  • Boy Howdy!!

  • the human brain has an itch that only chet can scratch

  • Such articulation and such command of the instrument! Those big body hollow sounding jazz guitars are the best kind of guitar ever, a man's guitar I should say!

  • yeah, those were the days...hard liquor, unfiltered cigarettes, doing your girlfriend bareback

  • wow people were alot shorter back then

  • man i wish i could go back, when guitar players were actually players and not 3 chords and some tones

  • Bet she gave him a BJ after that

  • Back when music didn't suck dick.

  • When men were men, women were women, and amps were amps.

One day I DREAM of being able to pick harmonics that swiftly and evenly.

  • She watch the strong fingers

  • That lady behind him wanted in his pants SOOO BAD at the end of the song. SUCH IS THE POWER OF CHET.

  • this song is really hard to play his style was so ahead of its time

  • he beats everyone. FUCKING GREATEST.

  • I agree with PavaoPaul!

  • genial!!

  • The Greatest Guitar Player of All Time !

No one can match him !

  • Have never heard this song before outside of Les Baxter's version

  • Edith Piaf made this song famous.

IThe english Intrumentals r nice, but... something is missing.

  • @schusterlehrling I agree. La goualante du pauvre jean is somehow 20x better than this for the mere fact that Edith sings.

  • he hit both strings who sounded like. he was suprised but no mistake. he got even more superpower.lol

  • awesome!

  • great music, super old in 1956 and my parents were born

  • One of my all time favorites <3

  • Proof positive, as if we needed it, that Chet could play any=thing, anywhere, for anyone...

  • I guess he says that in the beginning. I didn't realize he was referring to her. She looks like she's trying real hard to be impressed...didn't quite pull it off.

  • The girl is Oprey member ..Jean Sheppard and wife of Hawkshaw Hawkins

  • not flawless.. :34-> granted, he was undaunted, and finished.., well perfectly. btw I think that's Little Jimmy Dickens and Ernest Tubb. Don't know the girl.

  • It's great. Chet's technique was flawless. And a totally different world, ie. the tall and short guys at the start coming on with their arms around each other! It just couldn't happen now!!

  • Yeah, that was definitely weird!!!

  • Wonderful vintage! I was just coming into the world! Thanks for the the capsule!

  • This is a neat video. The title, The poor people of Paris, is the English version of the French song, La goulante du pauvre Jean, which was originally sung by Édith Piaf (and later by Yves Montand). Dean Martin sang the English version. Does anyone have this?

  • Beautiful, ...one of the masters.

  • you can listen over and over and never get bored

  • i keep forgetting what a sensation he was around the time i was born! i don't know what took my so long to find Chet's music, but better late than never. Just doesn't get any better! thanks for posting.

  • Chet, playing just as easy as we whistle ... from the beginning up to the end ...
