I would use PVC cleaner first and then PVC cement rather than that All-Purpose crap. Frost heaves and normal expansion and contraction due to weather "may" crack open the seal on your pipes allowing moisture in. Also use good non-hardening pipe dope on the threads of that threaded coupling. If you don't have silica gel packs to absorb moisture, get some really dry newspaper and roll it in a ball and stuff that down the pipe first. It will absorb all the moisture and keep your cashe nice.
@TriggerJunkie I think it was about $26 something. I bought the supplies at a local family owned business. Check around 1:45 I mention it. Thanks for watching.
There was some concern about the threaded end leaking. If you will wrap the threads in Teflon tape that will not be a problem.
You know you could probably use a seal. Meal to wrap everything air tight in the tube. I wonder if you could make a fitting to make the whole tube a vacuum ?
I have a small one behind my truck seat. The bag you have is great. My short tube makes a great water carrier....
Basically...the mix of baking soda and vinegar releases CO2 which gradually replace the O2 in the container, once the container is filled with CO2 the remaining fills the second tubing and lights off the candle coz no more O2! immediately remove the second tubing and seal the drilled hole then do the same for the first tubing...now you get first class O2 free environment for your food and so on...keep prepper brother :)
Good Vid!...i`m doing more or less the same, however once the container has been filled with items or food, you completely seal both ends and on the top of one "end sealed cap" you drill two holes and insert in each a 2 feet long tubing, one connects to a bottle of water (the connection is sealed as well with tape)which has been filled with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda at the other tube end light a candle, when the light goes off it means ur container has no more O2 in it
this so dum in the bs your talking about there no time to go looking for some like this if you do make to where you keep it its just more shit to pack around and on foot you want to keep it light plus this is bs in its self nice job jessey v did your job well how many more will you kill for bushs lies im for one hope to show your the one pushing this why is he out of the US ? think
I had thought of using pvc like this, but that threaded end would most likely not be very water tight for burial. If you think about it, it wouldn't really be any more difficult to just leave yourself a little space and glue end caps on both ends and cut it off when needed. In that manner you could literally float the tube in a swamp, pond, or septic tank.
It took me all of about 30 minutes to teach my Bloodhound to find buried PCV & ABS plastic pipe. Downside...he also dug up all of my sprinkler lines. Found cash buried in PVC for seven years that was fine.
Plants grown from hybrid seeds are often sterile, meaning that they won't produce usable seeds. This ensures that you have to buy new ones every year from your seed company. Plants grown from heirloom seeds will produce viable seeds that you can harvest, store, and plant the next year. It's a good idea to start doing this now, so that 1. you develop the necessary skills and experience and 2. you know that you have good seeds that will work, year after year.
Another idea is to use a larger diameter pvc pipe 10-12" and 8 foot long bury it vertically leave 3' exposed and put a table top on it put your smaller pipe's inside it... now paint it and it's hid in plain site
well, i don't know why people keep picking on little details. they never learne to use the information they're recieving, they just wanna know about complaining. that's why they keep fighting over bear grylls vs les stroud thing instead of learning from both of them. I think your vid is great, and has given me many ideas to prepare my own cache. thak you.
@ryanjcus Yea I second that. I don't understand why crying and complaining has become the online fad. I can only assume that why there is so much complaining. Is because those who have no life and spend most of there time on the computer. They're miserable and it makes them feel better to take it out on everyone that actually have lives. Put simply they're jealous that you are experiencing life. Keep it up I enjoy your video's.
@kerozenimus I agree. ANY information should just be read and taken into consideration. If there is anything you can learn or use from it for your own good then GREAT. If not then just ignore it, since it is your right, and leave it alone.
Thank you so much. I'm a 21 year old city/street girl. I've been wanting to start preparing for about 3 years and last year I read alot that made me really want to start. But there was always something else I needed first.... anyway... .today's my very first day of really studying. I just hope I can find a tiny mini network of people to aid me with knowledge or to share their land with me. Thanks again for posting I'll be watching everything you have that will help me :)
I really don't think gold/silver will be a valuable commodity in a PAW simply because it has no value other than what we assign it. It isn't useful. I'd rather stockpile some matches, knives and ammo for trade rather than something useless like gold which is how much now? Over $1500? That's a lot of ammo, guns, knives, etc.
