  • what does colour neutral mean? he makes it sound like homosexuality

  • @kingofallguitarheros It means youre a dumb shit.

  • @gibsonguy625 so that means im not a dumb shit.

  • @kingofallguitarheros so that means im not a dumb shit. Have fun with your silly toy. lolololol

  • @gibsonguy625 u ra dumb mofo

  • @kingofallguitarheros *You are dumb, motherfucker.

That's some pretty bad grammar for someone who's so smart.

  • @gibsonguy625 u fucking plick!

  • @gibsonguy625 come at me bro

  • @gibsonguy625 lol i can average sub 15:;:

  • @kingofallguitarheros lol I work at NASA as an Aerospace Engineer. Ive been doing it for 6 years.

  • im partial color neutral and sub 20

  • update im color neutral and sub 30

  • Feliks Zemdegs, Nipat Charoenpholphant and Rowe Hessler is colour neutral...

Im colour neutral and its awesome 2 be 1... Like Thrawst said, imagine u had a red cross already done but u only solve the white ones... that is wasting precious seconds in ur time... I respect ur non-colour neutrality but seriously any1 who is colour neutral why the fuck would you dun want to be... Practice finding good sides and bad sides and guess what? Without memorising 50 OLL's and G-perms i hav a sub-40 average..

  • @Exalmer

lol i have sub 30 avg without neutral...

colour neutlarity is good only if you average less than 10 sec.

  • what does it mean to be color neutral?

  • I'm color neutral and I sub 50

  • I have a few friends that cube... although my average is about 10-20 seconds lower than theirs'... and I think one of them is color neutral and uses the beginners'. The other I have no idea if he's color neutral but he kinda goes in between beginners' method and two-look.

  • Lol I remember blue mustard blood from your 4x4 tutorials a few years ago

  • And if you're color neutral, AHH AHHH?

  • its weird....im color neutrality on petrus but on fridrich i have to solve the cross on the green side

  • wtf is blue mustard blood?

  • i can't solve it in sub 30 if i dont do cross on white.... if there isn't white i have to do cross on yellow

  • All my friends suck at rubiks cubes...

  • i tried to do this.....and my best cube broke, the part that connects the centre piece to the core split :(

  • I'm colour partial on the white and yellow sides, thumbs up if your'e aswell!

  • @Zbox95 i am =)

  • I'm partial.I use white yellow bcuz sometime the white is a hard cross

  • I'm not much of a speed cuber, but even being color neutral my times are typically under 50-70 seconds. I actually found my times decreased when I tried not being color neutral.

  • 19 seconds not a bad time? my record is 1:12....

  • While watching this I was just messing around and I was always getting Z-perm T_T

  • white

  • dang 19 seconds i do it in about 2 minutes

  • I'm trying to get color neutral, but I don't have a 1x1 so I just am making myself be able to avg sub30 color neutral. I avg like 25 with white crosses. And I don't like doing yellow crosses, so I'm gonna end up being pentacolor neutral.

  • Lol this game is very good.

  • My problem with being color neutral is the f2l takes some time to get used to.

  • I sometimes play that game with my sister but im 30 seconds on average and she is on average 2 minutes :P i mostly use only the white and the yellow side to solve

  • i always do green first, can anyone guess why? :D

  • @WhenOrangesAttack pogobat?

  • @WhenOrangesAttack Dan Brown :)

  • im color neutral, though i like making the cross on the white side sometimes :D but i agree, idk why people wouldnt be color neutral, because it would be easier if you were (i.e. you love solving on the blue side, which has none of the cross solved, when the orange side will only take like 2 turns to complete the cross)

  • lol, u funny

  • what cube do you use thrawst? can you make a video on what cubes you use?

  • When i started cubing I used the petrus method and i was color nuetral but when i switched to the fridrich method i started solving from the white side first.

  • Thanks dude, I'm color neutral now.

    and what stickers are those?

  • I'm partially color neutral. I solve the cross on the yellow and white sides.

  • I'm what u call partial color neutral on the blue/green.

  • I'm colour neutral on all cubes except the megaminx.

Although I have to solve white on the megaminx, I cam colour neutral on the gigaminx...

  • I'm gonna practice to be color neutral :D

    thanks for the tip

  • i'm only colour neutral on the 2x2 =D

  • Comment removed

  • woah -2 o.o

  • You make it sound like color neutrality is some terrible disease or addiction. :P

  • Lol, i'm color neutral on everything but 3x3 and megaminx.

  • where do you get the 1x1 cube?

  • make it. from 3x3 corner

  • I'm partial color neutral. I usually solve the cross on the white and yellow sides first.

  • im color neutral, but i feel that if i go one or 2 color cross ill be better at f2l

  • Hmm I'm like a PDE, I'm only PARTIALly color neutral :D I solve either blue or what's opposite that (white) :)

  • does it bother you that your white center sticker is miss a lined, it bothers me

  • colour neutral is unnecessary :)

Yu Nakajima and other fast cubers only use 1or 2sides

  • i do white or yellow all the time it works really well

  • am i the only person who solves it on the green side first???????

