  • Words cannot describe how amazing this is. I am in awe! :O

  • Sergei, Maurice and Rafael disliked this.

  • Yeah, he came to my brass camp today. He was insane. Nice guy too.

  • The really amazing part is that he's playing the piano too.

    ... ;)

  • 7:15 how is that not two trumpets playing? amazing.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DAMNNN This is hardcore, who can play this.....çnakariakov....nah...fast also but no super high range, Sandoval.....give me a break....not good tuning....so Marsalis, .........good jazz, beautiful Tomasi concerto recording...but....not to much high range ata all....so Allen is the best.

  • oh....my.....god....

  • That was one of the most amazing things I have heard in my life - imagine it live!! :-)

  • Not only is he not cracking a single not but he is triple tounging and double tounging octaves and not cracking them. And his tone is just spectacular, it's all so smooth. Amazement is an understatement.

  • yes. just...yes.

  • Chuck Norris!!!

  • He makes those high notes (which usually need a lot of high/power to reach) sound so elegant!

  • chuck norris is proud to be in vizuti's family tree

  • goddamnit why

  • 3:49 is BOSS. The piano's all soloing and playing these HUGE arpeggios all down and up the keybord and is like 'check me out'

Then he steps in and is just like, "Watch... and learn" and does the same exact thing (except on steroids) on a friggin' BRASS TUBE!!!!!!

  • How.... can I get the sheet music for this....

  • @pringles2232 Climb Mt. Olympus, Scream Triple Cs in Gods face

  • i just can't even describe how flawless this is... not a single cracked note... allen vizzutti is actually perfect... he did not make a single mistake in this entire piece... best brass player of all time (coming from a tuba player)

  • wow

  • This makes me look like I just started playing...

  • omg. amazing, trumpet murder.

  • I still have yet to meet this man. In my eyes, he is the greatest trumpet player in the world

  • why live?

  • no cracking at all...and hes jumpin 2 and 3 octaves at a time...thats skill

  • q moustro jajaja eso si es musico

  • I LOVE THHIS GUY

  • 2:10, arbans page 91 on steroids!

  • This is incredible... just when you thought the Carnival of Venice was crazy...:-O

  • K, for anyone you thinks technical stuff isn't musical (which it is) just listen from 4:33 to about 6:00... so lyrical and beautiful.

  • Why you don't put here a you video? STFU.

  • my speakers just imploded into a black hole.

  • Is Vizzutti double tonguing 16th note octaves? Whaaaaaaaat? Yea, he's a beast. I honestly don't believe any other trumpet player can play this piece. If you have proof then show me....this is insane!

  • Malcolm B. Mcnabb

  • I dont even think you could play this song with a midi file. The computer probably could keep up with the music

  • They make pentium processors these days.

Maybe you should upgrade from your 386.

  • Very, very Good!!! =))

  • You should all just shut up and listen to Allen Vizzutti pwn your faces.

  • i find it funny how you can tell that almost all the comments are from trumpet players

    ;]

  • haha true

  • I can comment better than you.

  • i suddenly feel unsufficient at trumpet

  • @ty9793 So do I. haha

  • he comes very close to perfection...just awesome!

  • lol the only man in the world who can play it, besides the past masters of trumpet if they would've lived to see it.

  • these variations are more difficult than the "carneval of venice" :D

  • that is so ridiculous in a good way. what a dick lol

  • Imagine if he played "Moto perpetuo. It would definitely come close to mendez's version

  • he arranged this for him...to show off basically...but its awesome

  • I'd listen to this guy show off all day.

  • at 8:14 its a 4th octave C?

  • it is indeed!

  • It is. It is hard to tell because it is so fast, but he also gets up to it in the 1st measure as well.

  • This is trumpet porn.

  • @squandermania You're right.

  • fyi people, most of vizuuti's work here that is really hard is cadenza material, and he has a really weird interpretation of the piece, but its a fun interpretation and it fits his personality

  • holy shit... im thinking that there are playin two trumpets in some parts :D:D GREAT!!

  • this gotta be the madest trumpet piece ever created and played :O! this is fricken insane. thx for uploading :D

vizzutti truly is my favorite !

  • You are an idiot

  • This is Carnival of Venus, not the same as Arban's variations of Carnival of Venice which is a different song.

