Man muss allerdings unterscheiden. Ich kenne Menschen, die bei akuten schweren Depressionen sich selbst etwas antun würden und es dann nach Medikamenten oder Therapien bereuen. Ich selbst kenne das auch. Von daher, glaube ich zunächst einmal nicht, dass man hier mit einem Gesetz tatsächlich eine generelle Lösung findet, die dann auch immer stimmt. Natürlich darf keiner über den Körper eines anderen bestimmen, aber ich glaube, dass einfach zusehen nicht generell gerecht ist

@TheInferus Ja, aber Achtung... hierbei geht es um einen Häftling der im ''Hungerstreik'' ist und der Hungerstreik bedeutet das er das aus Überlegung macht und nicht weil er Probleme hat, er will mit seinem Hunger protestieren also hat er das Recht dazu...

this is not about terrorist. the only crime this people committed, is illegal migration which means travelling without proper papers. hunger strike in this case s not a so much a statement, or a sign of mental problems for that matter, but a way out of prison.

when the state makes a law that allows force feeding for such people, it is just way beyond reasonable means. this law is a shame for austria.

Mal ganz ehrlich, man darf die Leute zwar nicht gegen ihren Willen ernähren, aber wenn jemand dann am Hungerstreik stirb ist das Geschrei auch wieder groß und die Gefängnisleitung wird wegen unterlassener Hilfeleistung verklagt... Ich finds auch übelst ecklig, aber trotzdem muss man für das wohlergehen der Insassen sorgen, und das heißt dass sie nicht verhungern sollen.

It is conected to the individuals mental stat. But that doesn´t have to mean that the individiual suffer from a mental illness. Eg you can refuse to eat to make a statement.
