  • NO RECOIL!?

  • @mathsprofessional He's a wizard ! The ball disappeared before he shot !

  • @ChurchillCigar hahahaha why dont any of those pussies ever load any musket balls seriously get some balls

  • WORNG LOADING PROCEDURE ACCORDING TO THE BRITISH MANNUALAT THE TIME

  • I prefer the shortland pattern brown bess. That is what I use for smoothbore woodswalk competitions.

  • where's? the ball?

  • this guy is annoying

  • @Weirdo7310 it the boring voice that get me lol

  • i wonder how many times some nub accidently double loaded a musket

  • Only british can fire this musket the best still check out 3 shots in 46 seconds this gun is not intended for yanks :D.

We built the first tank fuck you........

  • @AlienTechProductions thats great and you failed to use the tank properly. look to all you brits if you really want to talk shit and say how ba britain is go ahead at one point you were but your time is over you barely survived 2 world wars and have been mooching off America since now your just another island who squandered all your natural resources good luck....

  • @akagruntkiller the usa isnt exactly financially secure themselves... in case you havent noticed...

Indeed,Great Britain has had its time, but will always remain remarkable at what she achieved! Our colonies spread through out the world but mainly to all the countries in the British commonwealth and US.

No super power lasts for ever! I doubt there will ever be a country like ours again.. no empire will be able to do whats ours did ever again. No country is top dog now... thats a good thing

  • @MrPresidentToBe your points are all invalid I never said Britain wasn't a great empire just as I never said America is top dog. ba = Bad Ass. Britain's history is great though you shouldn't live in the past the old powers are slowly withering way mainly because they stopped conquering and now have no resources on their own land to use. Whereas America still has many natural resources yet to be tapped into. So my argument was mainly that Brits should stop living in the past.

  • @akagruntkiller America does indeed still have its resources, thats we are glad that we have Canada that spans across almost all of North America :P

They will surely do us a good deal!

  • @MrPresidentToBe I agree Canada has always worried me... I live close enough to the border we go camping on the border a lot and even now and then venture into Canada. Beautiful country. Quiet too quiet...

  • how can one man make firing a gun, a beautiful antique gun at that, feel like having your teeth pulled, get that man some caffiene or something.

  • the musket ball was only .71 inch so the diameter of the bore was .76 inch

  • Would it not be more time effective if the users kept their ram rods stuck in the ground in front of them whilst they were firing?

  • i want one of these things

  • If you heard him say that the ball was significantly undersized... the explosion is much like a cannon but with little recoil dude to a very loose fit in the bore. Furthermore he is wearing a basic frontier

18th c. hunting smock and cap

  • @Enemy0fTheState There wasn't any recoil in that shot because it was filmed separately from the actual shot with only powder in the pan and nothing down the barrel. I've fired brown besses and there is recoil.

  • No recoil?

  • Even though hes not , his uniform looks that of a Volga Cossack from that period

  • The British did not use patch boxes.

  • Not bullet box powder box. And they didnt call then bullets they called them balls

  • ummm.... cartrage box.....

  • Why was there no recoil??

  • he just used a little bit of powder and no ball. it was just a demo afterall

  • I havent yet seen a real reload and fire from one of these beasts yet.

  • its a hacker! =D

  • there was but obviously not as much as a normal weapon and judging from his knowelge aout the gun he is probs very good at controling the recoil.

  • Ummm....Samuel Colt?

    Did he actually invent anything?

I thought he was an entrepaneur?

Surely the fixed frame was a browning design?

Actually...I'm pretty sure Colt was just a salesman for other peoples designs....

    Good at business....but no inventor.

  • Holy crap .75cal. That would kill you if it hit you in the big toe lol.

  • @wackedoutdude actually with musket's shooting force it is not really efficient. it is harder for bullet to make holes in something with speed reduced by it's weight

  • @wackedoutdude kinda like a ten gauge with a pumpkin ball slug under some black powder.

  • cabela's sells these, but I have one from Loyalistarms. the one from loyalist is cheaper and they have several different modles.

  • Stupid question but, are they from the civil war era or just modern made?

  • They're modern made, if your tempted to by an origional its a wall hanger and nothing more. As for the civil war bit, the british had replaced the bess with the P53 Enfield rifled musket and brunswick muskets by then. this one would be from about 1720-1750

  • Oh, then they are from the American Revolutionary War?

Do they shoot like the originals?

  • yep, both continental soldiers and briitish would be using brown bess muskets, as well as a mix of others and some of the colonials would have rifles. As for how they shoot as far as i know its the same since the reproductions are made like the origionals.

  • pre civil war (French and Indian, revolution)

  • Thanks :)

  • i have a question, why did you replace the rod after pushing the ball? sorry for my english i'm french

  • the reason the ramrod is replaced because raw recruits forgot to replace it and fired it along with their bullet on the enemy or they threw it on the ground and in the smoke mist they were unable to find it and without the ramrod the musket is just a useless piece of lumber something like a club with the occasional ability to spit shells

  • Wow, no recoil at all, is it magic or did the guy just prime the pan and fire?. The wonders of editing, lol.

  • how much did this musket cost?

  • didnt once mention what to do with the muscket ball...although i believe it was in the mouth when you bit the top off the paper cartridge.

  • The musket ball is inside the paper cartridge, it's on the "bottom" end, secured with a short string and usually the paper is also waxed (as it works as a patch for the ball). The powder is on the "upper" end of the cartridge and the paper is folded tight, and back down towards the bottom so the paper cartridge won't open. When he bites the cartridge and tears is, he opens the powder end of it (the upper part) while the musket ball is in his hand with rest of the paper cartridge.

  • this geezer has got the most boring voice

  • you're right

  • show some respect for ur elders!

  • must not have been to fun priming the pan on a real windy day in battle

  • I myself shoot and reinact with a longland, I find it a sturdy and relyable arm.

    Thank you

  • @GRAILKNIGHTPARZIFAL lol whats your fastest? or average? 5 shots? 4 shots?

  • @XplosiveProductZ

Ummmmm.....Tell you the truth it really all depends, if im stationary or on the move.is my musket clean or have I been shooting all afternoon.

3 aimed rounds a minute "paper catridge" is a good thing to strive for.

Though with a clean musket, a fresh frizzen and a good sharp flint -I bet I could do better....that is until she gets all gummed up with fouling.

Love my Bess, shooting her is a real treat and reenacting with her is a pile of fun.

    GOD SAVE THE KING

  • @GRAILKNIGHTPARZIFAL why dont you hunt with it?