  • you can disagree with me but lets be reasonable here. what is there to disagree with? the actual sheet music without these insane cadenzas is tough, and only literature for a serious student who plays a few hours each day for a few years but its not impossible like most people make it out to be. i thought id never be able to play it at first but it can be done

  • ok, my mistake. by that, i meant that in which people seemed to think. its definately very hard but not "hard" like many seem to think. b i am not stupid or gay. dont bring in unrelated immature material. for a very serious trumpet player its a good challenge but its not "that" hard like people think.

  • do both of you have to go there. really come on argue without trying to insult each other. there is no reason for getting worked up over nothing

  • I agree with saucychurch23 how dare charvinaldo have an opinion.

  • i giggled.

  • Thank you again, Dataviruset, for allowing our salivating eardrums to hear Mr. Vizzuttti's incredible talent. Just can't stop listening - too phenomenal!!! The double-octave jumps are INSANE.

Probably, no one would argue with that......

  • can anyone attempt this on trombone I wanna see their heads explode.

  • There is no typo, this version is entitled carnival of venus

  • You really should do you're homework... Carnival of Venus is Allens arrangement of Arbans Venice.

And yes, it's a "show-off"- piece, but it's still cool music!

  • Comment removed

  • Go back to school and do your homework... It IS Carnival of Venus, a variation of Allen on a variation of Arban. Google it or anything, mail Allen and ask him yourself, i'm pretty sure he can convince you.

  • pshhh its not that hard ;)

  • there is a reason this piece can't be performed live. it's fucken impossible

  • well he did it, didn't he?

  • DATAVIRUSET IS A BIG COOL GUY!:D

  • Haha, always ;)

  • he may be chuck norris

  • No.

  • he iight

  • i wanna hear another player 'attempt' to play this piece

  • Doc Severinsen would kick this pieces ass.

  • I'm actually not a big Severinsen fan, don't get me wrong, I respect his talent, I'm just not a fan.

I prefer Tofanelli or even Sandoval to Severinsen, but that's just my opinion.

  • I though THIS WAS Vizzutti, but maybe I'm wrong :D

  • @dataviruset pardon me man, i left that comment a long time ago, sorry.

  • Well, for starters, spell Vizzutti and Wynton right, and two, this IS Vizzutti. :/

  • ok this is not an issue of spelling. Doc is a great jazz player, but all of the players previously named are by far stronger classical players

  • He is the world's best trumpeter.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • he is the horowitz of trumpet :)

  • I saw him play at a district band festival at PLU in Washington state... He was so funny! He was playing a cadenza super fast and was turning his trumpet upside-down as he played it. He ended up playing the valves with the tops of his fingers :)

  • he puts us trumpet players to shame

  • DUDE! this guy could beat chuck norris!!!

hmm. maybe not. BUT IT'D BE CLOSE!

  • WOW. Now THAT IS dedication

  • like this was so amazing that when he recorded this, his body just spontaneously combusted. no fire or anything. just a glorious shower of blood. no human being is able to withhold this kind of talent.

  • Venice on acid - wow

  • Hooooooooo boy. Mr. Vizzutti pretty much wins everything. Sheeeeeeeeit, man. I know it's all showy, but come on, to be unbelievable in the 21st century, you have to do some seriously crazy stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • not so bad i must say...

kidding, i have no words for this

  • good land.

  • Could anything in music be more mind-blowing? wow

  • My God I love Allen Vizzuti's playing, it is absolutely mind blowing. I don't know why other people don't love Carnival of Venus; I for one WANT(and I mean absolutely want, if I had I one I would drool all over it and need a new copy) a copy of the sheet music.

  • Well, apparently this piece has been deemed the most difficult trumpet piece to play (like Allen, at least), while still sounding good. The sheet music can only be purchased if you're part of the ITG or something. Basically, you have to be amazing to get it.

  • I have sheet music for this...

It's published by ITG, but you don't have to be good to be in ITG, you just have to pay for a membership.

And in case you're wondering, yes, it's even more unbelievable on paper.

  • Oh okay, whats the higest note said to play?

  • the highest i heard was a super c

  • They must've cut out right before the trumpet burst into flames.

  • HAHA, that was a good one =P

  • pure brilliance

  • this makes rafael mendez version of moto perpetuo look easy...

  • Allen Vizzutti is good but i have no idea why he created this piece. Its no where near as good as carnival of venice. I have to say its more difficult but to me all i hear are various insane musical exercises crammed together to make the hardest trumpet piece possibly ever created.

  • I'm pretty sure that was the whole point. He couldn't find a piece difficult enough to show off, so he wrote one.

  • This is the classical world's difficult piece he wrote. Firedance is the jazz world's difficult one. Needless to say, he is a MAN.

