I admire and respect anyone who is multilingual...just understanding how the actual 'phrasing' of a sentence is so different from English to Japanese...or from Japanese to English...in order to speak it so well is a major accomplishment. I saw some articles years ago, said he grow up in Taiwan, but went to a Japanese primary school and an international secondary school there. That is why he can speak Japanese, English, Mandarin and Taiwanese Minnan. As he also acts in Hong Kong films so he needed to learn Cantonese. Since he didnt learn English when he was a small child, it is not his native language but I think he speaks quite well.