I just buried my first survival cache, but I am worried about condensation. Is that an issue if your cache is totally air tight and water proof? I have a video on my channel of exactly what I buried and what I buried it in. thanks!
What is buried in your cache? their is natural moisutre in some buried materials and if this is too great than indeed the humidity level inside the cache can rise; however, if you have placed oxygen absorbing silica packets and have used only dry, stable supplies in your cache this is not an issue. The main things you need to consider are: depth of bury (needs to be below frost line), supplies (O2 absorber and low moisture), Good seal on pipe. If these three criteria are met ur good.
PVC pipe is also available in 6,8,10 & 12 inch diameters to allow more storage area.
You can make a round disk out of 1/4" plywood to put at the bottom with 3 nylon strings attached to a washer at the top, then you can pull on the washer & it lifts the contents for faster & easier access to the contents.
Use a waterproofing gasket material under the lid or on the threads.
It is always advisable to have a good set of channel lock pliers to get the lids off quickly.
@ryanjcus Very cool, I may make of of these to bury storable dried food I buy/sell...considering the food I get last for 15+ years this would be perfect especially right before winter so the ground is cold...just don't bury to deep so you can still dig it up in frozen ground if need be. Thanks for posting
Two problems with your cache: First you did not prime the PVC before gluing it. Second, you should use some sort of pipe dope to keep the threads on the cap sealed in case pressure builds up with heavy ground water. It will allow you to reuse your cap but it will also keep it sealed better than without doping it.
@aaronpetersutherland Same here in the UK, we pay more tax than most but we also get free healthcare. You know why you should be scared of your government? Because you have no control over anything if they say so. If the government decide to take away your freedom one day, you are powerless, and that's why I support the idea of American citizens bearing arms. With the way things are going it's naive to believe that the day you gotta stand and fight for your rights will never come.
@Foster3108 im no conspiracy nut or anything, but i totally agree. 99% of gov't and politicians don't give a damn about the people they're supposed to be serving. Same goes for big corporations. money money money. on the other hand, i'd worry myself more with preparing to survive if things fall apart than with trying to stage a revolution... ppl are too fat dumb and unhappy to be bothered with that sort of thing anyway.
I'm not so sure that we need to prepare for this "Government Takeover" that several YouTubers speak of. Prepare for a natural disaster of some sort. I think that people who spend their time prepping to fight the Government with guns blazing have their head in the clouds. Just my 2 cents
Another option would be to ditch the inspection cap & use a plumbers 4" test plug instead, the kind with a wing nut tightener but then you need to be weary of rust.
Sometimes those PVC screw caps sometimes tend to be hard to remove once it's been sitting there for some time. Chances are you may not be carrying tools with you when you go to dig this thing up fromwhere ever you may have it buried. To prevent this you should use Anti Seize on the threads of the threaded cap, this way it will always be hand tight & will still maintain its' water proof properties.
Not to be insensitive. I'm just a neighbour to the North (Canajun eh?), but I gotta say something and I hope you take the time to digest it.
I don't fear my government despite the fact that we consistently pay way more taxes than you in the USA. My government fears me, and I don't even have the right to bear arms in a militia(of course I'm not in a militia and most Americans aren't either). If I get shot, I don't pay the bill.
Socialism isn't communism. It's capitalism with sight for the meek.
If you want to know it's waterproof drill a hole in the cap end and install a small pressure gauge and 1/4" Air fitting. Use a vacuum pump to remove the air and moisture, then repressurise the tube with nitrogen to about 5psi. Then if you dig it up to check it, you know if the N2 pressure is the same your tube is perfectly sealed.
Might want to put some desiccant packs in there to to absorb moisture that was in there when you sealed it up.
