Hi, I wanted to ask you if you only downhill, especially with the truck and 4 x 4 and included leaving the accelerator reduced the engine goes insane, that is not the gear, but the quad starts as if there were marching in, thanks
do you ever have problems starting it on cold mornings i'v herd alot of bad stuff about arctic cats but i'v always liked them and wanted the arctic cat deisel can you tell me if you had ay problems at all and how you like it
just a quik qestion sorry for spellin if i wanted to put 30 inch outlaws would it have the power and would they fit wouthut lift kit or should i just het a canam outlander 800r couse i think deisel would be better in the mud but then again the arent a high revin motor.
@sargentghost24 Don’t know if the 30in would fit I run 27in and have a lot of room and have plenty of power but if you don’t love diesels you will be happier with the outlander 800 it has much more power and speed but if you love diesels you won’t be sorry it’s a sweet machine.
bair24 I have had this ACD also for 3 years and love it, It is no speed demon but that OK with me. I checked into turbo'n it with Lambardi and they told me the valves would not hold up to the extra heat so I dropped the idea. If you find an option for the turbo let me know.
I use my deisel elk hunting at 10,000 ft alt and it has trouble sucking enough air for high rpm's but it will keep up with the gas 500 & 600 cc models.
It climbs some serious hills & only used 3gals, gas guys used 15 gals
@BMAN167 I like Yamaha. I really do. I have 2 Yamahas.
But show me a Yamaha ATV that's going to have the stump pulling torque of the diesel Arctic Cat. Or for that matter, the strong CV joints and shafts this Arctic Cat does.
@BMAN167 Although the Grizzly 700 is a great machine, and although I like most everything Yamaha makes, Arctic Cat is known for having strong CV joints and shafts.
And NO gas engine is going to have the amount of torque at idle and low in the RPM range like a diesel engine does. Plus, a diesel will use less fuel. WHY do you think that the big rigs use diesel engines?
I'm sorry to break it to you, but Yamaha doesn't have ANYTHING like this machine.
@BMAN167 Agreed. When it comes to recreational riding, the Grizzly wins. This is mostly because of significantly less weight. Add the Grizzly's quicker revving engine that has more horsepower and shorter wheelbase, and it's a better performer in most any off-road situation.
But although the Grizzly is plenty for work for most people, the torque, extra weight, and longer wheelbase of the diesel Arctic Cat make it the harder worker.
Diesel doesn't aways cost more. It costs less to refine diesel. What makes it more at the pump is taxes. And much of that depends on the state, since diesel isn't more than gas in every state. I've been in several states where diesel costs less.
Regardless, it's usually not THAT much more per gallon, yet a diesel engine will use less fuel. So it still costs less for fuel since it uses less.
@bair24 700s go 65 too my uncle has a 700 gas arctic cat so this might go slower or might be the same but at least it has pulling power! IF you want speed get a sport quad!
@ace930981119 no it wouldn't the motor only turns around 3100 rpm a go kart turns more around 7or 8000 rpm or more and I bet you can't run 130 or 140 with the motor you have now so putting a motor that turn less rpm will only make you go slower.
@bair24 but if you install a cvt clutch kit with large spindals the extra diesel torque would easily spin the cvt plates until they maxed out but who would waste that on a dumb go kart that some ones dumb friend is gunna wreck anyways
@highwaystar148 bc I love the sound of a diesel engine and the torque, and it will go twice as far as a gas on the same amount of gallons of fuel, and the last off road diesel I got was cheaper then gas so it’s worth it to me.
They should have suited the tranny to the engine rather than use the same one as the gas version. No reason the top speed couldn't be better and same with the acceleration with a proper setup. Looks like a real workhorse which will last a very long time, though, which is the most important thing.
Powersguy - are you that inept that you can't just google "Arctic Cat Diesel" and see hundreds of hits, reviews and websites on Artic Cats Diesel. Research before you put your foot in your mouth
you guys are all fucking retards for believing some bullshit like this. this is not diesel and never will be. no atvs are diesel and prolly will be another 10 years before its even in the plans. you guys are seriously some of the dumbest people on youtube if you believe this is a diesel. and to the person that posted this vid, good job on making everyone THINK this is a diesel because they dont know better. fucking retards.
you are right I dont work for Arctic Cat and I never said I did you are a big boy if you want to really see if they exist you can look them up your self
lmao i work for artic cat and yes we do have a 700 diesel dumb ass why dont you go look it up before you talk becuase you look like a fucking idiot now lol dumb ass
Maybe you should do just a little research next time, before making yourself look like a total ass. It won't let me post a link, but use the search feature on the internet. keywords: Arctic Cat Super Duty Diesel.
you should read before you speak. ats an arctic cat 700 DIESEL. get your foot out of your mouth and your head out of your ass and do some damn reasearch before you start mouthing off and get your ass handed to you by anyone with some common product knowledge. listen to the fucking thing! you have been told by the public of youtube.
your fucking retarded period thats it. they have been researching desil engins in 4 wheelers for military use for the last 3 years . as of 2009 arctic cat came out with its first publically released desil 4 wheeler. so dont open your mouth if you dont know what the fuck your talking about
The only time I seen it blow some pretty good black smoke was when I was pulling my dads side by side out of a mud hole. It never really smokes just driving it around.
wow thats really good, i know alot of the super duty pickups dont even do that, except the cummins, also a smaller preheating system for big engines, maybe you could do a cold start video for me?
it sounds like a gas until u stop then u can hear the diesel knock.....nice bike man whats the fuel mileage on that?? my polaris 500 gets about 120 km on a 15.5L tank
It accelerates slower than a gas but it is a diesel it doesnt run half the RPMs a gas does so its going to be slower cents they pretty much both have the same transmission.
Did you find that the front springs and shocks were soft? I had recently put on some 08 700H1 springs and shocks on my diesel and found that the front shocks and springs were soft. They sucked down about 2-3 inches. (This is when they are turned all the way up). Thinking of putting in a little lift as well.
@Cockshuttman no, my shocks are fine. They're off of an '06 650H1 and I think '08 is when they started putting softer shocks on them to give them a more sporty feel. I would look into putting '06 shocks on, the stiffer shocks will help with your ground clearance. I have 14 inches of ground clearance with 27 inch tires. just another way to go if you don't really want to put a lift on.

jml021067 2 years ago
I used just regular 06 650H1 shocks and springs, they gave it a lot more ground clearance
bair24 2 years ago
@bair24
Did you find that the front springs and shocks were soft? I had recently put on some 08 700H1 springs and shocks on my diesel and found that the front shocks and springs were soft. Cockshuttman 1 year ago
