  • I'm a dude and that made my eyes tear up. Praise Jesus he is still alive!

  • Awe that made me cry glad to see Justin is doing better. GO JUSTIN! :)

  • SIMPLY AWESOME!!! Thank you for sharing your story and please update us on how he's doing! Your brother is a very brave and determined young man. You and your family are also very strong and caring people. You represent the term "Family Values" and are an inspiration to everyone who views this video. Justin, youre the man and with all of me....Here's to a FULL recovery! Take Care, Michael Sacramento, Ca

  • As someone who is in the hospital right now recovering from a brain injury, this is truly inspiring to me. Thank you, you are an awesome person, Justin!

  • well done Justin!

  • He came along way...he should be proud....go justin! I am ICU nurse

  • What a beautiful and inspirational video! It really had me in tears and I am in awe of the great results of Justin's therapy shown in this video. Good to hear that he is as close to normal again and still healing. I'm born with a brain injury due to lack of oxygen at birth and had to spend more time than other kids learning things but I can still relate to other cases of brain injury too. Keep up the great work, Justin! :)

  • I f-ing admire that guy Justin! I hope he is doing great!

  • Can I talk to y'all?

  • Me too brother. I was like that too. Similar injuries. In '08. I am going to give it up though. Never ever going to put on a helmet. I might coach however. I might do physical therapy. I might write/perform gospel music too. It is God who saved us. God is among us everyday. Amen? :)

  • I understand his feelings. I too am injured and share many similar problems. He needs to know he is special and very significant in God's plan. I know it sounds cliche or whatever, however, he is alive and getting better everyday that he allows that to take place. We must remember that diet and wellness promotes healing and lifestyle is the key. Only the strongest souls can withstand these challenges to be the needed inspiration for those many others around us. He has given me hope- thanks

  • made me really tear up when his son was sitting inthe bed with him and when his son was running to his father on the field .....thank god hes recovering so well ...he ment to do something special in life

  • This video has inspired me to be the best I can be and take steps to achieve my goals in life. It also taught me not to take things in life for granted.

  • His anger issues do seem to have dwindled though in the last year so that is great. Hopefully he can keep that progress going.

His personality is close to the same, but some differences. Hard to explain the differences but they are there.

He'll undoubtedly get better as more and more time passes. The end goals we all want for him is to be independent, be able to support himself, and be happy. He's probably recovered about 90%, but that last 10% is the hardest. He'll make it.

  • Thanks for commenting.

He definitely has memory problems. It's like he stores the memories but cannot recall them unless with some help. Whatever process normally goes on in the brain that can quickly search through the vast memories and pick out the right one has been affected. He will almost always recall the memory though if you just give him some hints.

He has had problems keeping his anger in check now. Though there were signs of this before his accident but it is more prominent now.

  • I have a friend who suffered a very bad brain injury also, and her personality has a changed a bit. I was just curious how much he has changed psychologically? Like if he has memory, emotional, or personality issues?

  • I feel bad about my own TBI, then I see this

  • Thank you so much for letting us see this. Yes I ended in tears but they were happy tears. I pray Justin and his son are doing well. Nothing gets you serious like your own child.

  • I'm soo happy he is ok ;)

  • Wow. I'm a physiotherapist who came across this video...amazing work Justin! So inspiring as a therapist to see you recover so much.

  • This Is So terrible (what happened) Justin is so amazing to have gone through this and not giving up! God Bless You!

  • aww

  • I too had a brain injury. Not fun at all

  • nuckletouch to the parents

  • @Chowmeinaddict

Hi, this is Justin, in the video with the brain injury. Bout 2 years later and I am fine. The only thing I still lack, is my running capability and I'm not mentally challenged, just my short term memroy is horrible...I tend to forget what happened like a couple of hours ago, but I do usually remember important things...like my son that you see in the vid...because I focus on him more than any of my other surroundings.

  • @djustinlogan Best of luck in the future my friend, it's a miracle that well you didn't go *mentally challenged* (sorry to mention that again), i see alot of events and movies, where someone gets a serious head injury, they become mental

  • @Chowmeinaddict

no worries...I did go to a rehabilitation where they worked on all sorts of injuries including "mentally challenged"

  • whats on his hand

  • @InTeRvEnTiOnxxKAOS

the mit on my hand was just so I wouldn't hit anybody including myself...I was annoyed easily and still...just dont annoy me ;) and I didn't like wires running through me, that was saving my life. But still, they were very annoying.

  • great video there, v. happy to see your brother recover so well. well done to him.

14mnths since my TBI, turns your life on its head!