Actually, also... IMHO you might be better off just capping both ends and sawing the cap off with your multitool when you dig it up. That way waterproof for sure.
@pajiad191 You are 100% right about that...a lot of people depend on them but the old style protractor, compass, and map is hard to beat...everyone should brush up on those skills! A GPS is okay as long as the SAT's are working but I promise eveyone those will be turned off with in a few days if not before!
@pajiad191 There are no "military frequencies" on GPS. But, they can turn crypto on the signal called selective availability. Most military units don't have the ability to load cryto anymore so turning on cryto will turn off the use to a lot of military applications. They turned the crypto off for 2 reasons. 1. They couldnt get the crypo/crypto capable units to troops in the field quickly. and 2. Development of DGPS. Even with SA on it doeskin stop your gps it just degrades the accuracy.
i would keep in mind that metal items such as tinned food, bullets, or precious metals may give away cache locations to a metal detector, something that may potentially help or harm you.
Dont you think the government is curious about all of your videos on here and the fact that you publicize all of what you are doing to prepare for their seizure of weapons and stuff, makes you a target on their shit list
Just what type of magical powers do you freaks believe Jews have? They make up 0.3% of the population, and apparently they control the entire planet. They must truely be members of a superior race. ..... Oh I remember now.. God's chosen people. What a bunch of bitchy little girls. Sorry to hijack this video, but PLEASE!
This is a great idea. I've never thought of using a PVC pipe. I usually store my items in cheapo plastic "ammo cans" then silicone around the lid. For cheaper I can probably make these PVC caches that are almost completely water proof. FYI its pronounced /ˈkæʃ/ the same as cash like money; rhymes with bash.
just curious why hid it outside and not just inside your home...such as the attic or possibly even in the wall. I like the idea but I just dont want someone to steal anything.
@darrenmars Absolutely. The US is on the very brink of economic and societal collapse. If we have teachers in Wisconsin rioting int the streets over having their free stuff taken away, what do you expect the millions of welfare leeches to do? People like Ryan will survive, but people like you, will not.
@devno9904 People like Ryan will injure themselves when they dig up there "cache" of "supplies". People like me will tend to their injuries. People like Ryan will slow down people like me. If ever we actually need to rely on anything to survive after a global breakdown in civilisation, It's skills and the ability to adapt, not about how much ammo, tinned fish and batteries you can hide underground. What's this poor guy gonna do when he runs out of ammunition? Sardines? Batteries?
@darrenmars Point taken Darren, but its people like Ryan that will maybe, just maybe, wake up a few people to be prepared for what is about to take place. We all have our own methods and plans true enough, and maybe you disagree with the method, but the goal is still the same my freind.
@devno9904 I think the basic idea is great, even if it isn't new. I also believe there are better things to store in a cache and that this video isn't particularly good - seemingly encouraging poor choices of items to include. I get your point tho, hopefully it motivates people to prepare themselves.
BTW I haven't heard of rioting teachers....? What was that about?
@darrenmars I dont know if you have kept up with the news out of WI with the teachers unions being busted, they are in the streets and stormed the capital. Alot more states will follow suit as entitilements have become unsustainable.
I can't stand your vids anymore simply b/c of your telling ppl what they can and can't comment on. It's called hypocrisy, look it up. While your at it look up cause and affect of low self esteem. You just might learn something about yourself. BTW most of the junk in your kits and vids is pure junk. There is literally more knowledge in the comment sections of your videos than IN your videos.
Look like this whole kit could fit in something the size of a backpack....A BACKPACK. what a novel idea. you could like keep in your trailer instead of burying it in the neighbors yard.
@wynstonsmyth So you're saying that after the government agents/looters catch you off guard, storm through your house, hold you at gunpoint, take all your supplies, ammo, weapons, etc, for there own, and then leave you most likely injured and beaten (If you are still alive) that they would forget to scavenge and/or steal your pack/truck/trailer/generator/medkit/snares/gasoline/ whatever, you name it?? Oh... so.... Yeaaa...
