  • I hadn't remembered The Partridge Family doin' this one but that Ruben Kincaid is obviously one helluva manager! ;b

  • Great song and great pics!

  • if she was 200 stone now id still love her

  • I would go with susan dey in a minute she was the girl when we were in jr. high school great memories :) BG

  • she was so beautiful. Was the perfect girl for any guy.

  • She was a beauty, no make up nothing, One of the most pure beautiful women in the world. I am 55 and still have a crush on her. I can look at her all day.

  • Wow at 0:36 ... What a natural beauty...

  • i know today i never ever got over my crush for susan day, im 49.

  • she sure is a natural beauty Of Eh Woman You Just Dont See woman Like Her No More

  • Im 12 again and shes beautifully unattainable............again

  • Susan Dey lights our fire...just like an ole Jim Morrison and the Doors song...Dan O'Niallain

  • 2:05!! Wow.

  • Yah, this is crazy... just remember Susan Dey from LA Law (and she WAS hot there too, but still...) and this video whatever just makes me want to go back in time and marry her and then take her away from Hollywood and cradle her in my bosom and shelter her from the harsh world as we work as fishing guides in Bora Bora and raise a family... weird, right?

  • @johnvannewhouse I can totally identify with everything you've written, it's hilarious, just remember though that it's only me that she would have ever considered running off with to Bora Bora

  • this song doesn't just make you want to fuck that girl... it makes you want to hold her and watch the sunset.

  • @BassHeadsProduction Great reply!

  • Susan Dey, oh yeah...dedicated plenty of whacks to her.

  • Susan Dey was a good choice. I remember when she seemed to be the classic style of beauty that was so popular in those days, the long straight hair like Olivia Hussey etc.

Then it seemed like the Farrah Fawcett poster came out one day and everything went haywire.

  • @intormentis Susan Dey set the standard for Farrah. But remember Marsha Brady was before that. Farrah poster 1976. partridge family TV SHOW 1970-1974

  • @intormentis Susan stayed hot in the public eye even after Farrah. Even though the movie "Looker" is not exactly considered a classic, its good on its own terms and very inventive for 1981. Susan shows her whole body in a nude scene in that movie as well. Albert Finney is trying to keep her from being killed by an evil James Coburn. Watch it, good for its day.

  • @sadalite Thanks I'll watch it.

  • Classy song, classy Susan, nice choice, both are beautiful......I never realized just how beautiful she really was.....

  • I also had a crush on lovely Susan Dey in the early 1970s (as obviously the creator of this video did). She was a Sears catalog model before she became a star with the Partridge Family. Once a fell in love with her on TV I went back and found her pictures in all our old Sears catalogs! She was also a big hit in Tiger Beat.

  • those eyes! would bring any man to his knees!

  • niceeeee!!

  • OH GOD! Susan Dey! LOL, Yep, I was in love with her when I was a kid ;)

  • I love Susan's Bubbly blue eyes in the second picture.

  • Wow does this bring back some fond memories

  • Be careful what you wish for, if my memory is correct Susan developed an alcohol dependency. In these times when stardom can be instantaneous some gifted creative people are unprepared mentally and emotionally

  • She Sure Is A Strikingly Gorgious Women shes just as beautifull as a Rainbow a sunset and a pretty flower

  • I used to race home from school to watch the partridge family, always thought Laurie was a Goddess, thanks for these beautiful pictures of her, she is just so bloody beautiful in these pictures, just goes so well with the music, not sure if it's the half bottle of JD or what but I just love that you did this.

  • I just love this song, yes perfect woman for this s

  • she's very pretty...

  • man, those are some great pictures of Susan Dey! A really good choice for this song.

  • When I was her age I was told I looked like her..:))

  • @MySonjah That is a great compliment to you.

  • Gorgeous Song !

    Gorgeous Woman !!

  • She's a beauty!! I remember her from childhood..she's perfect for the song.

  • Susan dey was the one that made me realize my Bruce Lee lunch box wasn't all that.

  • I had a huge crush on Susan Dey on the Partridge Family. I was four years younger than she was.

  • Peace

  • >> Two thumbs up! ^^

  • What a lovely young woman back then. Had many wonderful days crushing out on her. Thanks for sharing the great photos.

  • Thumbs up if Susan Dey got you through puberty.

  • chissykim, your montage is right on target. I was one of millions of young teen guys in the early seventies who were in love with Laurie Partridge.

  • Good Choice Great Vid, She was pin - up girl for the 70's- thumbs up on this one

  • Wow, I remember Susan mainly from LA Law but never realized she wreaked of such hawtness and sexitude! Nice compilation.

