OMG! so ok, i have a 1 foot arrowana, i have a lid on the tank , the tank is downstairs, and sometimes at night i hear loud thunks. so it must be the arrowanna jumping ! MAKES SENSE NOW!
hey type in arowana jump, scroll down till you see aro jumps 25cm 0r 10 inches this one is huge to but the other is just crazy im trying to kinda train mine as well, i could really use some tips from anyone, thanks
I have 2 black aro and they jump on their own but not realy high.Training as young is good one way is to make sure their hungry and feed them holding the food so they jump for it.I suggest fish.I've seen my friend doing it and it works but it also will depend on how big your tank will be.
if your fish is used to you it will be good,he won't be scared to jump.also you know that you have to start from low then go higher.Hope it works so you can post a vd for us.
That's cool! My girlfriend's brother has one jardini and he would feed it frozen shrimp. He would tied the shrimp on a very tiny tread and dangle the shrimp 3 to 4 inches from the water... His fish would jump and catch the shrimp in his mouth. We enjoyed watching it everytime.
It may be hard to see, but there is a top on my aquarium... I hung the cricket with a paper clip from the top. I know that arowana are good jumper. Your advice is corect, arowana aquarium need a cover, but not to avoid insects in! Arowana eat insects!! I don't know where you're from, but in Canada, there is no insect an arowana should be affraid of! The cover is to avoid the arowana to jump out of the aquarium. That can hurt him... not the insects! funny comments!
@seebaas1000 LoL izanafiza was telling you that you should not leave your top open because if an insect starts flying around your tank, this can encourage your arowana to jump and possibly fall out when you're not there to save him. it happened to me before... but I've also had fish jump out the tank and die later that day after they've returned to the tank/water. So it's good you feed WITH the lid on. What's not good is keeping an arowana in a fish tank that fits through your doorway builda 500
@jaldridge28 he said 6" that's pretty fucking embarrassing for u
TheToanduong 2 months ago
6 feet huh? it was 4 inches and the fish was also 4 inches so in a total of 8 inches of you somehow come up with 6 feet......dumb ass

Did you not know Arrowana's can jump out of the water before you bought it?
They're great fish - probably too demanding for me though.

Seriously one of the coolest fish videos I have seen on you tube. How long did it take for you to get him to do this? Or was it just natural to him?
tkkamele 2 years ago
Hang a cricket above the water, sit back and watch! They can jump several feet high when they are older.

Thats why never let your aquarium top open. Insect may come in and your Arowana may injured itself

@seebaas1000 i guess izana meant that if insects get in ur aro may just jump to eat the insects and hits the tank cover....
