This is a VERY straight forward song. It's not ambiguous, and it's definitely not about heroine. "Swaying to the rhythm of the new world Order..." He couldn't be hitting you over the head any harder with this one. If he said in an interview that the song was about a drug, then it was his comment in the interview that was a metaphor: about the addictiveness of all the comforting lies we like to believe. Listen to the whole song. The meaning is obvious.

@ctoedtman I think the guy that suggested it being about the holocaust was only refferring to the line "counting bodies like sheep to the rythm of war drums" and the rest of the song was about nazi germany in general, which fits the lyrics quite well. You could pretty much pick any government that tries to keep it's citizens in the dark and distort their views and the lyrics would fit for it.

the beauty of apc/tool/MJK - they leave their songs vague and open to interpretation of the listener so they can identify with song for themselves. But- i side more on the bush administration's ballsy efforts in keeping us asleep and paying no mind to the rabble all the while we must count the bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums. it has nothing to do with conspiracy theorists. this is pretty clear to me. He tells her to step away from the window symbolizing the truth and go back to sleep. Hear him talk about counting bodies like sheep (the jews) to the sound of the war drums. @dogkcits999 i thought of that too. i first heard this song in a hetalia music video with germany, (hetalia is an anime with personified nations...) so it had a lot of nazi germany and it was very haunting and creepy! so that made a lot of sense to me... although i think the song could also be referring to anyone with (too much) control over someone else.
and yeah, people who deny the holocaust are out of their minds.

@dogkcits999 I think the lyrics is more about how he want to protect his daughter to the world and how it is today, not knowing how the hole world is put together. I think youre right about the window symbolizing the truth, like we are kept from the truth by our coverments. That "counting bodies like sheeps" is we the poeple dying by their hands, volunteers in war etc. to the rythm og the new world order.. but that is my opinion though :)