  • susan dey looks like she is 12yrs old

  • Beautiful video, Beautiful song, Beautiful Susan..... :)

  • Awesome vid. My first crush as a child was on this lady as many of us children of the sixties. Thanks for bringing back fond memories. Peace,,,Suthrnfryd.

  • Screw Marsha Brady I had the hots for Susan!!

  • Sunny, just like the beauty of the video...

  • @Smackdaddy9 I wonder if she ever dated David Cassidy. Who knows maybe Jack Cassidy had an affair with Susan Dey. Jack was a hip and swinging guy back in the 1970s.

  • @TDS4UT David admitted to sleeping with Susan on a documentary of The Partridge Family

  • @numberonejoker So David Cassidy scuttled her?

  • @leeking007 Yea can you blame him for wanting some of that..I cant..They said they had a thing going..They both were young and nice looking so thats that..Peace

  • @numberonejoker Well I can't blame him. Glad to see that he got something out of working on that show. It must have been embarrassing. He was working with his mother and the show was kind of lame. He could have been in a real rock and roll band. But the concept sold. I can remember my mother wanted to start a band with me after seeing that show. She got me my first guitar. We actually did a talent show with me on guitar, my mother was the singer and one of my female cousins played the drums.

  • tie yellow ribbon on the old oak tree

  • to quote Bud Bundy "yum..."

  • what a total babe she was.

  • I had a poster of her in my garage when I was a teenager, anyway I always liked this song and Bread. Susan, I think I love you!

  • @1955Cal Holy molly guacamoleeee!

  • de las mejores canciones de bread,q tiempos aquellos de los mejores

  • thanks for the memories, from the other posts I see I am not the only one that went back in time and smiled , if only just a little while

  • Susan Dey is from the wrong group, but hey, "baby I'm-a-wanted her" too!

  • Stunning ,NATURAL beauty.

  • Classic beauty, classic song. Great post.

  • A beautiful song...and a beautiful woman.

  • Susan Dey emitted a wholesome beautiful girl that we could all identify with. We all wanted someone like her. Some of us found someone like her and were ruined for life when we moved on.

I reconnected with "the one" later in life and was happy for a while until we found out that the times had changed and nothing was the same.

Still love her but know that's it's over and we can't go back to what we had.

  • It's a wonderful song, & I had a huge crush on one of the finest babes of all time in Susan Dey! I look at repeats of The Partridge Family & I know why I was crushing on her! WOW! She is so dreamy! OMG! Baby I'm-a Want You! I love Susan Dey! (Howie!)

  • Why was Susan Dey picked in a series of photographs to represent this song? Did Susan Dey have a relationship with the songwriter? Was this song written for her?

  • @TDS4UT Susan had no connection with David Gates or Bread that I know of. I chose this combination of music and photos because "Baby I'm-a Want You" is one of *the* classic early '70s soft rock love songs. And Susan Dey is in many ways the epitome of an early '70s natural beauty. So, the two just seemed to go well together. In my mind, at least :)

  • @chissykim Okay. Fair enough. I was watching a video performance of the Beatles of "Hey Jude." It was produced for the David Frost Show in 1968. The Beatles filmed this at Twickenham Studios, where they later filmed "Let it Be." The performance was filmed as if the Beatles were actually performing live at the TV studio but they weren't. David Frost was at Twickenham to do the introduction for them. Extras were brought in. There was a girl that looked like Susan Dey.

  • @chissykim nice presentation, I think you made a good choice with Susan Dey for all the reasons you described. Bread, what a great dreamy band, during those early dreamy times that were the early 70's, my favorite decade. It seemed like the sun was always shining in those days for some reason!

  • @chissykim I could not agree more. Excellent choices

  • @chissykim Nice choice brother/sister!

  • @chissykim I agree with you completely. The time, the styles and everything comes together. And I can't think of a kid in that time frame who did NOT have a crush on Susan Dey!

  • @chissykim Susan Dey was a beautiful girl back then and probably still is today. She was only a few years older than me at the time. To this day, she still sets my world on fire with your video. Brings back a time gone by that I will always cherish.

  • @chissykim Great choice, man!!!! 70's tunes rule!!

  • @chissykim You are so right,Susan was an outstanding young lady and as time would tell a great actress.A beautiful lady and a beautiful song!

  • @chissykim I would have gone with David Cassidy. :)

  • @chissykim Well said. Thanks for sharing this clip. No matter what kind of day I'm having, I pull up this clip and know I'll feel good for 2:26....

  • @chissykim And I completely agree! Well done!!!!

  • @chissykim Perfect

  • @chissykim great video!

  • @chissykim Couldn't have made a better choice.

  • @chissykim u did good!