@bobomanthecruzan If the secret police raid your house, no cache in the woods is gonna help you. They won't "leave you injured or beaten", you are either taken away, or you are shot. That's the scenario, right?
Sure, I like the idea of having some basics (fire, food, cash, gun etc) cached away in and around your territory, but possession is 9/10ths of the law and having your gear handy is paramount when the shit hits the fan. Haven't you ever read "Soldier of Fortune" magazine?
that's an awesome idea, but i can tell your not a plumber :) you should use the purple surface prepping stuff on before the glue, also toss in some moisture and oxygen absorbers in there too, and then wrap your screw in plug with Teflon tape or it will seize after a while and might leek.
Why do you think the criminal politicians took our industry to communist china? So when the communist within the government like the jews and Obama, and liberals start getting their azzes busted during martial law, they will cry out to China with these words. If you do not come and help us throw these people off us, China will lose all those trillions you loaned us, please help us put these people down. Guess what? China will come because China will think they can prevent them getting beat.
Either way, Obama will want to hold on to power at all cost. The jews are behind all this evil cursing us. Jews control Obama the half black, half jew, non white, and Obama and the jews are communist. War is near because Obama will not want to give up power, so he will try martial law, but it will not work, so he will call on China and Russia to save his behind. Why do you think Obama has been chumming up to China and Russia so much? Just get ready to fight, and have plenty of ammo.
I believe Obama will either get defeated by a Republican, and not get re-elected, or he will try and declare martial law so he can remain in power. There has never been a black yet that had big power that gave it up willingly. They have a dictator mentality, an dwill have to be removed by force. I think once the patriots rise up to remove Obama he will cry to China and Russia to help him, and I think they will come to his rescue. So this means a very bloody war on american soil. Maybe Ezekial.
Be sure to put cotton in those tubes, or around your ammo so that it can absorb any moisture. Moisture will ruin and rust items that are metal, and render ammo worthless. Cotton balls will save you from moisture damage.
@actonbath You are a real wise guy, huh? That is what is wrong with you people now, sitting up under the jew tube, and letting the jews within your government work evil against you. You think it's a joke, but I assure you that evil is going to come down hard on you, and your type will not make it long. You will either starve, the Jew run government will lock you down until they exterminate you, or a patriot will blow you away for trying to loot their stash. You jokers never cease to amaze me.
My other Main Concern is where You Bury Your Cache. It should be in a place You can easily see. There are people with Metal Detectors who are always looking for something. So to be able to see Your Burial Site and know that it hasn't been disturbed is just good prevention. Put any Metals toward the Bottom of the Tube if You can. The Deeper they are the less chance it will register on most Metal Detectors. Of course they do make some Expensive one's that can read 30 feet plus down now! So beware!
You Really should have used PVC Cleaner Before You applied the PVC Cement. It's usually a color like Purple or Red so You can see where it's been used on the Pipe to clean it. I also like to run a knife around the inside edge of the pipe to ream out any burrs that can cut You later. It only takes a few seconds & is worth the effort. Second is Your choice of Batteries. Lithium is the way to go. They Never Leak. Their good for 10 Years +. Their lighter. The only Downside is they do Cost More!
@Dimeyesshortlashes you have to understand.....The United States Constitution....is basically a document telling our people to not trust the government and keep an eye on checks and balances.....(based on the atrocious treatment of the colonists by GB.) Being prepared for disaster Is as American as mom, apple pie and coca cola
@inkey2 i see what your saying but i just think its sad that it comes to that, that the people are told not to trust anyone and to make sure you have these caches hidden around, it shouldnt have to come to that
@dean10007 If there were a real disaster scenereo, the government (be it national or local) would confiscate all fire arms......don't believe me? .......Huricane Katrina......guns were confiscated. All these people saying "they won't take my guns from me"....guess what.....they did take their guns from them
seal it up good!! some felt in the ends will also help fight off oxidization. that one there looks big enough to stash a weeks worth of nalleys chili. :) good source of protein man!