  • I agree with this being the classical worlds most technical piece but i disagree with firedance being the jazz worlds most difficult piece.

  • But then again, each world has pieces more difficult for different reasons and on different instruments. For instance, on sax, Giant Steps or Donna Lee could be the most technically difficult for Tenor and Alto respectively.

  • very true, but im speaking of the trumpet song bank

  • If any of us were as good as al vizzutti, we would quickly realize why he got so bored with the arban arrangement. This is just something new, it can't really be compared to the great cornet solos by arban/clarke/etc IMO

  • this guy is crazy good!!!

  • i have the sheet music for this...needless to say i cant play it

  • amen brother

  • Fantastic playing

  • hahaha Nice joke. Trumpets are amazing, end of story :D

  • Hahahah, euphoniums are The most geeky instrument ever played on this planet! Cant imagin anyone really like playin it!

  • The flugelhorn is actually more closely related to the euphonium than trumpet. If you wanted to make a non-full of fail argument, you should have said that "trumpets are wimpy trombones" since they are in the same brass family. Of course, you would still be wrong, but less so.

  • I didnt talk about relations and i wasnt serious... And what did trumpet, trombones and flugelhorns to do with anything here? We talked about the euphonium...

  • Vizzutti is the Paganini of the trumpet. He is nearly alone in managing to play this pieceat all and is truely alone in his combination of technique, tone, range and breath control. Astonishing..

  • Sergei Nakariakov and Wynton Marsalis are up there too.

  • thats because all phil smith does is play in a professional orchestra. Vizzutti MArsalis, and NAkariakov are not part of any any orchestra. They're just monsters on their own

  • He's really a jazz player... he's just so talented he can do bare styles.

  • Does he just sit there writing music that only he can play? I felt like such a failure as a trumpet player after listening to this.

  • i got the sheet music for this when i subscribed to ITG; looked at it and said: yeah that's some hard stuff. Bought the .mp3 @ Audiolunchbox and was like - DAMN they give you this piece and expect you to play it!?!

  • best trumpet player alive!!!

  • 1) Yes that is his wife

    2) The recording studio was so hot, that he had to record some of the song in only his underwear to keep from overheating.

  • is that his wife playing the piano?

    outstanding preformance any ways

  • Wouldn't it be cool to have a video or audio of Vizzutti playing when he was 15 (or so) and compare to Sergei Nakariakov.

  • i know, but does he play cornet as well?

  • you can assume that every person who play a b flat trumpet also plays on cornet because their sound and fingerings are identical. He also plays on fluegalhorn(spelling).

I play on both trumpet and cornet:D

  • Kk. I only play the cornet, and it's "Flügelhorn".

  • does he play cornet?:P

  • No, thats a trumpet

  • I read the title, and was like "Nuh uh, there's no such thing as Carnival of Venus, I think he misinterpreted 'Venice' or something,"

    ...Then I pressed play.

    :D

  • there are two versions

  • Thank you for telling him something he knew already.

  • He has unbelievable precision.

  • he is completely crazy!

  • 5 stars out of 5... It's the only possibility really when you listen to it!!!!

  • Interesting point, however he seems to be in higher demand for contract recording (mostly melodic) than just about any trumpet player alive. His lyrical passages just sing!

  • Allen has a better tone, and range. But, Sergei definitely is more popular.

  • What are you talking about? There are very few places in this piece where "showing off" got in the way of musicality. Just because something is incredibly technically demanding doesn't mean that it isn't musical.

  • Why does everyone always want to throw away their trumpet, when they hear stuff like this?

Everytime I listen to a brilliant trumpet piece, all I want to do is get my trumpet...and just play.

  • Truth, here here.

  • *colapses in exhaust*

    Good LORD!!!!!

    ....wow....

    lolol

    That is freaking crazy!

And now that I feel like the WORST trumpet player on earth, I am either going to practice for three days straight, or throw my trumpet off the balcony.

    :-(

    lol

  • I dunno what's better...Allen Vizzutti's "Carnival of Venus" or Rafael Mendes' 'Moto Perpetuo".

But both songs definetly rock! :)

And I agree with Vizzutti being the best trumpet player alive.

  • OOHH MY!

  • Vizzutti is arguably the best classical trumpet player in the world

  • But he had never performed this piece live (I wonder why :D ). Would like to see this live

  • He did perform it live at the Melbourne International Festival of Brass (2005), in an amazing recital. We got him out for six encores before he told us to stop!
