I am baffled, today I scored 50/50 on the multiple choice, yet only 28/75 for the hazard, it wasn't until after the test I spoke to a fellow testee and found that you have to click at least twice for each hazard otherwise you are likely to click too early and not in the "points window". But surely seeing the hazard earlier is better???? Not according to DSA! FAIL!
passed this this morning, got 67 out of 75, i was cacking it for this test but it turned out to be ok. Click when you see something that could potentially cause a hazard like a pedestrian walking or a car parked/indicating and if it turns into developing hazard i.e. if the car moves out or the person runs across the road then click again, don't be afraid to click 2-3 times for a hazard as it develops. Don't worry if you have 10+ clicks per video as long as you don't go stupid. Good luck!
(continued) Similarly, the video identifies every empty junction ( see from 2:37 - 2:42) as a hazard whereas if you look from 3:00 - 4:15 half the junctions were not developing hazards. This test fails and has not been thought out well. And these are just some of the faults I've found in this video from one single viewing.
Oh Pleeeeeaaase. How the hell are we supposed to see a developing hazard if the video is so pixelated. Half of the hazards were unnoticeable to the normal eye (and I have good eyesight). For example, the 'postman' in the distance at 3:30 wtf - There are other pedestrians also on the pavement, why only recognise postman Pat as the developing hazard? Also we can barely see a pedestrian at 3:06 (Continued)....
or is it that.. you just have to be cautious of these hazards and when one actually turns into a hazard you click?.. or you click for every prediction of a hazard?
I hate this test haha. Failed one bigtime because they was like 'DONT GO PRESSIN DEM BUTTONZ TOO MUSH, U WIL FAIL". So I ended up with like 6 flags at the bottom of the poxy screen for each clip and failed by 1 mark, and thus, failed my theory, by 1 mark. Fantastic.
Maltese Driving tests are based on our EU member the UK. However, I just was wondering if the fail rates are the same in the UK. Here in Malta, around 70% learning drivers who take the test for the first time fail. Thus, only 30% pass on their first try.
I failed mine. I had 100% in the 1st section and fuk all the hazard perception as apperently I was or clicking too fookin much or too late or too early. This is just a way how to justify failing more ppl to amount bigger revenue. My fooking advice....just space the clicks evenly and click around 10 times in each fookin clip to play it safe it wont detect cheating and you surely will pass ( you might have 4-5 potential hazards but only 1 developing jus keep fookin clickin
They're not too bad, and the hazard you'll actually get marked on are pretty obvious. The only real annoying thing is the fact that the videos are of such low quality that you can barely see what is going on. Oh and the fact that if you click on the hazard too soon it will not be marked.
guys, relax :) You are only clicking when there is a developing hazard (which makes you slow down, stop or change direction immediately). But if you click on even potential hazards, you will not be marked down for it. If it helps to know, the clips on he actual tests are easier. Just concentrate & enjoy the ride :) I passed mine, good luck to you lot!
to make things easier just imagine your in that car and as said above if you ever had to go for the brakes because something or someone was in the road, anything thats going to make you stop/slow down/swerve then click. Even click a few times if need be to makes u score :)
well that second clip was bad the driver was shit, drove over the white lines for a little while until cars came, a car in a junction to the left and you move into half the road is called road hog not watcing out the other car should still be in the junction so there is no need to move all that way maybe a foot max. Then if you are a good driver you don't need to tell people you can see it in clips that you know a hazard is, they should put you on the road and see your reactions.
So, anyone want to actually make it clear when to click? Say for example, there's a fat ass doubledecker big red motherf**king bus infront of you that suddenly stops. Do you click when you see it stop, or when you have to stop to avoid crashing into the bastard? Or, knowing the DSA, they'll want you to click it when your lovely little 1.0 Corsa is wedged inside the ass of that motherf**king bus.
@GuitarManGihan - Hi there, how did you get on with your Theory Test then, i've got my Theory Test this friday, and im worried about the same thing as u, when to click and what not. Msg me back asap - any help given would be much appreciated. Thanks.
it's a joke, if you spot the hazard insanely early you get 0 points, because you've spotted it too early, my instructor taught me to space out clicks when I see a hazard, click once, wait a second, click twice, wait a second and click for a third, I shouldn't have to do that because this should be able to detect that I was actually smart enough to spot it early, SHAMBLES.
thank fuk i passed mine first time if i had to go bak i was going bak with a shotgun gd luck nebody about to sit this mince it is actually straight forward just a con.
Sorry but this is stupid theres about 7 hazards but there is only 1 real one this is just a money scam i can drive a car but have to do this for a motorbike why?????
ive got the dvd its bullshit u can barely see the hazard when ure supposed to click
goverment money goverment money this countrys a fukin joke
I hate these fucking things. blurry as shit videos in which you have to click if some cunt 20 miles away decides to go to his freezer for some peas or shit.
cagiva70's comments are not very intelligent. Very experienced drivers fail this test. I have driven for 24 years with no accidents and I got 43/70. Had no idea when I was supposed to click. The instructions are deliberately confusing. They tell you to click for all hazards but then only for 'develpoing hazards'. Its a bit of game. Perhaps stupid people find it easy!
@EeyoreTiggerPooh2 My instructer always said I was good at spotting hazards and anticipation, but I failed a couple of practice tests, just about passed another practice test and got 53 points on my real test. In conclusion, it's a BS test.

@foxytr900 Its a developing hazard you must click for, something that will make you slow down or change direction. You will see many 'potential' hazards but only some will cause you to slow or change direction. Click for anything that might make your go for the brake or move the steering, its quite OK to have 10 or more flags along the bottom of the screen
Duno wot u all is moanin about its easy. I have full licence for bike, car, bus and heavy goods so ive done 4 of em....... Needless to say ive never failed one. Its quite clear, if ya dont recognise hazards ya shouldnt be given a full licence!

And since when do people cross the road without even looking towards your car?
This video really explains the hazard perception test a lot more clearly the D.S.A videos, however i belive this is a money making scheme because why the hell would any one pass the idea of letting a computer tell us we are safe to drive!!!!! Muzthedodger has a point i was unaware on where/when to click but this vid helped a lot by explaining that all hazards potential/developing .ect should be click, but only the anticipation time is marked.

Just passed first time today. My advice to anybody worried about the hazard perception test like I was would be to keep practicing online. After a while you get a knack of knowing exactly when to click. Usually the hazard will appear to be pretty obvious, for example if you see a fire engine is going to come across your path click immediately then when it gets a bit closer press again just to be certain, it wont cancel out the previous click if it was perfect, just to be certain. Hope this helps

I mean, their perception of a 'developing' hazard is different to everyone else's.
They say click when you see a hazard and click every time is develops
It's developing 200 times a bloody second.
It doesn't explain it well enough and charge you £31 to sit in a room for an hour and then do a 20 minute test, rip off.
They must make a ruddy fortune off drivers, then fail people randomly to meet quotas