No way if i have bacon and dont want eggs a newly formed society silver and gold wont mean anything to me and im sure other people will agree that the only way gold and silver will be of use would be when im building something and need the material to use otherwise you can show people all the gold and silver in the world and they will just laugh while you think your set because you still believe that will be worth something when others will ask "why will i need that for?"
@p0etan gold and silver will be valuable when society gets back to normal......hard to say if slips of green paper with the words "Federal reserve" printed on them will. So what I am saying is hoarding gold and silver should be "part" of the plan the rest of the plan would be hoarding other essentials
@inkey2 I never mentioned anything about "green paper" you obviously have no argument in regards to survival and you even proved it by saying gold will be valuble when "society gets back to normal..." which means survival wouldn't be an issue and that's what this conversation was about not after SHTF is over.
yeah if the society collapses gold and silver wont be currency it will be food and medical supplies how can you not realize that?!? no one will need a whole bunch of gold and silver lying around it wont be like a stereo typical cowboy movie....... not unless their is some form of trade back in the world and manufacturing continues where gold and silver are needed in the machine parts.
@p0etan Initially, food will matter most. Once things settle down a bit and trading resumes, a neutral medium of exchange will be necessary. Silver and gold work well here. Otherwise, you'll run into the same problems that started currency way back 6000+ years ago. Namely, if I have eggs and want bacon, and you have bacon but don't want eggs, we can't trade. This is where silver and gold come in.
This Is More For if You Want To Expand Your Supplie Line To Your Land or have emergency Refill Points From Your Point A To Point C While These Things Can Be Point B. You All Get What i'm sayin
if they declare martial law they are going to have to options... back the fuck up or get shot... let alone I know most soldiers wont follow those orders in country... considering its an unlawful order...
You should really use primer before you glue and use a quality glue made for PVC not all purpose. Christys brand is know to be pretty potent. You also should not mix ABS and PVC when trying to make waterproof connections.
Dude you should be priming that with the liquid purple priming liquid to start to break down the PVC material first before you hit the pipe with cement. That may not actually be water tight with out priming it with the purple primer!!
You don't have to bury this pipe, but instead add it to your existing plumbing inside your home's basement, attic, crawlspace or out-burnings and just make it look like it was installed like that on purpose by the original plumbers. If done correctly, you won't have to worry about water seepage and can check the contents on a regular basis.
Also you don't need pipe for you Cache, Coolers work & can be buried outside, under a fake Out or Dog house, Coops, Pens, etc. Vacuum pack contents though.
@Sonny9257 I like your idea.....making the pipe look like part of the house....in the basement or attic. It's like the old saying.....if you want to hide something....hide it in plain sight
Caches are what they are. Money in the Bank that you hope to never need.
But burying them, while always an alternative, will usually mean that you will need a shovel to uncover them during a crisis, which is why I suggest that you find a place to hide your "Cache" in plain sight. Such as Hollow Fence Posts, old water wells or as part of your landscaping, something you can see everyday but hidden from dog noses. If you bury it in the woods, plant a rose bush over it or nearby, so you can find it
might it be a good idea to paint your cache with some brown spray paint so if it were to become exposed through weather or animals, it won't be as easy for other people to spot?
I think if I were going to do this I would seal both ends permanently(no threaded cap) that way there's no chance of water infiltration. Then use the saw on my letherman or bust it open with a rock, hammer,ax. The whole idea of this is to leave it in the ground until needed, I don't think I could trust a threaded cap to prevent moisture infiltration for the long term.
@Cermait man....you don't know who "THEY" is?........in the USA every other person but yourself is "THEY". I never did like "they".....I have always hated "they"......... I wish "they" would just get the hell out of my life. Now, does that clear it up for you?
Also, after the cement has cured, seal the screw cap up, and submerge in a bathtub to make sure it's waterproof. If you submerge it and NO bubble come up, you're good. If bubbles come up, you didn't apply the cement properly. Don't make your caches too expensive. Instead, make many many $40-$80 ones. It's bettter than making a few $300 caches that you'll sweat over. Take a picture of where it's buried so you'll be able to remember where it is. Paint a mark on a tree nearby in the picture.
