i am also at high altitude...6800ft..and i run 87 octane in my 08 V6 f150 with my custom tuned SCT X3 tuner and intake. try 87 and see if it picks up any better. 85 feels like i have my foot on the brake while running compared to using 87.

Hey man, Im the brother of the guy who has the 01 f150 with a 5.4 on a 2wd and I can say with absolute certainty that having driven his truck for two years before he got it , that even though the motor and drive train is a stock set-up, based on your video, his truck would flat out kill your truck turn around come back and do it all over again. Im sure he hasnt posted a vid because he doesnt want you to feel obligated to go sell your truck for a ford. Good luck findin an 01 with only 45k miles.

Gree, a stock f-150 3.73 geared 4-speed 5.4L Triton V8 gets 0-60 in 8 sec. A stock Ram 3.92 (that's mine, I looked it up) geared 5-speed 5.7L HEMI V8 gets 0-60 in 7 sec. That is fact. 5.4L Tritons are not made for racing, they're made for work. HEMI engines are racing engines. They're aluminum-alloy casted, 16 valve 16 spark plug, LA Design engines. It just so happens in a ram truck, they can provide towing power. But it's more than that, Ford didn't make their truck for racing, because they put a 4-speed trans in it. Dodge wanted some performance capabilities with their new Hemis.

Gree, I'm starting to get the feeling that you really don't know a whole lot about the different circumstances that determine the performance of a vehicle. It's not just who has what kind of engine. And by the way, having "Ford" on the grille doesn't magically increase performance. Displacement, Hp, Torque, ?-speed trans, gearing, weight, body type, suspension, *tires*, Fuel type, amount of fuel in tanks, tire pressure, # of miles, location's elevation and ambient temp...Ect.

That's why you can't go around on YouTube, watching videos and believing that what you see is standard. for the record, I have a 2005, 7,000 lbs Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quadcab 5.7L HEMI V8 Magnum. 345 Hp 375 ft*lbs Torque 5,685 cc Displacement 5-speed auto trans, 3.92 geared, 20,000 miles, leaf-spring suspension, 5.5 year old tires, 87-octane, about half-full, tires a little overinflated, South Fla elevation, 90ish degrees. 0-60 in 7.0 sec with brake launch.

Agreed. I don't know what the fuck this guy did to his Ram... but I swear to God mine can easily beat this... and mine is stock. If I was doing this vid, or racing someone at 30 mph, I would downshift from "d" to "2," floor it, get better acceleration, keep in in "2" until about 70-75 mph, and shift back to "d" while still holding the gas all the way down. The acceleration like that is incredible. Takes no time at all to reach the governor limiter speed of 108 mph. And that's with bad old tires.

Hahaha. Yeah right. A HEMI will stomp a Triton into the dirt easily. The most powerful Triton to date is only 330 H.P. A HEMI, 390 H.P. BIG difference there.

@TheTerminator310 my 01 4x2 is completely stock except for an exhaust system, the 04 hemi had a k&n cold air intake, programmer, and magnaflow exhaust. my truck won by 2.3 seconds. unless you definition fo winning is finishing last, you need to shut the hell up about shit you have no idea about. if my 5.4 can beat the hemi while mine is stock and his is modified, im sure ford has and always will be the BEST SELLING truck over GM and Dodge.

Dude, I own a 2007 5.4 Triton F-150 and I know it WILL NOT out-run a HEMI, no questions asked. I know because I have felt the HEMI's acceleration too and the 5.4 Triton doesn't come close. The 5.4 Triton does make alot of good low-end torque for towing, but it is not good for speed. The HEMI is way better for acceleration.

#1: Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8 Quadcab 0-60: 6.5 sec

#2: Dodge Ram 5.7L Hemi V8 Quadcab 0-60: 7.0 sec

#3: GMC/Chevy Sierra 5.2L V8 Crewcab 0-60: 7.7 sec

#4: Ford F-150 5.4L Triton V8 Quadcab 0-60: 8.1 sec

I don't count the Titan cause it's a 5,000 lbs big bitch truck.

I don't know if the 0-60 times you gave are for the 2010 and 2011 models, but my '07 F-150 with the 300 H.P. 5.4L 3V Triton V8 from a wide open throttle stand-still launch goes from 0-60 in around 9.3-9.5 seconds.

One of my friends has an 06 F-150 QC 5.4L Triton V8 totally stock, and we got 0-60 in 8.1-ish seconds. It could be the altitude (we're in south Fla), or maybe one of your cylinder's is bad or something? Did you have this truck since 07? If so, did it have the same performance back then?

@MarineHawk117 No, it was used when I got it. There is nothing wrong with the motor though. I think the reason if you got 8.1 second 0-60 is because it probably came from the factory with 3.73 gear ratio in the rear-end. Mine has 3.55 gear ratio which is higher and makes it slower.

Lastly, let's discuss ram vs f-150. If I had to take a wild guess based on your past comments, you have a 4-speed trans, 3.73 geared, f-150 5.4L V8 Quad... stock, Right? (or is it a reg?) I have a 5-speed, 3.73 geared, Ram SLT Quadcab 5.7L Hemi V8 stock. Not only does it have more hp and more torque, it is a 5-speed, which provides better accel. The Tundra 5.7L is a 6-speed 4.30 geared, which is why it has better accel.
