@david222444 "At present the globe is cooling!" That statement is meaningless without the context of a time scale. Night is cooler than day, winter is cooler than summer, that doesn't mean a cooling trend in the climate.

George Monbiot´s book "Heat" explains the physics of CO2 and atmosphere and is for the intelligence of a 5 year-old.

He is truly embarrasing and it is a shame that so many people look up to him and beleive that he has an authority on this issue.

Research the science of GHG and atmosphere and you will see that he is a very basic person.

Or maybe he is highly knowing of the science, but if this is the case then he is just a blatant liar.

Monbiot has no scientific qualifications whatsoever yet spouts off anti-scientific "global warming" rubbish like a rabid barking dog. Russian scientists have recently proven that the world faces a new ice age by by 2065 due to decreasing sun spot activity yet Georgie blithely ignores climate data,propagating his ideological poison to the masses.

As much as I dislike Britain's public school and Oxbridge snobbery, Monbiot's creditation comes from both, and both have a respectable mien. He studied Zoology at Brasenose (acc. to Wikipedia). He's very much left-wing, and can be pretty crass at times, but there's little reason to doubt his arguments outside of personal bigotry.

Indeed a great talk. It's sad that he's not as influential as we need him to be. He gets a lot of stick from even Guardian folk by speaking too many inconvenient truths about the extent we need to change. Have not read Heat yet, but I've now decided to order it. Good on you George for your work.

Monbiot is one of the most important people in the UK at the moment, I just hope he has the required influence. Please read Heat, it will take about 6 hours of your life and offers the truth and comprehensive investigation into the possible solutions and a suggests a way out. Everybody has to work together but in order to achieve anything we need to spread the information.
