Biman used to be a quality airline once. Back in 98' I flew for the first time with them and it was such a good experience. The DC 10s were in good condition, the crew were really chatty and cheerfull and food was excellent. Now they are a shadow of their former self.

biman is a small airline but compare to some major airlines like american airlines, united airways, scandanivian etc. bimans safety record is good! least accidents n fatalities! but yeag they need to improve their service! hopefully it will change when the new aircrafts arrive!

Biman has got to be one of the last airlines that still flies DC-10s. It's a great plane to see, fly on, and quite wide. Sure, they do a horrible job on their schedules and infamous seating arrangements (2-5-2, unbelieveable! Too many on the middle row), but it's like stepping into the 80s. The decor, the projectors, the outdatedness (which I love, by the way). What other airline still flys DC-10 that are over 20 yrs. old? Long live the DC-10s!

@SylhetiPrince You might want to check your facts - American Airlines has no DC-10s in their fleet at all. They operated the DC-10 from 1971 to 2000, and its successor the MD-11 from 1991 to 2002.

Currently (2011) Biman are the only airline in the world using the DC-10 on regular passenger services. There are a few airlines who fly the cargo variants regularly, and charter companies like Omni Air.

but even if its not running ... the fan blade should rotate because of wind. Thats weird!

May be The camera couldnt capture the angular speed of the blade. or it was glued :P lol

First Officer doesnt even get a seat back? there is a sheet of what appears to be metal for him to lean on?

I love the DC10, im happy its in service but I wouldnt fly this one. Not in its current condition, at least wash it. Mind you I enjoy watching the old girls in the air rather than sitting with no engines in the desert.