  • @fabulousmik

My son has known when to be careful with me and he knew when to check on me. I love him. I'm so happy to have him as a son and seeing how he did with me while I was in the hospital, I'm sure thats what he would do while I'm on my death bed again.

  • I love the part where they were hanging is brother (?) to him and he knew what was going on. He wanted to the child.

  • @Ninstroyer

that was my son and I did want him.

  • @djustinlogan That was so sweet. =)

  • Thats a lovley picture when the little boy smiles when he was in bed with him. You are a miracle. God bless you and your family.

  • You are amazing for sure! Keep up the great work. You are an inspiration to so many!

  • Wow. I am glad he is getting better.

  • This video made me cry...esp when they put the little boy in bed with him. Kids dont care...they just love. Thats what we all should do. My boyfriend was ejected out of a car traveling almost 100 MPH and we were sooo lucky that he had no brain damage...just broken bones. This video makes me realize the trajedy we could have had. Good luck in his recovery and I wish you all the best. :)

  • Brain chip - CHECK MY SITE

  • won't be helpful for 20 years at least, i bet 50 years.

  • Did you read the article about it. I have the directions on my site. A guy spent a decade making it with others. Google - popular science the memory hacker

  • straight from the article:

"Yet we are still years away, possibly decades, from getting ourselves fitted for a personal memory upgrade. But, Granger says, â€it´s time to take the idea seriously.†"

if they get it safe and actually useful for someone with brain injuries in less than 20 years ill be surprised. soemthing like this will require years and years of perfecting and safety tests.

  • Hi, what do you mean by? memory upgrade. Your brother has done so well, there people out there that don't do as well. He's so lucky. and he's got a great family. I wish him the best.

  • god bless you man thats a miracle that hes ok now, i know you probably get this question alot but how exatly did this happen?

  • I cied when they put that little boy into bed with him

  • 1. That was a really quick recovery!

    2. It was sooo sweet to see him leaving the hospital walking! and then walking across that football field!

    3. I'm a fan of Michael! cuuuuuute!

  • would you please send me the name & the address & the telephone number for the rehab center tha justin was in during the recovery process..

with my all best wishes to him to be better than before, & thnx for the inspiring video.

  • check your inbox

  • No offense at all.

But is he mentally handicapped now?

Or did he get everything back?

    I'm just curious.

  • He's not mentally handicapped. He's just like himself before with some deficiencies. His short term/intermediate memory isn't what it was, but its slowly getting better. That is a huge problem because it takes a lot more time to for him to learn new things.

Maybe some higher level thought process has been hindered. But its gotten a lot better than it was and its not too noticeable now.

The big thing is his memory and a short fuse temper. But its all getting better, slowly but surely.

  • Most people are really moody and short tempered for years afterwards but it also gets better with time (a really long time) you just gotta have a lot of patience, "this too shall pass" I assure you!

  • great vid justin... very inspirational... i had a tbi from professional MX in 94... and my rehibilitation process was just like yours... but the one thing that caught my eye and touched me... was when you said... ur still striving and climbing in life... thats all us tbi people can do... we may not do the things we used to ... but hopefully; after yrs we can surpass our old abilities!!! thnks brain

  • Thank you.

  • Great video!. This video is very inspirational and gives hope to anyone who is face with obstacles.

Good luck Justin with everything you do.. you are a real solider of life.

  • thank you so much for this video. my father had a brain injury after a double bypass surgery, he lost oxygen to the brain during the surgery. this video gives me alot of hope, im hoping my dad recovers as well as justin did. its so hard to see a loved one suffer. this video brought tears to my eyes..good luck to u and justin. please pray for my father.

  • Wow. Youve traveled far on this road. Keep the faith, youre doing wonderfully@

  • thanks for caring for me theres a lot of people that i dont know so is there someone you know thats in the same position im in

  • its a mitten. At that point he was not aware of much of anything except primitive needs, comfort basically. Which means he was removing everything that gave him discomfort. He pulled his feeding tube out many times and his trache. He would also undo his backbrace that he needed to wear to support his spine since he broke many vertebraes.

  • mitten was supposed to prevent him from doing all of that, but he managed to bite through it or stretch it out enough so his fingers coudl get a grip on his feeding tube and still able to pull it out.

  • Beautiful video. Thank you to Judi (Justin's Mom) for sending me the link. It's amazing, and inspiring and heartwarming.

How very proud you all must be.

    God bless your family!

  • Beautiful Story! Thank you for sharing this to so many in giving people hope. Esp. the support of family members, which is probably the most important ingredient in recovery of TBI. It is through faith and love that we (I have a brother that is a survivor of TBI from 40 years ago) that helps them moving forward one step at a time. My blessings to you, Justin, and your entire family! Tracey Anne Miller
