the body armor that's able to resist rifle calibers are he so-called rifle plates which are added into body armour/(like US interceptor armor). If the round hits the plated area, it stops the bullet, but the plates will shatter with multiple impacts.
Good against few hits not, an MG burst to the body
@WarJunkieAndExpert if this world could produce halo spartan armor , without any training , any normal people just take a machine gun and can fight war already

@steelpanther id think you'd find that a higher percentage of military munitions use cordite instead of traditional gunpowder.

@TheWhoaDude Heads are really small and move a lot. A torso is much bigger larger and does not move so much. Much easier to hit.