Thanks man. I would put 'Seeds' in there as well. And ways to start fires. I have several Bugout kits. And there is everything I need from Snare wire to water filters. Nice start , & I appreciate the time & effort you put into this. We're all learning. Never stop seeking knowledge. As we scouts know & say; "Be prepared'. The best thing to pack is 'Your knowledge'. It's the only thing I need to survive. I've acquired enough knowledge that I can survive with only my clothes & 2 rocks!

A note: When cementing the end on - while still fresh - give the caps about 1/4 turn to make sure the cement forms a uniform seal...
theguyfromplt 4 months ago
I had thought of using pvc like this, but that threaded end would most likely not be very water tight for burial. If you think about it, it wouldn't really be any more difficult to just leave yourself a little space and glue end caps on both ends and cut it off when needed. In that manner you could literally float the tube in a swamp, pond, or septic tank.

I have a video on my channel of exactly what I buried and what I buried it in. thanks!
4770589 8 months ago
@4770589
If these three criteria are met ur good.
pajiad191 8 months ago 2

Another option would be to ditch the inspection cap & use a plumbers 4" test plug instead, the kind with a wing nut tightener but then you need to be weary of rust.
MrNightro 9 months ago
Sometimes those PVC screw caps sometimes tend to be hard to remove once it's been sitting there for some time. Chances are you may not be carrying tools with you when you go to dig this thing up fromwhere ever you may have it buried. To prevent this you should use Anti Seize on the threads of the threaded cap, this way it will always be hand tight & will still maintain its' water proof properties.
MrNightro 9 months ago
Not to be insensitive. I'm just a neighbour to the North (Canajun eh?), but I gotta say something and I hope you take the time to digest it.
I don't fear my government despite the fact that we consistently pay way more taxes than you in the USA. My government fears me, and I don't even have the right to bear arms in a militia(of course I'm not in a militia and most Americans aren't either). If I get shot, I don't pay the bill.

If you want to know it's waterproof drill a hole in the cap end and install a small pressure gauge and 1/4" Air fitting. Use a vacuum pump to remove the air and moisture, then repressurise the tube with nitrogen to about 5psi. Then if you dig it up to check it, you know if the N2 pressure is the same your tube is perfectly sealed.
wb5mgr 10 months ago
Might want to put some desiccant packs in there to to absorb moisture that was in there when you sealed it up.
Actually, also... IMHO you might be better off just capping both ends and sawing the cap off with your multitool when you dig it up. That way waterproof for sure.

lawson863 10 months ago
@pajiad191 There are no "military frequencies" on GPS. But, they can turn crypto on the signal called selective availability. Most military units don't have the ability to load cryto anymore so turning on cryto will turn off the use to a lot of military applications. They turned the crypto off for 2 reasons. 1. They couldnt get the crypo/crypto capable units to troops in the field quickly. and 2. Development of DGPS. Even with SA on it doeskin stop your gps it just degrades the accuracy.

do you really think the US and it's government is so unstable and vulnerable that you need to start hiding food and ammo in the ground? that's scary.
darrenmars 11 months ago
@darrenmars Absolutely. The US is on the very brink of economic and societal collapse. If we have teachers in Wisconsin rioting int the streets over having their free stuff taken away, what do you expect the millions of welfare leeches to do? People like Ryan will survive, but people like you, will not.
devno9904 11 months ago
@devno9904 People like Ryan will injure themselves when they dig up there "cache" of "supplies". People like me will tend to their injuries. People like Ryan will slow down people like me. If ever we actually need to rely on anything to survive after a global breakdown in civilisation, It's skills and the ability to adapt, not about how much ammo, tinned fish and batteries you can hide underground. What's this poor guy gonna do when he runs out of ammunition? Sardines? Batteries?
darrenmars 11 months ago
@darrenmars Point taken Darren, but its people like Ryan that will maybe, just maybe, wake up a few people to be prepared for what is about to take place. We all have our own methods and plans true enough, and maybe you disagree with the method, but the goal is still the same my freind.
devno9904 11 months ago
@devno9904 I think the basic idea is great, even if it isn't new. I also believe there are better things to store in a cache and that this video isn't particularly good - seemingly encouraging poor choices of items to include. I get your point tho, hopefully it motivates people to prepare themselves.