  • No, I solve for green, and I was shunned when I went to a competition. They thought it wasn't possible to get under a minute solving for green.

  • what was ur time?

  • I averaged 34.8, and had a best time of 26.7. Not good, but not bad either.

  • i do a layer by layer solbe on green and can almost get sub minute, but im not very good

    green ftw

  • @bassboy219

my friend, ubercuba, solves on green cross

  • lol, ive switched to white

  • It just came to me. I just got bored of solving the white first.

  • Sub 20/30/40 means your time is below 20/30/40 seconds respectively.

  • can i know what is the type of your cube :)

  • I have the problem of always solving on White Side... The reason is because that's the side I have down when training algorithms...

I try to practise solving on any other side, but I end up doing wrong F2Ls...

Oh by the way... I'm colour blind. Not that I can't see any colours, but that I might have a little problem see the difference of a few colours.

  • i'm only color neutral on the pyraminx and my k-ball. but on a regular 2x2 i still have to solve the white first

  • I would play that...If my friends could solve it as fast as me >_>

  • Im partially color neutral.

  • lol at 1:30 when you were like "im color neutral and i like being color neutral"

for somereason i found that funny. "i myself an misexual, and i like being bi sexual."

  • Color nuetrality also helps in solving cubes with different color schemes.

  • Thrawst, you should develop a Rubik's Cube board game like the colour neutrality one.

    That would be cool.

  • Good job finding a practical use for the 1x1.

  • Umm. What would the other at 1:17 be?

  • if they had special colored stickers maybe, I didn't notice :P

  • White side FTW!! lol

  • another good way to practice color neutrality is with a siamese cube, because you need to solve 2 different colored partial crosses

  • Comment removed

  • you're awsome!!!!!!!!!thanks for all of the tips so far!!!!! 789236487465823.../5

  • does it really matter?

  • Hahaha, I remember "blue mustard blood", good times...XD

  • what cube

  • i hold the world record for solving the 1x1x1 cube.

  • i changed almost all of my puzzles color schemes so green and blue are opposite because i always solve blue first

  • Yo Thrawstey ? :) Where do you get the cube from?

  • I switched to Japanese color scheme and it forced me to get used to color neutrality, though I still solve white first.

  • but I dont have friends:( .... who can also solve a rubik's cube lol

  • neither do I, it would be something to pass time at competitions.

  • NO Thwrast, you have friends. Of all of us cubers we are one n(or are we a cube?). I am your friend even though i forgot your name after watching this Video. And i Subscibed to you cause your Videos are Bomb.

  • @tinyfury69 i too. lets be friends. Then we have one :)

  • I used to not be color neutral... But then I morphed into partially neutral, then color neutral! And now I avg about 20 secs! Sometimes I get sub-20 :).

  • i'm color neutral and i am usually 15 sec avg and gotten 3 sub-14 avg of 5

  • I'm partial neutral, I'm white/black cross, although I don't practice black cross very often...

  • You use black instead of yellow as well?

  • Yeah, story goes, all my yellow stickers came off on one of my cubes, and I got better at recognizing black instead of yellow for OLL. Of course, now I guess I'm about with same with yellow OR black, just depends on the type of cube XD

  • I use black by Choice. Because 1 with my neon stickers i bought the yellow looks similar to the white. And 2 it looks cool when you make the checkers pattern.

  • Yeah, I took that into consideration when I was stickering. I do have a cube with yellow tiles, but I use that for BLD mostly... even though I suck at BLD.

  • LOLZ! I like the part when you said "even though i suck at BLD."

  • you just inspired me to be color netural

  • i personally dont understand how people cant be color neutral ever since i first learned how to solve i was color neutral

  • same, but i guess it happens.

  • Aye it does :) I just burst with cube knowledge :)

  • @andyhthedrummer it happend to me when I switched from the beginers method to fredrich.when learning I would always do it on the white side just for the sake of consistancy, and now I'm having a tough time going back to color neutral... :(

  • usually when solving a cube there is already a pair already made to use in the cross. if you are color neutral there is a 6:6 chance that you can use that pair, whereas if you are not color neutral there is a 1:6 chance of being able to use this.

In the cases where there are no pairs ready to be used you can find whichever side will make the easiest cross. All it takes is a simple system of looking for edges in this case and you can easily find the best cross case within a 15 second inspection

  • nice tip

  • I am color neutral, I've always been :)

  • I always solve the white side first, but I have my yellow side replaced with black tiles (whole cube is tiled btw). I have the black tiles for 2 reasons. One, they look better than yellow (I think yellow looks ugly on a cube) and two, it helps in noticing different paters alot quicker in the final layer. What do you all think about this?

  • thats a good idea, i think im going to try that out

  • Erik Akkersdijk isn't color neutral...

  • he sorta is he can use white and yellow for cross

  • whet cube are you useing ??

  • I remember that =D Blue Mustard Blood ^^

  • i'm color neutral.

  • lol i am colour neutral :P

    funny xD

  • LOOOOL I'm gonna play this 1x1x1 game with my pals. YEYY I will make more friends!

  • I'm pretty much colour neutral so that must be great!

