This is wonderful! I love it! These are the most sacred words given to man. I would like to commune with God this way with you.
I cannot believe that there are a few people criticizing it. There should be no limit on how to praise God, or in how to be a Jew. There are many cultural flavors.
My family were sephardics who came to the American frontier in the 1600's. This works for me!
i dont know what it says but it sounds good, i love Jew people, i love Israel and i pray EVERY single day for their peace, their protection and for the coming of the messiah. Shalom from United States
I believe the intention is good, but we must be very careful if we are going to be part of the olive tree, we need to be wholly part of it, and respecting the Holy Spirit, ESPECIALLY if it's messianic, not so sure, but to me this looks like a chant/mantra/almost cultish...please forgive me sincerely if I am wrong, but the spirit of God must not be made a fool of....I've check out other madzub stuff, and the Holy Spirit comes to convict in order for there to be conversion...to Christ
It's singing. The words in english are "Hear Israel the lord is your God and the lord is ONE." - It's a declaration of faith. I noticed you use the Greek term for Messiah 'Christ' please don't fall into the trinity tap because this declaration Deut 6:4 is the antithesis to the Trinitarian idea introduced by the Greeks.
@TheMintusmaximus -You got that right. I am Christian myself, but it's clear from the origial scriptures that Jesus never considered himself God, and the trinity wasn't even developed till like 300 years later. At the council of Nicea they declared Jesus was god, but had no idea what the holy spirit was, so even then, the trinity wasn't established. Of course, both Judaism and Christianity went through changes. Even with this 'Shema', it was never written 'Adonai Eloheinu' but 'Yehowah Eloheinu'
@Bimfirestarter It's pretty clear from the original Christian scriptures that Jesus did claim to be God. He almost got killed a few times for claiming it.
@777jordan 'The father and I are one'? Yet he told his apostles 'you must all be one, JUST AS the Father and I are one.' He ain't talking about oneness of body, but oneness of purpose. He also said 'The Father is greater than I am' and 'I am ascending to my God and your God, to my Father and your Father', so from his own admission, God is someone seperate from him and greater, even after his return to heaven. Son of God, yes. This is my understanding, let's not argue till we're blue in the face.
@Bimfirestarter but YHWH was suppose to be uttered by the high priest, the Kohen Gadol not the ordinary folk. And the pronunciation is lost in antiquity, well since u r a xtian you'll disagree.
@junjimalaza I cannot stand it when people try to pronounce His name when no one truly knows how to pronounce it. I do not believe people should even try in fear that they happen to say it correctly (unlikely) and use it in vain!
@pitojuancito I studied for several months to find his true name and researched all I could on it. The commandment means to not use a false name in His Name's place. Like Lord or God. Those are both false names. I won't do the research for you. Go look and study. It is still there encoded into the scripture so that even if they tried they could not remove HaShem. He put his name there over 6000 times and said that at last when His Kingdom came even a Cow would have HOLINESS TO ____. Now Study!
@junjimalaza The scriptures themselves quote Eve and Abraham and Moses and Ahab and royalty and common people as using the name Yhwh with the greatest freeness. Boaz and his men greeted eachother with the phrase 'Yhwh be with you'. So according to the TANAKH, not me 'since I'm a xtian', the Divine Name was not in the slightest restricted to use by the High Priest. With roughly 6900 occurences throughout it, it's rather impossible to prove otherwise.
@junjimalaza -Forget the TANAKH, scores of ancient pre-exilic Hebrew inscriptions show that the name Yahweh/Jehovah was in common use in theophoric names like Yehochanan and Hosha'yahu, as I'm sure you're well aware, but also in full. I would encourage you- if you care- to investigate the so-called 'Lachish Letters' which demontrate this use of the Tetragrammaton in everyday greetings. These weren't documents of any High Priest, but soldiers and such. The Widow ostracon is a commoner who uses it
@Bimfirestarter Jesus does claim to be God in John 8:58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I AM!” Many Christians miss this due to translation, but if you go back to the original text, He uses "I AM" the same way God did when He was speaking with Moses. That is why the Pharisees picked up stones to throw at Him, because they understood this.
@pitojuancito They wanted to kill him because he claimed to be older than their 'father' Abraham. In the translations of that Greek text it is 'Hayithi' in Hebrew, not present tense. Even in Exodus it's Ehyeh 'I Will Become' not 'I am'. Greek misconstrues it a little.
@Bimfirestarter Also, it was "originally written YHVH ELVHYNV, when vowels were inserted to help younger generations remember how to pronounce the words, the vowels of Adonai were inserted between YHVH in a smaller way to notify the reader YHVH was not to be pronounced but Adonai was to be said in place of it. Translators, not knowing this about Jewish culture translated it to YHWH and JHVH, with vowels of course, as most know it today. In truth NO ONE knows the TRUE pronunciation of God's name.
@junjimalaza No, it's connected to the Divine Proclamation at Exodus 3 "Ehyeh 'asher Ehyeh', coming from the same root as 'Ehyeh', which means 'I will Become' or 'I shall Prove to be'. YHWH means 'HE will Prove to be' or 'He causes to be'.
@TheMintusmaximus In ancient times, the name Yehowah was used freely, as so many ancient Hebrew inscriptions attest, even Egyptian ones and non-Israelite ones, showing the name was known even among the enemies of Israel. So it shows quite a contrast between modern day Judaism, which prohibits the use of God's name. (I refer to finds such as the Lachish Ostracon and the Mesha Stele and the Shasu-yahweh inscriptions from Egypt).
@snuffluphagus2 "Cultish" before you call anyone cultish or make any IGNORANT crass judgment against anyone......please examine your own ideals......"Messianic"? some consider that to be "cultish" and well any kind of JESUS FREAK is cultish and repugnant whether Gentile or "Jew"
@DominicanoOR Who or what is a Jesus freak? one who thinks that he/she is married to God, likes to repeat Bible verses all day ans thinks that he/she was the first person ever to read the particular Bible verse and God 'revealed " it only to them.
The dome of the rock Is the adbomination that causes desolation as written in revelation.