  • @chissykim Good choice of PIC, She's gorgeous and is the epitome of this song. Thanks

  • @chissykim The other Beautiful one was Peggy Lipton from the Mod-Squad.

  • @chissykim i am with ya on this 100% natural, something you dont see much anymore

  • @chissykim and she frakin beautiful too

  • @chissykim Very well put!!

  • @TDS4UT What guy didn't want Susan Dey in the early 70's. She's a natural choice for tis song.

  • @TDS4UT I think she was very pretty, and the combination is OK

  • @TDS4UT who f-in cares. If you didn't post it why ask?

  • I was born in the late 80s, but I found music from the 70s is unique! No one can ever make music like that anymore, definitely not right at this moment!

  • The girl in the picture, was she not in The Partridge Family?

  • @joejoe5673 Yes! Her name is Susan Dey. I had a beautiful poster of her in my bedroom (1975!!) :)

  • she is so beautiful.. cannot be compared to celebrities today with lots of surgeries

  • Best Time in Our Lives,Gone By like a Warm Summer

  • Excellent post chissykim. David Gates knew exactly how to write songs, and it's his songs among many others and mine I include in my playing. This song inspired so much in me that in a song I wrote a couple years ago, and had a demo artist record, echo's a bit of that inspiration. If anyone's interested, just click my user name below and check out my song. I think you'll like it. Peace my friends!---Darrin

  • ... I like the song but I have always thought "Susan Day "was finer than a frog hair split 4 ways and polished ...

  • @Mosbysraider , lol,, i couldnt have put it any better :) But that was then :)

  • @Mosbysraider Had to give you a thumbs up for the imagery, but really can't agree. Susan Dey just doesn't do it for me.

  • Is there anyone more beautiful than Susan Dey?

  • @skeena59 --Thats easy- Lady Ga Ga; ( just kidding !!)

  • @TheBlackPhantom556 well being black is fine with me..being a baby boomer(1951) I did not like the ga ga lady much but now Im starting to change my mind...

  • Susan Dey (and Karen Carpenter!) really turned the tide for us guys in the 60's and 70's...we'd been raised to worship these Cali Bimbo Blondes as the top of the American Female thing. Then we finally got to see a Goddess like Susan, who put Helen of Troy to freaking shame- brunettes with hearts of Love and Gold, like no Barbie ever had.....and Uhura too! When I kick off, I don't want to go to Heaven- I want to go back THEN.....

  • @rattinox amen brother!

  • yeah.....Sweet Lori! what a fox, huh?

  • This isnt even my generations music but its so perfect im falling in love with this girl i have no idea who she is.. O.o

  • @DarkNemesis25 Susan Day of the Partridge family.

  • @alaskahotrod Susan Dey was actually a model......she did not even sing on the Partridge Family. She was lovely though

  • @betsyd58 Susan day played the tamborine on the partridge family also.

  • @DarkNemesis25 Your generation has music? Where ? Don't worry, mellow-to-the-point-of-comatose laid-back 70s classics will always come to the rescue in a time of need. I'll bet this song has already been sampled many times by no-talent clowns who spit some retarded rap on top of it.

  • good looking

  • Partridge family? David Cassidy?

  • Dayum, she was hot!

  • oh god, Susan Dey, what a hottie she was and is, i love you Susan!!!

  • One of my favorite movies of all time is "First Love", Susan Dey & William Katt. She was not shy at all!

  • Just wish I could go back to that time and start over.

  • I wish Susan Dey would come back and do more acting, she was amazing in LA Law as Grace Van Owen, and, she is one beautiful woman as well.

  • Beautifully done...

  • MMmmmm! Lori Partridge! (Susan Dey) what a beautiful dreamy young waif she was. I had a young teenage crush on her from time I first saw her on the show way back in the day. Just too groovy! Thanks for posting.

  • ima WANT YOU SO MOFO BAD!!!=//

  • Gracias por escribir la letra de este tema maravilloso, y además muy romántico. Me encanta, lo vengo escuchando hace muchos años, y retrocedo en el tiempo cuando lo escucho, es hermoso. Tantos y tantos recuerdos de juventud.................

  • Beautiful song and lyrics, why there's no songs like this one anymore ???...David Gate's voice is so soothing and relaxing, and Susan Dey's pics are so beautiful, she's really a dream girl, I wish I can go back in time, ahhh...

  • My God I was so in love with Susan Dey. She was so beautiful. If you ever dig up a copy of the movie "Looker" you can see her get naked. I saw it 25+ years ago and I can still remember her.

  • @chrispmis Thanks for that info. I remember the movie vaguely. Albert Finney was in it, too. I think I saw it on network TV, so no nude scene. I'll look for it now.

