@nickichavez respóndeme donde escondes las favelas de la Argentina? por el culo?
Argentina es que debería haber sido feliz, esta es una victoria no sólo en Brasil es una victoria para los sudamericanos, que siempre ha sido humillado
I have never been fond of Chicago, but I would never make a bad speech about that city or its people. I wouldn´t frighten visitors beforehand if Rio had lost for Chicago, instead. I am not very fond of Rio as well, but it will be a totally different experience to have the Olympic Games held here in Brazil. It will be good for Latin Americans and an opportunity for a different journey for those used to keep limited to the Northern Hemisphere. Relax and Enjoy!
wrong mentality because, if brazil wants to REALLY hold the games, needs at least 5 billion of 30 billion in progress with poverty, the street kids, homeless, etc... its not ONLY material structure for the games that are needed !!! in 7 years, brazil needs to create education, and stop the high...horrible crime mentality in that city !!!!!!!!! then talk about holding important international events. With the violent crime, tourists will not go put their lives in danger... sorry rio !!!!!!!
sorry to remind you all... unfortunately, brazil brings violent reality, where one has nothing to eat, and has no roof... no education, no culture... rio is very violent and criminal... the millions of tourists that will decide to come will be in great DANGER...in 30 billion needed, the government announced ONLY 1 billion for the favelas, that is the proof of the wrong mentality
The big difference about brazil and the other countries is that we know how to make an amazing party and we are a very friendly people.....we try to help as possible we can no matter in what!!
Many times, that's why I say so. In my residence during my masters degree I used to host the friday parties of my building in my room. But to me your question has fucking nothing to do with what im saying.
Mate no offense but you're someone boring to argue with. That fact you state does not support your conclusion at all. I think you need to improve your logic capacity.
It's often boring trying to follow the rhetorical constructs of somebody whose mental capabilities are far beyond your own. Many people might experience disengagement while trying to follow a discussion on quantum mechanics, for example. You probably tune out into a vacant stare every day trying to listen to understand the weather forecast. Don't let it get you down. Courage, friend! There's a place for even the humblest of us in God's grand scheme.
To explain my original reply - which was a simple question, but like all insecure narcissists you interpreted it as a personal attack, hilariously - you were basically saying that hosting the Olympics invites trouble, mess and personal expense. I was saying - that's what a party IS: it involves sacrifice on the part of the host, but it can boost social standing, respect, prestige. You don't want the cost or the risk, don't host a party, and stay as a small timer.
- your third argument is weak in two parts: First, it is based on a possibility: but it CAN boost social standing, respect, prestige whereas mine is a fact: there will be costs and risks.
Second, it is as well an unsupported assumption: since the Olympic Games is not the only incentive for Rio to improve its social standing, respect and prestige.
I told you, you need to practice mate, I could give you some bibliography, if you need any.
I can edit as much as I wish and have my ideas in disorder/order as much as I wish as well. I dont see why its awful, if it is for you, well, good for you.
No. it is you who needs to practice. (Laughs at small child scrabbling around in the unfamiliar arena of rhetoric.)
Your argument appears to be that the costs are fixed whereas the benefits are uncertain, and that therefore the deal is a bad one. But THAT IS THE NATURE OF RISK. You mistakenly place the risk into the cost category, whereas the risk is the balance of the cost with the uncertain reward.
Well its not a risk, its a sure thing: foreigners will go there to cause a mess in the city while having a laugh. And Rio can achieve the potential benefits that the Olympic Games could bring to the city by other means. I think your rhetoric needs to improve loads mate.
"since the Olympic Games is not the only incentive for Rio to improve its social standing, respect and prestige."
Do you have that back to front? I think you meant to say "improve its social standing, respect and prestige is not the only incentive for Rio to want to host the Olympic Games".
But it's hard to tell. English is clearly not your first language.
"Argue at your native language"? What are you attempting to say in your ham-fisted, garbled manner? I suggest you brush up on your prepositions and then return here with your new-found knowledge. Cheerio, and remember: learning is fun.
Oh, and I LOVE your little attempt here to assert your intellectual credentials. "See? I did a masters degree! I have a special little badge that proves that I'm brainy! I may come across as a narcissistic doofus, but I can *assure* you that I'm brilliant!" I do always enjoy the Argument from Authority - the first and preferred refuge of the underachiever.
At first it seemed Rio was the underdog candidate city, but they came out great and I was rooting for them all along, the first games in South America!!
LOL... WOW! I am also happy with the 2016 Olympics going to Rio. I also agree with you about the women. But your ignorance and stupidity is very obvious with your thug comment. If you have really been to Rio De Janerio then you would know that there are parts that make Chicago look like Mayberry. It's easy to lie and make foolish comments when you can hide behind a keyboard. Anyway... VIVA BRAZIL!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
To me, it does not make any sense that Brazilians get so happy after Rio de Janeiro has been chosen to host the olympic games because:
- many strange people from other cities will go to yours to piss on the streets.
- as a government, you have to fucking do a big effort to have a proper place to host people who will go to make a mess of your city.
- People from other cities are just going there to use your city, have a laugh and then go back to theirs.
I would prefer to go outside my city