  • Who said color neutral on megaminx? Creepy... Seriously, that can't be good...

  • Colour neutral ftw

  • I also have to solve the blue and green ceneters of odd cubes but on even ones im neutral

  • fazrulz1 is colour neutral and he has a 11 sec avg.

  • I love Blue Mustard Blood.

  • that was the most helpful tip for the 4x4

  • It really was.

  • Woohoo! Partial White/Yellow! lol

  • Haha, blue mustard blood....i still do it that way.. xD

  • i am partial, green and blue

  • nice vid

  • on 3x3 i mainly try to get either a white or yellow cross, but if i see another side e.g. red with a really good cross, i will solve it, but for other puzzles like the pyraminx, i am color neutral and the megaminx i am not. so it depends on the puzzle too. and mainly on 6 sided puzzles i am partially color neutral:)

  • on a 3x3 im color neutral, on a 2x2 i am not color neutral cuz for some odd reason i always have to solve the blue side first, and on a pyraminx im color neutral as well

  • I'm partial color neutral i can only solve starting with yellow and white

  • I used to be color neutral when I did the really simple method.. But now I can't do it with Friedrich method :(

  • I'm color neutral! I love it, nice video! I 5 stared and favorated!

  • i remember blue mustard blood

  • Thats cool that your name is Tristan

  • im color newtral, and its kinda nice, but it used to be a little annoying, becuse if one side didnt stand out, id just kinda stall out, but now i solve in blocks so ive eleminated the problem

  • Dudes, life rocks with KFC

  • Lol! Your blue mustard blood thing was funny and that you can only solve the blue side first. Me too! But I say blue mustard ketchup :p lol :)

  • Well, I just realized I'm color neutral, and I'm pretty much white fixed too. I always use the white side, but I tried the red side after this video and I solved it as easily as the white side, very interesting! Maybe it's because I have Asperger's syndrome, and people with Asperger's tend to think more logically than the average person...or it could be that Asperger people are more "out of the box" than the average person too...I don't know which, but both are true. :/

  • Mostly, people with Asperger's Syndrome do think strangely or abstractly, so it would make sense if you could easily switch from color to color.

    Lucky! ;)

Nice tutorial, Thrawst! I'm pretty partially color neutral. Red and Orange just appeal to me...

  • dude same i only solve red or orange

  • It depends on your IQ and the severity of Aspergers. Me: IQ=182 AS=moderate high functioning

  • i realy wish i could play the color neutrality game, but i dont know any other cubers personally... :/

  • i have a prob though. i don't have any friends to play this game.....cuz they can't even solve a 3x3x3. I haven't met anyone physically that speedcubes.

  • These videos were more interesting with the different background.

    I'm color-neutral!

  • dude thats 19 seconds...lol...i really suck!!!hahaha!!!i can't do anything bu laugh

  • It is very hard to get out of that color neutral habit. But color neutrality is fun.

  • Not only do I remember blue mustard blood, it's what I use to this day for solving the 4x4. Thanks for this video!

  • Color Neutral? I thought that was a disability...

  • haha sounds like one

  • green screen :D

  • your first time which you called "not a bad time" was half a second faster than my PB

  • excellent. im not color neutral and i don't want to be color neutral. it really is true that you can solve the cross in 8 moves or less and i can do that. yu nakajima doesnt do it either =D

  • i use a mixed form with petruse i do the2x2 fereely but i use a patern for 2x2x3

  • I use blue mustard blood too!! i don't remember where i learned it from it was a long time ago

  • LOL i didnt even realize i was color neutral!

  • Erik Akkersdjk is colour neutral

  • no, hes not.

  • no, hes not

  • I'm color neutral, but I find I'm better with some colors than others. In order, yellow's my best, followed by white, orange/green, than blue/red. I don't know why I'm better with orange and green than I am with blue and red, but white and yellow seem to be very easy for me...

  • lol i remember blue mustard blood :D

  • i use that too

  • lol i don't xD

  • how do you get a 1x1?

  • u have to make 1

me myself and pi has a tutorial

  • make it there are a quadzillion tutorials on how to

  • i like pis the best it shows how to make it out of legos without just cutting off a corner

  • make it.

  • im color neutral only for the big cubes D=

  • Great Post! 5/5! Thanx! Didn't have to be so short though..lol

  • im colour neutral!

  • I am color neutral for non cubed shaped puzzles. For what its worth I remember your BLUE MUSTARD BLOOD thing. I always use it and the color neutrality game looks like fun (I need to make me a 1x1) ohh and is that a new timer?

  • Good vid...but I think you missed a hole half of the argument....Being color neutral means that you recignition time of the color peices will prob be doubled. But I guess over time You will get use to it but when you solve 1 or 2 sides first the recignition can be almost instant like the top cubers like ERik and Yu Nakajima and all of them.

  • Although the colour neutrality game sounds extremely fun, I'm too used to always solving white first (for 3x3x3), so I can't play it :(

  • Thats the point. You Can!

Itll just make your solves slower >=]

  • My main 1x1 speedcube is an origami Paul Jackson cube. Couldn't use that. I'd have to use my Crap Mega Block one
