burkas are pure and all women western and indian , asian are whores. cant expect much from a country where women are not esen in public unless with a male orain a burka. a women is a unique thing for PAKI men.

  • i love dresses in this song and dance is gr8, these r the real movies which based on true store and great songs, gr8 work done in this song

  • These are traditional dresses of Punjab and once again all the girls wear these dresses during wedding times!

  • love dis song!!!!!!!!!!!

    mumtaz rocksssss great dancer x

  • mumtaz is gorgeous..

  • see how properly she's dressed .. n she's looking so impressive

  • WOW!!!!

  • What does koi sehri babu means?

Can somebody please transelate some parts! :D TNX

  • Mumtaz is teasing Farida who is about to be married, so 'sehri babu' refers to her groom who would be donning a sehra - a veil of flowers. What are other parts you want to know more about?

  • Thank you for reacting!

Wel if you want to translate a bit more that would be very nice! It doesn't matter with part. TNX

  • I was once again wondering as to how to go about it. Anyway, Mumtaz is saying that after her engagement, the girl is so happy that she is dancing around with joy, yet does not know how to express her feelings. She feels shy even to look into a mirror, and no longer ventures out. She is unable to sleep as she dreams of him who is taking her away to distant lands...

  • TNx you soo much!!

  • Sehri means from the city as in Shehri but pronounced sehri in a villager's way so she talking about a guy from the city.

  • Sehri babu means 'a well-to-do city guy'

  • Both of you are correct, but in the present context in the movie, it refers to the groom

  • sehri babu= Shahari Babu= City Babu= City Gentleman

  • Can someone post other videos from Loafer. The first club number is classic!

  • the pure indiaan melody composed by the greatest duo LAXMIKANT PYRE LAL and sung ever young asha jee KYA KAAMAL KI COMPOSITION HAY

  • Mumtaz is awesome beatiful...

  • Sweet innocence of old days ... only females singing among females in contrast to the Kanjar Panna of today's bollywood industry

  • what's the name of the supporting actress that is in the freen shalwar?

  • She is Farida Jalal.

  • wonderful

  • beautyful URDU song, URDU itself music, melody, poetry,

another name of URDU is also Tajmahal.

  • To be exact, it is Hindi song with Panjabi words. Definitely, Urdu is more beautiful language. But I don't think that Tajmahal means Urdu?

  • This is Hindi or Urdu. The two languages are grammatically identical and virtually the same language in colloquial speech.

  • The languages may sound to be grammatically similar, being a mixture of Hindi, Arabic, Persian, but the vocabularies are very different. Moreover the scripts have no similarities in any way.

  • They are not just grammatically "similar" - their grammars are essentially IDENTICAL.

You are right about the vocabulary. At the academic or scholarly level, Urdu borrows words from Arabic/Persian while Hindi borrows from Sanskrit. But at the level of colloquial, everday speech, their vocabularies, too, are very similar. The language used in today's Bollywood movies is a good representative of the lingua franca from with both Urdu and Hindi arose.

  • You are very right, except that the influence of Urdu in Hindi Films was more during 50's and 60's. There were some films essentially in Urdu alone, catering towards Urdu speaking clientèle. Gradually, the style's inclination has changed towards Punjabi.

  • You are right about their scripts too. Hindi and Urdu are written in completely scripts. However, the orthography (written form) of the language has little bearing on linguistic affiliations. English, Swahili, and Vietnamese are all written in the Roman script, yet they are all completely unrelated to each other. Punjabi is written in Gurmukhi in India, but Shahmukhi in Pakistan. The difference in writing system does not change the language.

  • das ist real bollywood

    i love this song,i love this music;great

  • very nice song:D

  • Great dance and beautiful shehnai ....

  • she's my fav. actress

  • Lakshmikant-Pyarelal, Anand Bakshi and (for a change) Aasha are at their creative best!

The use of harmonium and shehnai add to the festive mood.

Let me venture and say that the notes of raag mishr Piloo also help to set the mood further right!

Please correct me if I am wrong about the raag....

  • A pretty nice compostion by Laxmikant/Pyarelal

and great singing by Asha. I can't say about the Raag but this song is totally based on a

Punjabi non-film song by Parkash Kaur/Surrider

Kaur ....Kaley rung da paranda mere sajna ne aanda ni mein chum chum rakhdi phiraan...te pabban phar nachdi phiraan.I think Lyricist

Anand Bakhshi might had suggested the tune as well.

  • Mumtaz was the epitome of cute sexiness mixed with loads of talents.. Her little nose, pouting mouth, mischievious eyes and slighly rounded figure helped her tremendously in every way....

he film journey from Dara Singh to Dileep Kumar was in itself a modern Cinderella Story!

may her films always be around for the new generations to watch and sigh..

"how come, I wasn't born so many years ago!!"

Farida Jalal was talented but lacked that glamour which most 'stars' require!

  • Farida Jalal was very pretty herself in fact more than many of hte leading actresses then .. but yes she lacked ooomph and appeal like them..... thats why she didnt do well

  • what does the text mean?? im indian but and most of the time a can understand everything but dis ones difficult :$

  • In the song, Mumtaz is teasing Farida Jalal about her would-be bride-groom.
