I agree the people of Afghanistan should handle their own affairs, but the fact is that there were "invaders" from many different countries and of many different ideologies during the Soviet-Afghan War, and it wouldn't have been necessary had not the CIA interfered in the first place, and had not there been so many rebels who think women should be slaves, and the people kept ignorant.
They are used as objects here, but they have basic rights that many most women do not possess in Afghanistan. Call me ignorant all you want, but I'm not saying this because I think the US is superior to your country or anyone else, I'm just saying it because it's a basic fact-- women are treated as property in much of Afghanistan, and many of the mujahadeen were fighting specifically because of the PDPA's attempts to give equality to women.

Well, your own government needed the "invaders" in 1979 to help put down rebellion fomented by the CIA by those who wanted to return women to a state of chattel slavery, turn back the progress made by the PDPA, and wallow in ignorance, superstition, inequality, injustice and barbarism. They are used as objects here, but they have basic rights that many most women do not possess in Afghanistan. Call me ignorant all you want, but I'm not saying this because I think the US is superior to your country or anyone else, I'm just saying it because it's a basic fact-- women are treated as property in much of Afghanistan, and many of the mujahadeen were fighting specifically because of the PDPA's attempts to give equality to women.
