@jalal786afghan thumbs up. i also was always thinking, how can i learn a long sura. but with allahs help, it is really easy. some people always ask me, how many suras do you read while praying, and they r surprised when i say it was just half of a sura lol. keep trying! you will do it. but also try to read it, because if you dont know the rules of tajweed, it may get messy in the pronunciation a bit. im speaking of my personal experience.

@jalal786afghan It will take as long as Allah has written for you. However winners don't quit and keep going. Listening to a scholar read as you memorise is absolute must if you are a non- arabic speaker to ensure accuracy of the phonemes and grammar, so might as well learnt it with perfection the first time. Arabic is a highly phonetic language hence listening is likley to enhance memory. Also what I recall my teachers used to encourage aural method with kids who struggled with Arabic!

Yes, Yacine also denotes the word Yasin, Often among North African Muslim communities "C" is a substiute for "S". So the name Aisha for instance would thus be spelt Aicha. Simply a spelling variation. :)