BTW I haven't heard of rioting teachers....? What was that about?

bobomanthecruzan 10 months ago
@bobomanthecruzan If the secret police raid your house, no cache in the woods is gonna help you. They won't "leave you injured or beaten", you are either taken away, or you are shot. That's the scenario, right?

Why do you think the criminal politicians took our industry to communist china? So when the communist within the government like the jews and Obama, and liberals start getting their azzes busted during martial law, they will cry out to China with these words. If you do not come and help us throw these people off us, China will lose all those trillions you loaned us, please help us put these people down. Guess what? China will come because China will think they can prevent them getting beat.
NWO20122012 1 year ago
Either way, Obama will want to hold on to power at all cost. The jews are behind all this evil cursing us. Jews control Obama the half black, half jew, non white, and Obama and the jews are communist. War is near because Obama will not want to give up power, so he will try martial law, but it will not work, so he will call on China and Russia to save his behind. Why do you think Obama has been chumming up to China and Russia so much? Just get ready to fight, and have plenty of ammo.
NWO20122012 1 year ago
I believe Obama will either get defeated by a Republican, and not get re-elected, or he will try and declare martial law so he can remain in power. There has never been a black yet that had big power that gave it up willingly. They have a dictator mentality, an dwill have to be removed by force. I think once the patriots rise up to remove Obama he will cry to China and Russia to help him, and I think they will come to his rescue. So this means a very bloody war on american soil. Maybe Ezekial.
NWO20122012 1 year ago
Be sure to put cotton in those tubes, or around your ammo so that it can absorb any moisture. Moisture will ruin and rust items that are metal, and render ammo worthless. Cotton balls will save you from moisture damage.

So beware!

yeah if the society collapses gold and silver wont be currency it will be food and medical supplies how can you not realize that?!? no one will need a whole bunch of gold and silver lying around it wont be like a stereo typical cowboy movie....... not unless their is some form of trade back in the world and manufacturing continues where gold and silver are needed in the machine parts.
p0etan 1 year ago
@p0etan Initially, food will matter most. Once things settle down a bit and trading resumes, a neutral medium of exchange will be necessary. Silver and gold work well here. Otherwise, you'll run into the same problems that started currency way back 6000+ years ago. Namely, if I have eggs and want bacon, and you have bacon but don't want eggs, we can't trade. This is where silver and gold come in.

Sonny9257 1 year ago
@Sonny9257 I like your idea.....making the pipe look like part of the house....in the basement or attic. It's like the old saying.....if you want to hide something....hide it in plain sight
inkey2 1 year ago
Caches are what they are. Money in the Bank that you hope to never need.
But burying them, while always an alternative, will usually mean that you will need a shovel to uncover them during a crisis, which is why I suggest that you find a place to hide your "Cache" in plain sight. Such as Hollow Fence Posts, old water wells or as part of your landscaping, something you can see everyday but hidden from dog noses. If you bury it in the woods, plant a rose bush over it or nearby, so you can find it
Sonny9257 1 year ago
might it be a good idea to paint your cache with some brown spray paint so if it were to become exposed through weather or animals, it won't be as easy for other people to spot?
peakoilpamela 1 year ago
I think if I were going to do this I would seal both ends permanently(no threaded cap) that way there's no chance of water infiltration. Then use the saw on my letherman or bust it open with a rock, hammer,ax. The whole idea of this is to leave it in the ground until needed, I don't think I could trust a threaded cap to prevent moisture infiltration for the long term.