  • I think Susan was so beautiful,I thought I was in love with the girl, buts it's the beautiful youth, you see it in her eyes and her smile-I keep revisiting these pages hoping I can reclaim what I've lost forever, only to realize that in my memories i will always be in the spring of my youth.

  • Born in '61. Right on baby! Good music. Where's the Deep Purple, Smoke On the Water!

  • i was born in 67. i remember the music of the early and mid 70s growing up since my parents had the albums. i became a teenager when mtv hit. perfect timing! 80s rock was awesome. the 90s were ok. the last decade just sucks.

  • Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

  • Shirley Jones hotter????

those have got to be some good drugs you are on lol

Even as a kid growing up and now as an adult Susan is by far HOTTER than OLD Shirley

  • So few artists today can convey their emotions in lyrics like they did back in the day. Great tune.

  • @MFAsh1969 so, what your saying is: you be the Ho that makes my bling shine is not as good ;)

  • @sirwob Lol

  • The video works on so many levels. It's like you were able to catch the vunerability of the song and the pictures, in a perfect marriage of feelings and mood. It makes me think of the 70's and it's minimalist approach, saying things simply. I love this video. Two thumbs way up!!!

  • honey, you were/are so cute

  • David Gates a great singer songwriter this would have been 1973. we didn't quite realise at the time what a great time for music it was.

  • America's girl friend back in the 70's

  • this is like looking through the corridors of time on a blue sky summers day...in a summer park in the early 70s..

  • Yes, I'll admit it to the whole world: As a young kid from 7-11 years old--probably at 11 years old, I had a crush on Susan Dey, and thought she was my idea of a perfect woman! LOL! BobbyK

  • Very Good !

  • Great song and great choice for the woman to go with it. Forgot how much of a crush I had on her back in the day! Thanks for posting!

  • This song and Susan Dey go together like bread and butter!

  • all i think about is a nice big chevy impala with 350 v-8, couch like seats, 8-track player and a fuzzy dice thing hanging on the rear view mirror...

  • @jbrian80 fuzzy dice ? so...you're Hispanic ?

  • @sirwob hell no esse! no purple color metallic maricon with chrome wheels nargas...I mean a pure factory speck condition!

  • @jbrian80 get on Votto

  • no generation could make music or live like we did in the 60's and 70's.

oh what a time we lived.

  • @james45164 James, I grew up as a teen in the mid seventies... and yes you are SOO right... Music sets the tone of times past and that was one of the best, if not the best

  • @james45164 The 70's for sure...the 60's were marginal.

  • @james45164 I hear ya brother. Man I miss those days.

  • @james45164 There will never be an era like this no never, we are getting old now but to have grown up in these times was a gift of fate, my youth was pure fun.

  • @critchley3819 every generation says that about their "time" as teens.....I must agree "some of the 60's and 70's songs were great...but like all generations...for me...the drugs and heavy medal"..put an edge on how wonderful that generation was....come back and tell me the "bad" times of the 50's? Please :) Yes that's my time as a teen..the 60's and 70's was my kids time to shine...

  • @taffeydog24 OK I will try to tell you the bad times of the 50s, first I need to tell you I was not really born In your time,I was born in 51 my older brother was 1943, my mother was a catholic prude never once did she show me love, my farther was a inteligent man but never once did he tell me I was his son the only words he said was ..You are an idiot..and I really did think I was untill I got away from them. I goofed around had fun then met a girl that I fell in love with

  • @critchley3819 she was the thoughts of my dreams as a teenager !

  • @critchley3819 You say this, but you have no idea what I'm gettin up to..

  • @ElvisLivesUpstairs No I dont, but thats fine because I dont care

  • @critchley3819 Just like we don't care about your youth.

  • @critchley3819 -- you took the words out of my mouth friend:)

  • @critchley3819 -What a depressing future you assign the human race to. There is no such thing as fate and it is not due to the beneficence of some 'higher order' to make it so. And as for your claim that your youth was 'pure fun' -you never had a tooth ache? never fell-out with a friend? never broken-up with a sweet-heart? tripped and gashed a knee? Other than that your post is spot on.

  • @critchley3819 have 2 agree, i am wellover 21 but htis playlist has me in raptures-the only rap i appreciate

  • @james45164

I agree because that was my kids teens years....and after hearing the music full blast long enough...I look back and say these are happier memories for me than the 50's I grew up with..not to say I don't want hear my music once and again...:)

  • @james45164 That's irrelevant, every generation thinks that about their own.

  • @james45164 Know what you mean all i can do is smile :o)

  • @james45164 Hey the 80's were pretty freaking great too....but then the 90's came along and f***ed it all up...

  • @james45164 --- yep! I sure miss those days. Senior '78:)

  • @Vindicator58 yeah, me too. Class of "78
